Chapter 1383
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
The phone rang for a long while but nobody picked up her call.
âDamn it! Whatâs he doing? Why isnât he picking up my calls?â Seraphina snarled furiously. Before Ethan entered her room, she
had tried to call him, but there had been no answer either. Had he blocked her number? Was he using another number?
âDonât tell me heâs dead!â Frustrated, Seraphina continued breaking things. Finally, right when she had lost all hope, that person
called back.
âWhatâs the matter?â He sounded exasperated and annoyed, as if he wanted to end the call right away.
âWhere the heck did you go, Jovan? I called you so many times!â Seraphina snapped. If this hadnât been an emergency, she wouldnât have wanted anything to do with him.
âI asked you whatâs wrong.â Jovanâs voice was icy.
Seraphina stopped behaving arrogantly and whispered, âStefan has gotten suspicious and has hired a very capable neurosurgeon to have another brain surgery. Wonât it expose what we did?â
âIt doesnât matter to me. After all, Iâm a useless man now. Iâll be waiting for him if he wants to take revenge.â
âHow could you say that?!â Seraphina stomped her foot angrily. âYou didnât say that when you made me do those things, but now that everythingâs about to be exposed, you couldnât care! Have you ever thought about me? My family and yours will be affected by this too, and it wonât be over so soon!â
âSo, youâre saying that he canât have that surgery?â Jovan asked calmly.
âOf course!â
Try and come up with a way to stop it then.â
Seraphina froze. âYouâre saying thatâ¦â
âThe neurosurgeon you talked about is good at his job, but heâs just an ordinary man, isnât he? Your family is powerful and
influential. Do I really have to spell it out for you?â Jovan asked her sarcastically.
âUmmâ¦â Seraphina frowned, fidgeting uncomfortably. âYouâre⦠Youâre saying thatâ¦â I said nothing.
Think it through since youâre so smart. In short, you should start with the source if you want to stop the surgery. Use any means necessary; itâs the right way as long as you can stop it.â
Seraphina clenched her phone tightly. âI think I know what I should do now.â
