Chapter 421
Even After Death
Olivia had started to feel insecure. People close to her were leaving her one by one. Jeff was the only
reason she wanted to live. She put all her hopes on Jeff; she couldnât let him leave her too.
She wanted to wipe Jeffâs body, but her right hand was completely useless. She canât even wring a
towel dry with it.
Colin saw the disappointment in her eyes. He wrung the towel and handed it back to her.
He comforted her patiently, saying, âOlivia, you donât have to rush things. Ethan didnât hit any vital
areas. Thereâs still a chance your hand might recover. You need to rest.â
Olivia smirked. âAm I supposed to be grateful to him for that?â
She looked at her limp arm and said coldly, âMy biggest regret was I was too slow and failed to kill that
crazy bitch Leia.â
She recalled the pain in Leiaâs expression and her refusal to utter a sound. It was abnormal.
âOlivia, she doesnât have it good either. Her body is not in good shape.â
âAnd you think I have it good?â Olivia smiled bitterly.
âOlivia â¦â
Colin paused, then sighed. âThings will get better.â
Oliviaâs world was plunged into the dark, but a glimmer of hope lit up within her when she looked at
Jeff. âThatâs right. I still have my father. Things will get better. Iâm not alone.â
âRest well tonight. Iâll operate on Mr. Fordham tomorrow morning.â
âOkay.â
That night, Olivia didnât get a wink of sleep. She was filled with excitement and anxiety.
She confirmed with Colin again, asking, âYouâre sure nothing will go wrong, right, Colin?â
âIâm sure. You donât have to worry, Olivia. Iâve done detailed examinations on Mr. Fordhamâs body. The
success rate for the operation is very high.â
âThatâs good.â
âNaturally, a cranial surgery would be more delicate and complicated. You must be patient. Itâs going to
be a long surgery.â
Olivia nodded and began her wait outside the operating room anxiously.
Avery handed her a cup of warm water and said, âDonât be afraid. Leoâs an amazing surgeon.â
âYeah.â
Some of the anxiety Olivia felt was alleviated. Smiling sheepishly, she said, âSorry you have to see me
like this, Mr. Avery. I â¦â
Licking her lips, she said, âIâve lost a lot in less than three years. My status, family, child, relatives, and
even my hand. As you can see, Iâm almost completely useless. I only have my father left. So, itâs my
only wish to see him come out of the operating room safely.â
Avery met with her depressed gaze and patted her on the head. âThere, there.â
âIâll do the kidney transplant with you right after my father wakes up,â Olivia reassured him.
âI told you, thereâs no need to rush.â
âIâm grateful that you helped me so much. Iâll feel relieved that I can at least help you with one thing.â
As they gazed at the clouds, Avery asked, âDo you have any plans for the future?â
âIâll rest with my father on this island. And after he recovers completely, I â¦â
She paused. Avery looked at her, asking, âWhat will you do?â
Olivia shook her head with a smile. âNothing.â
âOlivia, if you have nowhere else to go, you can come to Zelotria. My hometown is a charming seaside
city. Iâm sure youâll love it.â
âAlright, Iâll visit if I have time to spare.â
