Chapter 412
Even After Death
Marina was distressed to hear that both her parents had died overnight. However, because of her
body, she couldnât even attend the funeral.
The entirety of Aldenvine seemed to be enveloped in gray fog.
When Otto learned that both his son and daughter-in-law had died, he was so shocked that he had to
be hospitalized. Hence, Chrisâ funeral was held in a hurry.
Under the gray sky, Olivia spotted a woman in black clothes. The woman was holding an umbrella as
she stood in front of Chrisâ grave for a long time.
There was a terrifying expression on her pretty face. She didnât expect that Chris would choose to die
with Chloe in the end.
She had been scheming for so many years, but in the end, it was all in vain.
She didnât get the desperate plea she expected from Chris. He had chosen to die and express his
feelings in this manner.
In the end, Helen didnât get what she wanted.
Olivia walked up to her. âIs this the ending you wished for?â
Turning around, Helen glanced at her. âItâs you.â
She was slightly surprised. She didnât expect Olivia to be here.
âIâve been here for a long time, waiting for you. Mr. Carlton asked me to give you this letter.â
Helen reached out to take it, but Olivia didnât give it to her. Instead, Olivia continued, âBack then, you
were the one who swapped Marina out. You should know who my biological parents are, right?â
Helen narrowed her eyes. âAre you threatening me?â
âNo, this is just a trade. Tell me about my parentsâ whereabouts, and Iâll give you this letter. Would you
like to spend your whole life not knowing how Mr. Carlton felt about you?â
Helen gave
Olivia a dark look. Then, she lowered her voice and said, âIâll never tell you about your origins. But
hereâs a friendly reminder. If you want to stay alive, stay put in Aldenvine.
âIf not, youâll be dead before you know it.â
With that, she turned around and left. She didnât ask for the letter.
Olivia ran after her. âDonât you want the letter anymore?â
Helen said coldly. âI canât. I canât afford to pay the price.â
âWhat price would you pay to tell me the truth?â
âAnyway, you should mind your own business. Keep being a daughter of the Fordham family. If not,
you wonât be able to bear the consequences.â
With that, Helen left without even looking back. Olivia stuffed the letter into Helenâs hand.
Helen was stunned for a moment. Then, she nodded at Olivia before disappearing along the silent
mountain path.
Holding an umbrella, Olivia gazed at Chloeâs grave. Then, she placed some flowers in front of it.
âDonât worry, Mom. Iâll live my life to the fullest.â
Olivia could see that the circumstances were quite complicated in her original family. It was full of
danger as well.
Just then, her phone rang. Olivia picked up the call, which was from the hospital.
âHello.â
âHello, Ms. Fordham. The results of the kidney compatibility test you did at the hospital are out.â
Olivia rubbed between her eyebrows. Too many things had happened lately, so she almost forgot
about this.
âHow is it?â
âCongratulations, Ms. Fordham. The results are very successful.â
Olivia was stunned for a moment. Then, she finally registered what was going on. A look of elation
appeared on her face.
âThank you. Please help me keep it a secret for now.â
She immediately called Avery to tell him about the good news.
Meanwhile, Avery was already on the way to the airport when he received Oliviaâs call.
âMr. Avery, I have good news for you. Our kidney compatibility test is a success. Where are you right
now?â
Avery was dumbfounded for a moment. His voice was trembling as well. âW-What did you just say?â
âMr. Avery, can I use my kidney to make a deal with you?â
