Chapter 361
Even After Death
Marina was the one who kicked the door open. She approached Olivia with an angry expression.
Raising her hand, she was about to slap Olivia.
âYou bitch, why are you always lurking around?â
Chris grabbed Marinaâs hand. He was utterly disappointed in Marina. He didnât mind if she wasnât
brilliant, and he didnât need her to be obedient either. But she shouldnât be rotten.
Chloe was on the verge of death before her, and she wasnât nervous in the slightest. She even
attacked Chloe.
Now, here she was, trying to slap Olivia for no good reason. Chris didnât understand how his daughter
had become so hateful.
âStop this nonsense at once, Marina. Didnât I tell you not to come here anymore?â
Chrisâ words stirred Marinaâs anger even more.
âLast time, it was that old bitch. This time, itâs the young bitch. Donât forget that Iâm your daughter, not
her.â
Chris struck Marina with a resounding slap. She didnât expect to be slapped. She didnât even do
anything but talk.
âAll these years, Chloe set her daughter aside and cared for you every day. I donât need you to be
grateful, but at least donât bite the hand that fed you. Look at you now, spewing such vulgarities. Why
have you become so vile?â
âIâm vile? What about Olivia? Sheâs trying to sabotage my marriage. Isnât she worse? Sheâs just like her
mother. Theyâre both whores that want to steal other peopleâs husbands.â
Her words upset Chris further. He started to clutch his rapidly heaving chest.
Olivia noticed that something was wrong. She didnât argue with Marina but went to help Chris.
âCalm down, Mr. Carlton. You should sit down and catch your breath.â
Oliviaâs actions triggered Marina, who angrily grabbed her arm and said, âLet go! You stole my
husband, and now youâre trying to steal my father. Why are you so shameless? Why canât you leave us
alone?â
Olivia stopped Chris from trying to get back up and stood between him and Marina. She hadnât spoken
a word to Marina since she appeared. She looked at Marina with an icy expression.
âMarina Carlton, anyone with a brain can tell you who the real third wheel is. I donât want to argue with
you on this. Take a good look at your father. Look at how frail he is now.â
Olivia pointed at Chris and said, âI didnât know Mr. Carlton well back then. But I remember him coming
back to Aldenvine in high spirits. But look at him now. Heâs been working day and night to try and save
his wife.
âNot only are you not trying to help, but youâre also actively causing trouble for him.â
Marina didnât try to understand what Olivia was trying to tell her. She ignored the graying hair on Chrisâ
head, crossed her arms, and said viciously, âHe had it coming. Itâs his fault for not loving my mom.
âSheâs dead now, so all of you should just die too. Chris Carlton, Iâll make you regret these two slaps.â
Marina glared at them, put down the fruit basket she held, and ran off without looking back.
For some reason, Olivia felt uneasy as she watched Marina leave.
Chris rubbed his temple and said with a bitter smile, âSorry you had to see that. Sheâs been spoiled
since she was young.â
Olivia didnât want to talk about Marina. They were sworn enemies, after all.
âMr. Carlton, you donât look so good. You should get a medical examination. You mustnât collapse.â
âIâm fine, I â¦ââ
Chris fell over before he could finish his sentence.
