Chapter 465
Even After Death
Olivia was not the only person refusing to give him the phone all this time. Ethan did the same thing,
too.
Jeff could guess an inkling of the situation from that.
After all, he was a grown man, not a three-year-old kid.
She hurriedly said, âDad, some things did happen while you were in a coma. Iâm planning to tell you
about it one by one after you recover.â
His fingers trembled when he heard that.
âI knew that something bad had happened. I woke up, and your hand is disabled! Your relationship with
Ethan is bad as well. What happened?â
Noticing his vehement emotions, she quickly helped him to sit.
âDad, look. This is why I didnât wanna tell you. Itâs nothing big. I had a fight with him because of
some matters.
âDidnât you see him begging me for forgiveness the whole day? If it was a serious matter, we wouldâve
parted ways already.â
Only then he was able to keep his cool. âYouâre right. Ethan keeps promising me that he wonât let you
down. So, what happened between the two of you?â
âDad, Iâll tell you in a few days. You barely show signs of recovery.
âHave you forgotten what the doctor said? That you canât take a shock at the moment?â
She poured him a glass of warm milk. âActually, those matters are over. Itâs normal for married couples
to fight.
âIf thereâs a problem, solve it. Itâs that easy. Iâm big enough to handle it.â
âOkay, but you must tell me if anyone treats you badly. Even if Iâm not in the state to do anything, I will
make sure he pays for it.â
Olivia faintly smiled. âGot it. I know that you love me the most in this world.â
He glanced at Jeffâs hands, which werenât trembling that much anymore.
She shook the doubt off her head.
It wasnât the right time to ask, so she decided to wait for some other day.
âRest
up,
Dad. I should get going.â She took a deep breath after leaving his room.
Everyone wished to know the truth, but most of the truth was a painful reality.
Standing on the balcony, she reached out to touch the rain. She watched the storm happening, hoping
that everything would be fine tomorrow.
The next morning, Olivia forwent breakfast and headed to the hospital alongside Mona.
Mona kept chattering like a singing bird.
âOlivia, what would you like to have after the checkup later? I can prepare it for you.
âItâs a rare chance to be outside. Letâs grab something nice.
âIt must be boring to have bland food every day. Why donât we have something different?â
Something crossed her mind, prompting her to lick her lips. Her eyes lit up in anticipation.
Joy rubbed off on Olivia as she said, âAnything.â
In the end, Mona bought her a lot of street food. They were Oliviaâs favorites during her schooling days.
After the nurse drew her blood, Mona handed them to Olivia.
âYou have other checkups later. Eat up!â
âOkay.â
Now that Olivia was free, she texted Calvin. After confirming that there were no issues, she finally dug
in with peace of mind.
Following that, she entered the ultrasound room, which she had previously been before.
It was the same doctor who was looking at her with a gentle smile.
âLie down, and I can start checking on you.â
âThank you.â
âItâs not a big deal. Here we go.â
Olivia was on tenterhooks, worrying that the baby wasnât growing well.
When the doctorâs expression suddenly changed, Oliviaâs heart squeezed. âDoes something matter?â
âYes, and itâs a big problem.â
