Chapter 468
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Renee shook her head. âI donât have an answer, and I donât want to make a guess. Iâm also not in the mood to listen to your nonsense. Youâd better get out of the way, or Iâll run you over!â
Jovan sat lazily in front of the car. He ignored Reneeâs warning completely. âI thought youâve grown much stronger in the past few years, but youâre still as much of a coward as ever. You donât even have the guts to face the truth. Donât you think itâs sad that you have to lie to yourself like this?â
âI donât know what youâre talking about!â Renee exclaimed. âIâm saying this for the last time. Get out of the way!â
She placed her foot on the gas pedal. All she needed to do was step on it lightly, and Jovan would be crushed into a pulp of flesh.
âHehe. Do you think youâll be able to change my dying cousinâs fate by running me over?â Jovan slowly got up. He propped his arms on the hood and smiled creepily at her.
âWerenât you curious why I brought you to the middle of nowhere? Look around. Donât you think this gravesite has very good feng shui? I heard the Hunt family specifically chose this place for Stefan.
Once itâs time to bury him, my proud, aloof cousin will be trapped here foreverâ¦â
Reneeâs head was pounding. Her mind went blank.
She couldnât understand what he was saying and couldnât be bothered to try. She kept repeating the phrase âmy dying cousinâ in her head!
âNo. This isnât possible. How could Stefan be dead? If a cat has nine lives, he has ten!â Renee refused to believe Stefan was dead.
âYou know very well whether Iâm lying or not. If you donât believe me, you can come and look at this grave. His tomb has already been erected in advance. The irony is⦠Since youâre his wife, your name was also inscribed on it. Itâs hilarious!â Jovan crossed his arms and looked at the large tomb ahead.
There was a sarcastic look in his eyes.
âWhen I think about it, sometimes, life can be quite meaningless. It doesnât bother how capable or amazing someone is; at the end of the day, one is still a mere mortal. Once a person dies, heâs no different from an insect or a pest. Everything goes back to dust. I can step on him if I so wish!â He added before stepping on Stefanâs black-and-white photo on the tomb.
âStefan, arenât you all that amazing? Havenât you always been number one? Why donât you get up and fight back?
âDo you have any idea how Iâve always lived in your shadow? When other people get a score of 99 on an exam, they receive praise. When I did the same, I got beaten up. Itâs all because youâd always get a score of 100!
âI lost sleep and skipped meals to make H Group one of the top three players in the market, but I was transferred abroad to work on sideline projects all because of something you said!
âEveryone criticized me for being an idiot and a womanizer. They said I brought shame to the family, but nobody knew I had to be compared to you at all times. How was I supposed to ever stand out?
âFortunately, God is fair. You died for a woman. It gave me an opportunity to come back. From now on, Iâll reclaim everything that I once lost, including the woman of my dreams!â Jovan uttered excitedly. The smile on his face was becoming cold and twisted.
He stomped fervently on Stefanâs photo, letting out all those years of jealousy he had concealed!
âStop it!â Renee had gotten out of the car at some point. âYouâre insulting a dead person. Can you even call yourself a gentleman?â
âDo you feel bad for him?
