Chapter 1201
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Both Renee and Liam looked for Joanne in every room, but even after ages of searching, they couldnât find the dismantling room Joanne was in.
Suddenly, they heard a distressed cry from the most secluded corner in the southeast.
âThat sounds like Joanne!â Renee gasped, her face going pale.
âLetâs go!â Liam held Reneeâs hand tightly. They got rid of all the people who blocked their path and ran towards the room the sound came from.
The dismantling room was guarded too, but before Liam could use the gun in his hand, Renee kicked them away. She quickly picked up their weapons and shot the tightly closed door of the dismantling room, forcing the door open.
The scene that greeted her was horrifying.
Joanne was strapped to an operating table with both sides of her waist cut open, and a man in a lab coat was about to reach into the wounds to remove Joanneâs kidneys. He looked up at the sudden intrusion, and his eyes grew wide. âWho⦠Who are you?â
He took two steps back fearfully, holding out the scalpel in his hand threateningly. His hands were covered in blood.
âYou⦠How dare you!â Renee roared, mad with rage. She aimed her gun at the two men in lab coats and shot their thighs. They instantly dropped to the ground, wailing and howling.
âJoanne, hold on. Youâre safe nowâ¦â Renee said to Joanne as she fought back tears. She could not imagine what would have happened to Joanne if they were even a second late.
Joanne smiled weakly as she looked up at Renee from the operating table.
âI didnât expect you to be so pretty. Your eyes make me think of himâ theyâre eyes that can tell a million stories. I wonât have any regrets since I can see such beautiful eyes before I die.â
âNo, you wonât die. I wonât let anything happen to you.â Renee promised, grabbed one of the two men in lab coats, and pulled him to his feet. She then pressed her gun to his head and ordered fiercely, âTil give you ten minutes to sew her injuries up. Anything later than that, and Iâll blow your brains out.â
The man held a needle and suture thread with shaky hands and whimpered, âIt was her!
She didnât want the anaesthesia, and asked us to be quick. We just wanted to grant her wish.â
âCut the crap!â Renee slapped the man hard and snarled, âWhy donât I slash your waist without giving you anaesthesia and see how you like it? Do you want that?â
âN-No, please donât! Well sew up her injuries now.â The man immediately started to sew up Joanneâs injuries, and the sight of the needle passing through Joanneâs flash was ghastly.
Renee held Joanneâs hand and sobbed, âJoanne, hold on, itâll be over soon. Scream if youâre in pain. Itâs my fault I was late⦠I made you suffer.â
Joanne sweated profusely because of the excruciating pain. She then shook her head and said, smiling, âIâm fine. Iâve experienced a lot of things more painful than this. I can take it.â
âIâll take you away after this, and youâll be reborn. Didnât you say that my eyes looked familiar? Do you want to see them again? Well, you should go and see them on your ownâ¦â
âI will. Iâll hold on but⦠Iâm a little sleepy. I want to sleep. Iâm so tired.â Joanneâs voice grew weaker, and she struggled to keep her eyes open.
Renee was scared out of her wits, and screamed at the man stitching Joanneâs wounds, âWhat did you do?! Why does she look so weak?
