Chapter 832
The Untouchable Ex-Wife
The Hunt Residence.
Timothy was overjoyed, and his eyes welled up with tears as he saw Francine bring Adie and Abby home.
âKids, this is the grandpa I mentioned. Heâs the Hunt family member who likes your mother the most and who your father fears the most.â Francine gladly introduced Timothy to the children. After interacting with them for a few days, she had come to understand their thought process â anyone friendly to Renee and hostile to Stefan was an ally.
She had become their ally by criticizing Stefan on occasion, and she hoped that by introducing Timothy in such a way, the children would warm to him.
To Francineâs delight, her plan worked. Adie, who was usually cautious, approached Timothy on his own.
He raised his head and looked at Timothyâs wrinkled face, then gently hooked his finger around the old manâs wrinkled finger and murmured, âGreat-grandpa, I can tell youâre a good person. Thank you for looking after my mother.â
When Abby saw this, she went up to her brother and happily told him, âAdie, you finally agree with me that people who look good are good. We should assess people based on their looks!â
She then turned around and smiled charmingly as she grasped Timothyâs other hand in her soft, delicate palm. âMy name is Abby, Great-grandpa. Youâre the sweetest old man Iâve ever met. You must have been attractive when you were younger, so Iâm certain youâre a decent guy!â
Timothy was taken aback by the two youngsters, and he burst into joyful laughter. He clutched the childrenâs hands firmly and smiled heartily, tears streaming down his cheeks. âYou two are my great-
grandchildren, and the Hunt familyâs heirs. I never imagined this day would arrive.â
He looked up at the sky, and smiled fondly. âAre you seeing this, Maurice? They are Stefan and Reneeâs children. The Hunt and Evertheart families will go on. I can finally face you in the afterlife!â
When Alexander heard this, he grimaced, his eyes wet with unshed tears. âWhat are you talking about, Dad? We just got reunited with the kids. We should be grateful for this opportunity, so donât say anything negative. Youâre going to live a long life.â
Francineâs eyes welled up with tears as well. âThatâs right. Youâre still alive and well. Youâve recently reconnected with the children, and you must remain with them until they reach adulthood. You have to see the birth of their grandkids!â
âI know my health best,â Timothy declared, waving his hand and taking a deep breath with difficulty. âIâm already glad you attempted to find me an ideal heart that would allow me to live my life. God has been kind to me in allowing me to live till I see my great-grandchildren. I have no regrets if I die today!â
When Adie overheard this, he couldnât help but be concerned about Timothy. âGreat-grandfather, are you sick?â
âYes. Iâm becoming old, and my body is weakening⦠But donât worry,â Timothy remarked as he stroked Adie on the head. âItâs completely natural. Humans will age, and death is both the end and the beginning of life. I feel we will cross paths again for sure.â
Francine frowned and sighed. âDad, thatâs too deep. The kids wonât understand.â
âNo. I see what youâre saying.â Adieâs lovely face was serious as he nodded. âGreat-grandpa is saying that his life will never end. He will reappear in our lives in a different form.â
âOh, I understand now!â Abby murmured excitedly, blinking her wide eyes. âOne day, Great-grandpa will transform into a star and guard us at night. Or maybe heâll transform into a tree and protect us from the wind and rain, or transform into a cat and keep us company.â
