Chapter 1225
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Enter title⦠âDamn it, it must be because of that perfume!â Stefan held the door and wiped away the sweat on his forehead, trying his best to control his breathing.
He stood at the door, wondering whether he should enter the room.
If he left, he was worried that she might hurt herself.
But if he entered the room, he might hurt her more.
Renee eventually bumped into a pillar, and woke up with a start.
She looked around, confused, then stared at the cactus needles in her hand.
âWhere am I? What am I doing?â âRenee, youâre⦠awake?â Stefan swallowed and asked her urgently.
Surprised, Renee turned around and looked at Stefan, whose face was twisted in pain.
She quickly rushed over and supported him, asking in concern, âStefan, whatâs the matter with you?
Why is your body so hot and your face so flushed? Are you having a fever?â âDonât touch me!â Stefan pushed her away as sweat rolled down his throat.
He was aware of the changes in his body, and it was getting increasingly difficult to control his urges.
If he did not push her away, he would have taken her there and then.
âWhatâs the matter? Tell me so I can help youâ¦â Renee figured he was drunk, and let him lean on her as said comfortingly, âCome to my room.
I have an antipyretic in my bag.â âI told you not to touch me! Youâre digging your own graveâ¦â Stefan snarled, breathing heavily.
âThis isnât the first time Iâve done this.
Your skin is so hot, I canât leave you or your condition might get worse.
What if you get meningitis and become brain-dead from the fever?â Renee held Stefan tightly and dragged him into the room, then helped him to lie on the sofa.
Carrying Stefan was no easy task, and she was now panting and covered in sweat.
The thin white top she was wearing clung to her sticky body, making her look very tempting.
Stefan was already struggling to stifle his urges, and when he saw her, a wave of desire overwhelmed him.
He clenched his fists tightly and turned away, forcing himself to not look at her.
He gritted his teeth and bit out, âYou⦠go to bed.
This is nothing; Iâll get better soon.â Generally, this kind of perfume would only last for an hour or two.
Everything would be fine as long as she wasnât around him.
âThe consequences will be very serious if your fever isnât treated right away.
Donât take it lightly.
I canât leave you alone when youâre suffering like this.â While talking, she put the back of her hand against his forehead.
She then frowned and said, âYouâre burning up.
I have to bring down your fever.
Lie down⦠Iâll grab the medicine.â She got up and opened the bag she carried with her and took out the antipyretic she always had with her.
Then, she poured a glass of warm water and returned to the living room.
In the meantime, Stefan had torn off his tie and unbuttoned his shirt, exposing his toned body.
âWhat⦠What are you doing?â Renee took a deep breath and looked away, trying not to let her thoughts run wild.
She knew he wasnât well, but the enticing picture he painted was now burned in her mind.
She carefully went to him with her head turned away as she handed him the antipyretic and warm water.
âHere⦠This medicine is very effective.
Take it first so you can bring down your fever.â âNo, itâs fineâ¦â Stefan put away the glass of water and medicine and got up unsteadily.
His dilated pupils locked on her as he pulled her into his arms and growled, âIâd rather have you instead.â
