Chapter 643
Even After Death
Olivia blushed. It was true she ordered a lot of food, but she didnât finish them all.
She only took a few bites of each. But her stomach was tiny, and she was bloated after that.
Janice rolled her eyes and said, âDonât eat if youâre full. The Millers wonât go bankrupt because you
wasted some food. Even if they do go bankrupt, it will have nothing to do with us.â
Olivia was stunned. Janice was different from what she imagined.
âSorry, I thoughtâ¦â Olivia wanted to come clean.
Janice finished Oliviaâs sentence for her. âYou thought I would be hard on you, and you wonât get to eat
much when youâre here. So, you filled yourself up before you got here.â
âYes, Iâm sorry.â
âNo need. I was planning to make things difficult for you.â
Olivia was at a loss for words. Why was Janice such a wild card? She didnât even know how to
respond.
âTruthfully, I also ate beforehand because I thought I would lose my appetite at the sight of you. So, if
youâre full, walk with
me.â
Olivia couldnât refuse Janiceâs invitation. She wiped her mouth and stood up. âOkay.â
Ethan was the only person left with the feast at the table. He saw that Janice wanted to talk with Olivia
alone and recalled the traumatic events of his third birthday. He immediately stood up and went in front
of Olivia.
âAre you afraid that Iâm going to hurt her?â
âIâm afraid you might push her down the stairs.â
Janice paused momentarily, then said, âHow can you talk to your mother like that? I should never have
given birth to you.â
Ethan said, âI didnât want to be born into this family, either.â
After all, his mother tried to kill him on more than one occasion. Their relationship didnât just crumble
overnight.
Janice sighed and said, âIâll admit I made a lot of mistakes in the past. I was unwell back then.
âBut Iâve grown past that now. I will never commit the same mistakes again. If you still canât trust me,
then you should come walk with me.â
Janice and Ethan walked away and left Olivia alone. She didnât mind. She sat back down and started to
eat some fruit.
A maid approached her and said, âMrs. Miller, your room is ready. You can rest in the room if youâre
tired.â
âOkay.â
Olivia followed the maid upstairs. Even though she had seen how rich Ethan was, she still gasped in
surprise when she saw that her room was larger than an apartment.
As expected, the rich lived lavishly. The bathroom was almost as spacious as an entire room.
There was a huge jacuzzi that could fit at least four to five people.
Olivia felt like it wasnât a jacuzzi but rather an aquarium. They could probably fit a dolphin in there.
The maids had already filled up the jacuzzi. One of them even brought over a medkit.
âMr. Miller said that your bandages needed to be changed.â
Olivia waved her hand and said, âLeave it there. Iâll do it after Iâm done bathing. Please leave me alone.
I can do it myself.â
âYes, Mrs. Miller. You can ring the bell if you need us. Weâre here to help you out whenever.â
The maids bowed and left the bathroom.
Ethan was walking behind Janice steadily in the yard. They cast long shadows onto the ground as they
walked.
âI think this is the first time weâve taken a walk together.â
Ethan lowered his head, and his hair covered the gleam in his eyes.
âWell, I used to run after you when I was young, but you would kick me away.â
He was only one year old then. He opened his arms to hug his own mother, but she kicked him away.
Janice stopped in her tracks and looked at her son, who was taller than her.
âYou look a lot like that man.â
âSo you hated me because of that?â
Janice stood there in silence. She knew her actions were unforgivable. So she changed the subject.
âI heard you found your sister?â
