Chapter 309
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Stefan took a deep breath and tried to keep his anger under control. He asked Renee, âSince you already know what kind of person he is, why did you still get close to him? Is there something wrong with your brain?â
â What kind of person he is?â
Renee looked directly at Stefanâs fierce eyes and gave him a mocking smile. âHeâs a hacker. People pay him to do stuff. Isnât that reasonable? Whatâs the problem?â
â But you⦠you would go to any length to protect your little lover, wouldnât you? Including destroying evidence in secret. I think your personality is even shadier. Youâre the one I should stay away from!â ft ft Stefan pursed his lips. He was rendered speechless again.
Renee was right. In terms of shadiness, he was even shadier than Haze. What moral high ground did he have to criticize Hazeâs character?
Haze looked at his watch and said with a smile on his face, âIâm sorry, Mr. Hunt, but our flight is about to take off. Please make way. This is the first meeting between Miss Everheart and my parents. We wouldnât want to be late.â
He was twisting the knife that had stabbed into Stefanâs heart!
Stefan was nigh bursting with anger and jealousy already. When he heard that, he could contain himself no longer. He grabbed Reneeâs wrist and declared his ownership of her. âThis woman is already taken. She wonât be going with you!â
âStefan, what are you doing? Let me go!â
Renee was embarrassed and tried hard to free herself from his grasp.
Stefan held her even tighter, pulled her into his arms, and said forcefully, âI wonât let you go. Youâre not allowed to go with him!â
âWho do you think you are?!â
Thereâs something wrong with this guyâs brain!
Itâs none of his business whose parents she was meeting.
Renee roared, âWeâre divorced. Iâm single now. You have no right!â
Stefan said, âItâs true that weâre divorced, but youâre still my responsibility. I promised your grandpa to keep you safe for the rest of your life. This guy is just a hacker with no power and no wealth. He canât give you happiness. I naturally canât let you go with him.â
âWhat?â
No matter how hard Renee racked her brain, she could not recall when her grandfather had ever said that.
Stefanâs eyes were cold. He said arrogantly, âIâll consider letting go of you if you find a man whoâs comparable to me. I wonât let you go if the man is worse than me!â
Renee:ââ¦â
She had no idea how anyone could be this shameless.
Did he really think heâs the best in the world and no one could match up to him?
âStefan, youâre so full of yourself. Do you really think hackers are that poor? For all we know, his net worth may be much higher than yours. And heâs just as capable as you are!â
Renee retorted.
âHis net worth?â
Stefan sneered. Like an immature elementary school kid, his competitive desire was aroused. âThen why donât your hacker friend and I compare our net worth?â
Renee said, âThatâs unfair! Your net worth was amassed by your entire family.â
