Chapter 387
Even After Death
Olivia didnât sleep a wink at all. She grabbed her phone as soon as her phone screen lit up in the
darkness.
It was a text from Avery. âAre you asleep yet?â
She got out of bed. Since she didnât want to wake the child, she headed to the washroom to call Avery.
Averyâs gentle voice rang into her ear. âHello. Itâs late, and you werenât asleep?â
âYeah. Did you
find any leads?â
âYes. There are two things I wanna tell you. First, Mr. Carlton and Ms. Rosa are going to meet up soon.
Second, Iâve found something about the person you wanted me to look into.â
Oliviaâs eyes lit up. She didnât hold high hopes of finding anything about that person, but Avery was
surprisingly reliable.
âWho is that?â she asked.
âThe members of Toxic Hive use fake names, so knowing her name is pointless. Her code name is
Begonia. I managed to track her current whereabouts. Would you like to meet up with her before she
moves elsewhere?â
Avery reported his findings with equanimity, but he managed to make her jump out of excitement. She
asked, âCan I?â
âIâm not sure what personal grudges are there between both of you, but I think itâs best if you meet her
in person to recognize her identity. Of course, sheâs a dangerous individual, considering that sheâs one
of Toxic Hive. You have to do as I say to keep yourself safe.â
âOkay.â
âIâll drive to your place to pick you up.â
Terminating the call, Olivia was immersed in bubbles of joy. It seemed like God didnât abandon
her.
She thought she had walked to a dead-end, but another door of possibility was opened for her.
Olivia entrusted Connor to Mina. The latter checked on the time. âMs. Fordham, itâs late. Where are you
going?â
âI have something urgent to settle.â
âBut Mr. Miller has said that itâs best you donât leave the house tonight,â the maid tried to
dissuade Olivia.
Olivia gave the maid a simple explanation, and Mina didnât stop her further.
The bodyguards outside wanted to stop her, but Olivia already hopped into Averyâs car.
She watched the cars that were hot on their heels. She said solemnly, âMr. Avery, could you shake
them off?â
For some reason, Olivia didnât want Ethan to know that she was investigating the matter.
She simply wished to present him with the truth after getting to the bottom of it.
âSure. Hold on tight.â Avery was not any ordinary person.
His complexion seemed pale, but it didnât mask the formidable aura around him.
He stabled himself in his seat as a murderous glint flashed in his eyes.
Their car picked up its speed. Fortunately, there were barely any cars on the road.
Olivia held onto her seatbelt and the rest arm.
Those cars were speeding along the road like a movie scene. She finally had her first-hand experience
of what fast and furious would be like.
When Avery made a drift, she thought her soul would bounce out of her body.
By the time they managed to shake those cars off, she realized that her hands were sweaty.
Avery looked at her gently. âAre you alright?â
Olivia, who had yet to regain her composure, replied, âI-Iâm alright. But my legs feel weak.â
He let out a soft chuckle.
Looking at her pale expression, he caressed her head gently. âDonât be afraid. Iâm here.â
Both of them froze immediately.
He withdrew his hand. âSorry. Youâre almost my sisterâs age, so I saw you as my younger sister for a
moment back there.â
