Chapter 235
Even After Death
Marina reflexively wanted to ask Ethan if it was Olivia, but she held herself back.
Now that they were going to register their marriage soon, she didnât want anything to happen that could
possibly delay the event any further.
She decided to buy it, believing that he accidentally bit his lip.
Even if Olivia had something to do with this, she didnât want to mention Oliviaâs name in front of him.
Marina noticed that he had been acting out of character these days.
In the past, he didnât hide the resentment in his eyes whenever Oliviaâs name was brought up.
However, it seemed like his feelings for her had changed in the past few months. He cared about her
again.
Ethan and Marina hadnât registered their marriage as of now.
Because of that, she didnât want to have a fight with him over this kind of matter.
âItâs a slip of the tongue. Oh, I baked these muffins myself. Try them.â She placed the muffins on his
desk. Ethan looked at them. He knew that Olivia used to make the same muffins for him.
He didnât know how Marina found out about his favorites.
At least, he could tell that they seemed to be the exact same muffins Olivia used to bake for him.
Marina was elated to see that he was staring at them for a while. âIâll make you a cup of coffee.â
Meanwhile, Olivia was watching them through a crevice.
She felt something weird about them. They didnât give off the vibe a couple should have.
Marina made herself busy as if she was a diligent maid who served Ethan.
He held one of the muffins, thinking about Olivia.
It had been a long time since he last ate a muffin she made.
He had a small bite of the muffin. Realizing that it didnât taste the same as Oliviaâs muffin, he put
Marina, who was holding a cup of coffee, showed disappointment. âDoes it taste bad?â
âItâs not bad. Iâm not hungry,â he responded.
11.
She placed the cup of coffee on his desk. âIâll wait for you to finish your work.â She didnât force him to
eat the muffins.
Olivia held her breath for a moment as she thought, âDoes that mean I wonât be able to leave? Heâd
better not agree to that.â
Surprisingly, Ethan said without sparing a glance at Marina, âDo as you wish.â
Marina stood next to the bookshelf, skimming at the books before looking out of the window.
The pedestrians appeared like ants from her point of view.
Ethan worked every day at such a place, like a god that decided the fate of humans.
She felt great.
The thought of becoming someone like him in the future put her in a good mood.
Ethan broke the silence. âI asked someone to look for two tutors to help Connor with his pronunciation.â
Olivia was speechless at that, deeming that it was cruel of him to make that decision.
Connor was barely a year old, but he was going to be tutored soon.

Marina found it inappropriate too. âIsnât he too young for that?â
âNo. Erina can start after she turns three,â he replied indifferently.
Marina heaved a sigh of relief as she subconsciously paid more attention to Erina.
At that moment, Stephanie opened the door.
It was Marinaâs first time meeting her. She frowned. âWho allowed you to enter the office without
knocking on the door first? âAnd youâre going to clean the office when thereâs a guest around? Do you
know the rules?â
Hearing that, Olivia raised her head to look at the incoming person.
Stephanie had a hunched back, and she was skinny.
âIâm sorry. I thought of cleaning the office because Mr. Miller doesnât have any appointments in the
afternoon. I wasnât aware of your visit,â Stephanie explained.
Olivia was shocked to learn that Stephanie knew Ethanâs schedule well.
âI gave Stephanie the permission to do that. Whatâs wrong? Do you have an opinion about it?â Ethan
spoke up before Marina could throw a fit.
