Chapter 128
Even After Death
Marina was in her room, smashing anything she could get her hands on.
Meanwhile, Olivia was still in Ethanâs arms.
Olivia raised her head from his chest when there was no one else around.
They were standing on the deck, and it was still snowing.
â Ethan said in an icy tone, âAre you happy now?â
He wasnât dumb. He knew that Olivia wouldnât have tried to have sex with him in a place like that.
He had caught on before everything happened. He couldâve stopped it. But tonight, he didnât want to.
He didnât expect Marina to be so stupid. Her own trap backfired against her.
Olivia winked at him and said, âWhy would I be unhappy? She was the one who wanted to set me up.
Are you feeling sorry for her?â
Ethanâs eyes were filled with dissatisfaction.
He said to Olivia with a scowl, âOlivia, teaching her a lesson is not worth risking your own reputation.
Did you truly win?â
Ethan was not one to reveal his emotions easily. But Oliviaâs actions almost made him lose his cool.
âHave you ever given it a thought? On the surface, you have humiliated her. But it doesnât change
anything fundamentally.
âEveryone is well aware of how messed up the circle of the wealthy is. It will only be played for laughs.
Her position is not going to be affected.â
âOn the other hand, you would be marked as a mistress if I didnât cover up your face in time.
âYou wouldâve been known as a mistress from today onward. How would you live like that? You
wouldâve won a battle but lost the war.â
Olivia met with his angry gaze and smiled.
âYouâre smiling? Youâre still in the mood to smile? Do you know what couldâve happened?â
âI would be mocked and made fun of by the masses. What else? If things really got to that, wouldnât
you be happy instead? Why are you so mad?â
Oliviaâs words seemed to have struck a chord.
She put her hands around his neck and smiled gently. âI thought you hated me? What? Are you getting
worried for me?â
Ethan pulled her hands down. He said in a flustered tone, âTorturing you is my right. It has nothing to do
with anyone else.â
Olivia suddenly smiled as the cold wind blew at her.
âEthan, would you regret what you have done to me if you found out that my father did not hurt your
sister?â
Oliviaâs words shocked Ethan, causing ripples of emotions to stir in his heart.
Ethan leaned in closer and asked icily, âWhat are you talking about?â
The more the mastermind tried to hide things, the more sure Olivia was that something was wrong with
Leiaâs death.
But one thing she was sure about was that the mastermind must be someone powerful.
He was able to manipulate things under Ethanâs nose.
Olivia decided that it wasnât time for her to reveal the truth yet.
She changed the subject and looked at the horizon. âLook, the snow tonight is beautiful.â
âDid you hear what I said, Olivia?â
Ethan was not a fan of cold winter nights. He preferred sunlight. It brought life to the world. The cold
winter winds only served to devour everything. It covered the earth in one color. Olivia reached out and
caught a snowflake. She was smiling, but her expression was cold. She stood before him and asked
solemnly, âToday is the day our baby died, Ethan.
âHave you ever spared him a thought this past year? For even just a moment?â
Ethanâs arms tightened around her shoulders. He pursed his lips and said, âOlivia, that was our child.
Of course, Iâve thought.
