Chapter 158
Even After Death
The scalding temperature seemed to spread from the back of her hand to every inch of her body. Olivia
was terrified.
âEthan, the islanders are good people. They took great care of me, and they didnât hurt Connorânot
even a little. Connor loves it here. The kidnapping was a misunderstanding. I can explainâ¦â
She didnât try to break free from his grasp. Instead, she begged earnestly, âIâll go back with you, so
please let them go, okay?â
With the cigarette between his fingers, Ethan caressed her head.
He said in a cold voice, âLiv, why are you always making me angry? If you were this obedient from the
start, we wouldnât have come to this point.â
Olivia suppressed her sorrow. She raised her pale face, forcing a smile as tears pooled in her eyes.
âOkay. I wonât run away again. Ever.â
âIs that a promise? What do we do if you run away again?â
Olivia silently looked at him. The tears in her eyes broke his heart.
Still holding the cigarette between his fingers, he held Oliviaâs chin. The burning end of the cigarette
was mere inches away from her skin.
She could feel the heat coming from the cigarette. If she moved even a little, she would be burned.
Olivia could only stay in place, allowing Ethan to speak in her ear. âLiv, if you run away again, Iâll wipe
this island off the face
of the earth. I mean it.â
Olivia closed her eyes in humiliation, tears streaming down her cheeks. âYes, I understand.â
As soon as she finished speaking, a kiss stole her breath. Without holding back, he forcefully invaded
every inch of her.
She didnât want it at all. There were at least a hundred people around them.
The sea breeze came in. With a tug, he pulled her into his arms.
The cigarette fell from Ethanâs hand as he deepened the kiss.
Olivia was filled with embarrassment and humiliation. Ethan knew that, but it didnât mean anything to
him. With this, he would show Jack who Olivia belonged to.
Sometimes, men wanted to win so badly that it was absurd.
Right before Olivia suffocated, Ethan finally let go of her. Then, he glared coldly at Jack before taking
Olivia away like a victor.
Olivia knew very well that this was just the beginning. Ethan wouldnât let her off the hook so easily.
âMama!â Connor ran toward her from a distance away.
When Connor scrambled up to Olivia, Ethan reached out and picked him up. âGo play at the side.â
Connor pouted in dissatisfaction. But since his father had stopped him, he dared not disobey. He could
only look at Olivia pitifully.
He had no idea that Olivia couldnât even protect herself. She was unable to help him.
Ethan handed the child over to Kelvin. Then, he took Olivia into her room.
When the door clicked shut, Ethan forced Olivia against the wall.
Olivia subconsciously tried to struggle. Ethan gripped her hands and raised them above her head. The
manâs leg was wedged between hers so that she was completely trapped.
Ethan grabbed her chin, then whispered in her ear, âDid you fall for that kidnapper?â
When Olivia heard those mocking words, she was extremely upset. She glared at him.
âI didnât fall for him. I just hate you.â
The words pierced Ethanâs heart when he heard them. His halfâclosed eyes were filled with coldness.
âWhat did you say?â
