Chapter 602
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Abby chewed the cake slowly like a kitten. Then, her big round eyes instantly enlarged and shone bright like stars in the sky. She said excitedly, âWow, what a delicious cake! Itâs the most delicious cake Iâve ever had!â
âReally?â
Renee and Adie exchanged glances. They were still afraid to taste the cake due to their trauma.
âAdie, why donât you⦠give it a try too?â
Adie shook his head and said, âMommy, of course I should let you go first. Iâm a filial son after all.â
Reneeâs smile was awkward. âYes, you sure are.â
She slowly picked up a slice of cake and licked it tentatively.
Surprisingly, it did not taste as âexcitingâ as the previous breakfast. In fact, it was quite delicious.
Renee quickly finished a slice and immediately started on a second one.
Seeing that, Adie also picked up a slice and tried it out.
âItâs good. Looks like that guy put in a lot of effort to improve. Not bad, not bad at all.â
Adie nodded while eating. His opinion of Mr. Q improved by ten points.
With her mouth full of cream, Renee looked at Adie with a skeptical expression and asked, âTell me honestly, who exactly is this âfamous Beach City chefâ you were talking about? How did you meet him?
Do I know him?â
âHeâs a friend I made. When the time is right, Iâll introduce him to youâ¦â
Adie was being very mysterious. He added, âMy friend is amazing. If I introduce him to you now, Iâm worried that you might fall head over heels for him immediately. But what if he has a major flaw? That would be bad. So, Mommy, please be patient for now. I promise Iâll observe him carefully for you.â
âFor me?â
âYeah, didnât I tell you Iâll pick a husband for you? Have you forgotten already?â
âUhhâ¦â
Reneeâs expression was awkward.
She did not expect the little boy to actually look for a husband for her.
In that case, she looked forward to meeting the man that her son found for her.
At least the man would have passed Adieâs evaluation already. That means he had already won half the battle.
They enjoyed the delicious breakfast and departed for Monte Perry Kindergarten.
Because it was the kidsâ first day and they were transfer students, Renee was really worried. Even after the two kids were led into the classroom by the childcare teacher, she stood at the school gate for a long time, refusing to leave.
On the contrary, Margaret appeared very calm. She persuaded Renee,â Miss Ren, stop staring. Theyâre gone. Weâve always kept Adie and Abby protected from the outside world on Sun Island. Itâs high time they make contact with the real world and make friends with other kids. Itâs also time you learn to let go.â
âI understand what youâre saying, but I still canât bear to part with them. My nose was sore when I watched them walk into the classroom. Will they be alright? Will they bully their classmates?â¦â
âWell, as long as their classmates donât do anything stupid, they should be fine. Adie and Abby know their boundaries. Even if they bully their classmates, it would be the gentle type of bullying. They wonât cause too much trouble.â
âYouâre right. Although my two babies are difficult to deal with and are very scary, they wonât cause unnecessary troubles. Their classmates⦠should be safe.â
Renee took a deep breath. She couldnât help but worry for the other children.
âMiss Ren, get back to work. Donât worry too much about them. I believe theyâll adapt well.â
