Chapter 628
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
Francine leaned against the door, looking more and more confused. âThis doesnât sound right. Now itâs Stefan screaming⦠Is he getting beaten up?â âHow can that be? Mrs. Hunt is so graceful and delicate, like a feeble, wealthy lady. She couldnât possibly do such heinous things.â
âAh, you donât know her. Donât be deceived by her kind exterior â sheâs actually a tough fighter on the inside. She reminds me of myself when I was younger!â
âIf thatâs the case, donât be concerned. It demonstrates Mrs. Huntâs ability to keep Mr. Hunt in check.
Well, I never imagined Mr. Hunt would have such a day. Iâm embarrassed to hear whatâs going on inside.â Lisa couldnât help but cover her face as she imagined what was happening.
âYouâre right⦠She can keep him in check!â Francineâs eyes shone and she praised Renee, saying, âRenee is a gem. She excels at everything, even this! She really is flawless. Oh, my wish to have a grandchild seems to be coming true.â
They quickly left, and the electricity was suddenly restored.
Stefan and Renee had no idea their strategy would be so successful. When the lights came back on, they were in a very intimate position. Renee was straddling Stefan as she tickled him, and Stefanâs arms were wrapped around Reneeâs waist possessively.
However, when the lights came on, they froze, looking embarrassed.
âLooks like we no longer need to act.â Renee dusted her clothes and got off him awkwardly.
Stefan also felt uneasy, and he muttered under his breath, âYeah, it seems like thereâs no need for it anymore.â
Renee went to open the door, and it opened promptly. She sighed in relief and turned to Stefan.
âEverything was just a misunderstanding. Iâm sorry for bothering you.â
âWhat is the misunderstanding?â His voice was firm but playful. âYou havenât told me who youâre searching for yet.â
âNobody.â It was clear from Margaretâs messages that Stefan had not abducted Adie and Abby. That meant that the whole Hunt family was unaware of the childrenâs existence.
âYou wouldnât just come all the way here for nothing,â Stefanâs gaze was searching as he stared into her eyes.
âThe reason for my visit isâ¦â She paused briefly before remarking cynically, âI came to see whether you really are dead. After all, you were supposedly reduced to ashes in a cemetery.â
He wasnât upset. âAre you happy Iâm alive?â He sarcastically said, crossing his arms against his chest and leaning against the door frame.
She rolled her eyes at him and turned around. âIâm not going to give up. Since youâre still alive, our war has officially begun.â
Renee went down the stairs and spotted Timothy pretending to read the newspapers on the sofa.
She squinted at the old man suspiciously. âWere you in on this, Grandpa Hunt?â
