Chapter 373
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Leia stood up and shouted enthusiastically as the wind gushed across them.
âHold tight!â Renee tenderly advised Leia.
She, too, was overjoyed.
Despite the fact that she had been living peacefully on Sun Island, Beach City was her home. It was her ancestorsâ origins from where she came from.
Her friends and family were here, as were the bittersweet memories she would never forget. She felt a sense of belonging here.
So she decided to return when the moment was perfect when she was powerful enough to defend those she cared about.
The vehicle gradually slowed, and Leiaâs enthusiasm faded as she sat quietly in the passenger seat, growing inquisitive about Renee.
âRen, tell me secretly, what are your plans now that youâve unexpectedly returned? Why are you keeping it such a secret that even Liam is unaware?â
Reneeâs unexpected return to Beach City was only known to Leia. Renee even requested her to keep it a secret and not tell anyone, including Liam.
Renee said quietly, âThereâs no plan.â She clutched the steering wheel with one hand and supported her head with the other. âI miss my home and want to go back. Besides, I want to restore the Everheart house so the two children will have a place to live when they arrive.â
When Leia heard this, her irises glowed, and she became enthralled all over again. âDo you intend to bring them back to Beach City permanently?â
Renee made no denials. âIf everything goes well,â she said, raising her brows.
âEverything will be great!â
âIt would be great if you could come back here. We can go out whenever we want. You have no idea how lonely Iâve been these few years youâve been gone. I donât have a buddy to hang out with. Those who approach me with the goal of becoming my friends will never be able to contend with you.â
Renee felt bad for Leia and encouraged her like she was encouraging her own daughter, Abby. âI know the last few years have been difficult for you. When I return, you wonât be alone, and weâll be the best pair ever!â
âHow soon before youâll be back? Are you sure youâre not going to lie to me again?â
For the past few years, Leia had been praying like crazy for Reneeâs return.
Every time when they were on call, Reneeâs answer would always be, âJust wait for a while; the time isnât perfect yet.â And so she waited⦠for four years.
âFor four years, you lied to me. I witnessed Aiden and Abbyâs development from small infants to large kids. They progressed from speaking nonsense to being completely capable of arguing with me.
Despite this, I never saw them. How could you treat me this way?
âHaha. Itâs completely my fault!â
Renee then stated solemnly, âThis time, Iâm not lying.â
âFine. Iâll put my faith in you one more time.â Leia exclaimed proudly.
âHowever, I must remind you that if you do bring the children here, you must keep them well hidden.â
Leia became concerned. âYour ex-husband is not a nice person. He failed to have a kid with Briar for a few years. I believe he would want to steal your children, particularly Aiden, who appears exactly like him.â
