Chapter 581
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Renee was embarrassed. Her entire body froze, too scared to move. She smiled and said, âAh, youâre awake, haha. There was a mosquito on your face, so I hit it for you.â
âHow kind of you.â
The man remained lying down, but his aura was very strong and a bit unruly. He forcefully pulled the woman into his arms and said with a smile on his face, â Then, how should I repay you?â
Renee half-lay on the manâs chest. She did not dare to struggle too hard. She was worried that, if she did, their poses would get even more awkward.
She pretended to be calm and said, âThereâs no need to repay me. I was just doing you a favor back.
You took care of me all night, fed me medicine, and played the piano for me. Killing a mosquito for you is nothing in comparison.â
âThatâs right!â
The man said calmly, âTaking care of a patient is hard work, especially if the patient wouldnât take her medicine obediently like a good girl. Iâve been busy all night, so now my back is sore and my eyelids are heavy. You wouldnât think killing a mosquito for me is enough to repay me, would you?â
âThen what do you want me to do?â
Renee asked through gritted teeth.
This despicable man just turned the tables on her.
âNothing much. I just want you to massage my shoulders, rub my legs, and sing a little song for me.â
Reneeâs expression darkened. âDonât push it. I donât like this kind of joke.â
Mr. Q thus let go of Renee. He looked out of the window at the bright moon which shone like a jade and muttered, âIn that case, can you spend some time to chat and moon-gaze with me?â
âSure!â
Renee replied with a snap of her fingers. She got up to get some snacks and fruits.
âLetâs chat!â
With a crispy red apple in her hand, she wrapped herself in a blanket, looking carefree.
The man sat upright and looked at her up and down. âYour feverâs gone?â
âYup!â
âYour coldâs gone too?â
âYup!â
Renee bit into the apple and said smugly, âI told you, I have a good constitution. For a little cold like that, Iâd be fine after a good nightâs sleep.â
âYou wouldnât have recovered so quickly if not for Margaretâs medicine.â
âActually, the most effective medicine was your pianoâ¦â
Renee couldnât help but reminisce, âI didnât expect you to be that good at playing the piano. It cured the insomnia which has been bothering me for a long time. Because I slept really well, I recovered quickly.â
His lips curled into a smile. âThere are still many sides of me you have yet to discover, but we have plenty of time.â
Renee stared at the man. She had a strange feeling.
Although they were not that close, it felt so natural to chat and gaze at the moon together, as if they were two old friends who had known each other fora longtime.
âWho are you? Do I⦠know you?â Renee could not help asking.
