Chapter 337
Even After Death
After she extracted Oliviaâs bone marrow, the woman handed over the test tube to Chris and said, âMr.
Carlton, you can get someone to get this analyzed to see if itâs compatible.â
Chris sighed in relief as a glimmer of hope returned to his eyes. âThanks for your hard work.â
He handed the test tube to one of his bodyguards and said, âGet someone to analyze this right now.
Let me know as soon as the results are out.â
âYes, sir.â
âAnd for the rest of you, guard Olivia well. Donât let anything happen to her.â
âUnderstood, sir.â
Chris finished giving out orders and turned to look at the doctor. âDr. Cohen, if the bone marrow is
compatible, then the operationâ¦â
âDonât worry, Mr. Carlton. Leave it to me. Mrs. Carlton canât afford to wait any longer. Iâll perform some
preoperative examination on this lady so that we can operate as soon as possible.â
âAlright. Thanks, Dr. Cohen.â
âDonât mention it. Can you get these bodyguards to leave the room for a bit?â
Chris glanced at Olivia, who was unconscious. He figured she wouldnât be able to escape, so he said
readily, âSure.â
Only the doctor and her assistant, Jennifer, were left in the room. She looked at Jennifer and said,
âKeep an eye on things
outside.â
âOkay.â
She then injected Olivia with some other drug. Olivia began to regain consciousness slowly. As her
vision came into focus, she saw a white flash.
She had just woken up, and her head was fuzzy from the drug.
She was dazed for a few seconds before she returned to her senses and yelled angrily while
struggling, âItâs you!â
Olivia realized her limbs were bound with metal chains. She glared at the woman angrily.
She didnât expect to fall right back into the palm of her hand after spending so much time in hiding.
âWho are you, really? What grudge do you have against me? Why do you want to kill me so badly? You
even dragged innocent people into this.â
The woman said coldly, âYour entire existence is a mistake.â
The woman didnât use a voice changer this time. She just spoke in a lower register. But the joy in her
voice was still undeniable.
âDonât blame me, but you have to die.â
She ran her hand past Oliviaâs cheek âLook at this beautiful face. Even Marina canât hold a candle to
you. Is this face the reason he loves you so much?â
Olivia felt a cool sensation on her face. She looked and saw a blade held between the womanâs fingers.
She felt a chill down her
spine.
âWhat do you want?â
âI want to â¦â
The woman whispered ominously with a smile, âRuin your face. I wonder if heâll be sad to see that.â
A cool breeze blew in from a window that wasnât shut properly. Its chilling touch caused Olivia to get
goosebumps on her
exposed skin.
But Olivia didnât feel fear. She looked directly into the womanâs eyes and asked expressionlessly,
âYouâre behind everything that has happened to my family, right?â
âThatâs right.â
âYouâre the one who killed Belle too?â
âTo be precise, youâre the one who did it. You made her emotional. I just gave her a little push. She
should be grateful to me.â
Olivia clenched her fists when she heard that. This woman was rotten to the core.
âAre you the one who swapped out my medical examination report?â
âYes.â
âWhy?â
âIsnât it obvious? Someone like you is not worthy of his love. I want to see him push you into hell from
heaven with my own eyes.â
âSo you killed Leia for this? To use her death to jumpstart your plan? She was innocent. What gives
you the right to rule over the life and death of others?â
The woman smirked. âYou talk too much. Never mind, Iâve decided to change my plan.â
She put away the blade and took out another syringe.
âOlivia, this is a newly developed poison. A few drops will be lethal enough to kill you. Donât worry, your
death wonât be too painful. Youâll be dead in under 30 seconds.â
She looked at Olivia condescendingly. She then placed her thumb on the plunger of the syringe. She
said with a cold expression, âIâve growntired of this game. Letâs end it.â
