Chapter 459
Even After Death
Olivia opened her mouth to argue.
But then, she remembered that Connor didnât understand these things at all. So, there was no point in
explaining.
Moreover, she only wanted him to live peacefully and grow up in bliss.
Soon, Connor closed his eyes. He leaned against Oliviaâs chest, sleeping soundly.
There was even a sliver of saliva on the corner of his mouth.
Reaching out, Olivia wiped it away. She gazed at him with a gentle look.
She wondered if the baby in her tummy would look like Connor when they were born. After all, they
were both Ethanâs children.
âLiv.â
In the silent night, Ethanâs voice sounded a little hoarse and weary as it broke the silence.
Oliviaâs expression turned cold. She didnât say anything, waiting for Ethan to continue.
Ethan cleared his throat.
After thinking for a long while, he finally spoke. âConnor likes you, and I know you like him too. You can
treat him like your son.â
Olivia snorted. âMarinaâs leg is broken, so she canât take care of children for you. Now, youâre trying to
get me to take care of your son. In your dreams!
âWho said that I like him, anyway? Get away from me. Go to your daddy.â
With that, Olivia shoved the innocent Connor into Ethanâs arms to prove that she didnât like him. She
even spoke in a fierce tone.
Connor smacked his lips in his sleep, looking like a little bird. He moved closer to warmth, reaching out
to grab Ethanâs shirt.
He even mumbled, âMommy.â
Olivia instantly felt guilty and sighed. She didnât know what she was doing. She shouldnât have taken
her anger out on the innocent child.
In the dim light, Ethan could see the guilt on Oliviaâs face.
He knew that Olivia had always been a kind person.
Ethan gently pushed the child into Oliviaâs arms. He wanted Connor to spend more time with Olivia.
âLiv, this is what children are like. No matter how many times you push him away, heâll still run up to
you and call you âMommy.ââ
Olivia averted her gaze, but she didnât push Connor away. Instead, her fingers subconsciously wrapped
around the childâs waist, pulling him closer.
But she still spoke defiantly. âHah, Iâm not his biological mother, anyway. If I want children, I can. give
birth to them myself.â
Her words had ended the conversation.
Ethan didnât mention it. Instead, he looked tenderly at her.
âLiv, I know that you love children. Weâll have more children in the future.â
When Olivia heard that, she felt a chill run down her spine.
She turned to look at Ethan.
Ethanâs face was filled with tenderness, and the emotions in his eyes seemed to envelop her.
Olivia frowned in dissatisfaction.
âDo you think Iâll forgive you after everything that happened between us? Wake up, Ethan.
âYou canât fix a broken mirror, just like how you canât turn back time.
âDo you think I had peace of mind when I stayed with you?â
The man reached out to her. His slender fingertips touched her eyebrows, smoothening the creases of
her frown.
His voice was soft to a fault. âLiv, Iâm not like you. No matter what you do to me, I will never blame
you.
âEven if you betray me, I will never let go of you.â
Olivia felt a sense of discomfort. She looked coldly at Ethan.
If it was only a feeling just now, this time, she could sense that Ethan was hinting at something.
She wondered if he already knew.
Ethanâs hand slowly moved to her back. Olivia was creeped out, and she almost jumped.
âCalm down, Liv. I wonât hurt youâ¦â
His gaze was weirdly obsessed. But from his thin lips came the most touching words in the world.
âI love you. No matter what you become, Iâll always love you. I will never let you go, not even after
death.â
