Chapter 217
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
The woman was none other than Janeâs biological mother, Sandra. âJane, are you alright? I think your neck is bleeding! Does it hurt? Iâll take you to the hospital right away!â
Sandra picked Jane up and looked her over anxiously, tears streaming down her cheeks. She had been reading a dossier when she saw the live broadcast on TV, and was shocked when she realized that her precious daughter had been kidnapped. She immediately dropped whatever she was doing and drove as fast as she could to get to the mall.
Fortunately, her daughter had only suffered some minor external injuries, thanks to Reneeâs selfless act.
Initially, Sandra couldnât even be bothered to look Renee in the eye, but now, she felt nothing but gratitude towards her. âThank you so much. If it werenât for you, I canât imagine what wouldâve happened. You saved Janeâs life, and that makes you my savior too. I owe you my life!â
Renee waved her off awkwardly. âItâs nothing, I wouldâve done the same for anyone. Thank you for the compliment, though!â
Sandra chuckled. âDonât think too much of it. I still donât like you, but if you want anything in return, I wonât say no.â
âFine Renee couldnât help but sigh. Sandra was really a tough nut to crack!
However, Jane suddenly pushed Sandra away and ran behind Renee. âWho are you? I donât know you!
My parents told me not to let strangers touch me. Youâre a bad person⦠Iâll ask the police to arrest you!â
âJane, you.â Sandraâs face crumpled. It was hurtful that her own daughter thought she was a bad person and wanted the police to arrest her.
Renee held Janeâs hand and said gently, âJane, this woman isnât a bad person. Look, sheâs so worried about you that sheâs almost in tears.
She clearly loves you!â
Only then did Jane relax. She curiously studied the tall, imposing woman before her. âWho is she? I donât recognize her, but she feels familiar. I think Iâve seen her in my dreamsâ¦â
âJane, sheâs actually yourâ¦â Renee wanted to tell Jane the truth.
Jane knew that Professor Wood and his wife werenât her biological parents, and sheâd always wanted to know who her real parents were. In fact, her wish for her sixth birthday was to meet her biological parents.
If Renee told Jane that Sandra was her biological mother, sheâd at least have half of her birthday wish granted.
However, Sandra cut Renee off. She looked coldly at Jane and said softly. âYouâre right for hating me.
Iâm not a good person, so youâd better stay away from me. Otherwise, I canât promise I wonât hurt you.â
She then turned to face Renee. âTake her to the hospital, and donât tell anyone what happened here. I wonât forget what you did today. I always return the favor!â
With a final glance at Jane, Sandra strode away coolly.
Renee watched her leave. The woman probably had many secrets she didnât want other people to find outâ¦
Jane tugged at Reneeâs hand. âRenee, you havenât told me who that woman was. I want to be her friend. Why did she suddenly leave?â
âUmmâ¦â In the end, Renee didnât tell Jane that Sandra was her biological mother. âThat woman is very capable and selfless. Jane, donât forget â whatever happens in the future, you cannot blame her. You have to forgive her, okay?â
Jane wasnât sure what Renee meant, but she nodded obediently. âAlright, I understand.â
