Chapter 525
Even After Death
As soon as Olivia woke up, her first reaction was to quickly back away. She even covered her tummy
with her left hand.
Ethan saw how wary she was of him. He felt his heart shattering into a million pieces.
âCalm down. I only wanted to touch the children.â
Olivia didnât believe it. She spoke viciously, behaving like a hen protecting her chicks. âGet out.
âOkay. Donât get so worked up, Liv. Iâm leaving right now.â
Olivia hissed.
Then, she frowned a little. Ethan paused halfway through his way out. Then, he hurried up to her and
asked, âWhatâs the matter? Are the children kicking again? I felt them moving a lot just now.â
âIt hurtsâ¦â
Olivia put a hand to her tummy. Ethan was startled by the sudden occurrence.
âDonât be afraid. Iâll get a doctor here to examine you right away.â
Fortunately, they had the equipment necessary for examinations. The medical team immediately
started examining Olivia.
Olivia gripped Ethanâs hand. Beads of sweat covered her forehead.
She recalled that day more than a year ago when she lost her child to premature birth.
She trembled uncontrollably, calling out Ethanâs name.
âEthan, the children. You have to save our children.â
âCalm down, Liv. I donât see any blood, so they should be fine.â
No matter how Ethan comforted her, Oliviaâs mind was stuck in extreme fear.
After the examination, Cody finally let out a sigh of relief.
âItâs okay, Mrs. Miller. There is nothing wrong with the children so far. From their heart rates, we can
see that the children are a little more active.
âItâs most probably because of your emotions. Were you startled today?â
Ethan supported Olivia, wiping away the sweat on her forehead with a towel.
In his arms, Oliviaâs body relaxed when she heard that it wasnât anything serious.
âYes, something did happen. Are the children alright?â.
âFor
now, yes. Pardon me for saying this, Mrs. Miller. Youâve indeed made it past the first three
months.
âBut you should still be careful throughout your pregnancy. Every move you make will affect the
children.
âSo, please try to avoid strong emotions. It might negatively affect the childrenâs development.â
Olivia nodded, feeling a trace of lingering fear. âGot it, Dr. Wells. Sorry for the trouble so late in the
night.â
âItâs okay. This is my duty. Take a breath and have a good rest.â
âAlright.â
Knowing that the children were fine, Olivia relaxed. Ethan carried her back into the room.
He sat by the bed, looking tenderly down at her. âAre you scared?â
âThereâs nothing to be scared about.â Olivia looked away stubbornly.
But as soon as she closed her eyes, she would remember the dream she had just now.
She was standing by the water when she heard an unfamiliar womanâs voice calling out to her. âSia,
Sia.â
When she turned around, she saw a skeleton instead. It was the corpse that was carried out of the
broken boat.
Olivia jolted away. She looked at Ethan, still feeling cold all over her body.
She wondered if she was too concerned about this, which caused her to dream of the corpse.
Seeing how stubborn she was, Ethan sighed helplessly.
âDonât be afraid. Iâll be keeping watch over you outside. Have a good rest, even if itâs only for the
children.â
He didnât dare to affect Oliviaâs emotions too much. After speaking a few words of comfort, he left.
Cody stood upright in the yard. She must have been waiting there for a while.
When she saw Ethan coming out, she stepped aside respectfully. She said in a small voice, âMr.
Miller, I couldnât say much just now with Mrs. Miller around. I would like to talk with you. Itâs about her.â
âCome with me.â
