Chapter 680
Even After Death
Faced with Oliviaâs questions, Darrell smiled victoriously. He looked like victory was finally in his
hands, hence erasing his past shame.
âCalm down, Olivia. Ethan shares the same blood as mine, so why would I hurt him? I especially
went to save him, but he was severely injured. Theyâre still trying to save his life.â
âHow is he exactly? Where is he?â
Harold touched the beads on his bracelet. âYou say that heâs in your hands, so whereâs the
evidence?â
Darrell took out his phone and then played a video that lasted a few seconds. In the video, a man
was lying on the bed, and he was seemingly going through an emergency rescue.
He wore an oxygen mask on his face, and he was surrounded by doctors. Everyone could see that
the face was Ethanâs.
âHow is he right now?â
âAfter the emergency rescue, his life is no longer endangered. You donât have to worry about that.
Ethan is an important pawn under my control, so how can I let anything happen to him?â
Having gotten the upper hand, Darrell decided to quit pretending. He blatantly called Ethan his
pawn.
âHow can I believe you with one video?â
âOf course, you donât have to believe me, Grandpa. But since you refuse to acknowledge me as one
of the Millers, heâs not my older brother either.
âIf the doctors refuse to do their best, you canât blame me for that.â
âYou jerk!â Harold grabbed Darrellâs collar, a furious expression appearing on his face.
But Darrell remained calm. âDonât get mad, Grandpa. You shouldnât ruin your health over this. I
donât want to do this, but itâs your fault for not acknowledging me.
âI only want to take back the things that rightfully belong to me.â
Edmund and Olivia came forward to calm Harold down as well. They feared that he might have
âGrandpa, sit down and take a break. You can take your time to discuss it. Itâs fine as long as Ethan
is still alive.â
âYes, Mr. Harold. You have to take good care of your body at crucial times like this.â
Harold panted heavily, finally managing to adjust his breathing. âLet me see him.â
âI canât do that. If you know where he is, Iâll lose this ace up my sleeve. Just acknowledge me as part of
the Miller family at your birthday banquet, Grandpa. Then, Iâll let you see Ethan.â
Harold glared at him with a vicious look. âAs expected, youâre just like your mom. Youâre all
ambitious scum.â
Instead of getting mad, Darrell smiled. âFor the Millers, a cruel person has more potential, right,
my wonderful grandpa?â
Harold could only agree to his demands for the moment. After all, if Darrell was telling the truth,
Ethan was on the brink of death. It wasnât the time for Harold to be concerned about those things.
Having received the answer he was expecting, Darrell smiled. âThank you for being understanding,
Grandpa. Thatâs more like it. Weâre a family, so we shouldâve behaved like this.
sooner.
âSo, you wonât object if my parents and I move back, right?â
Harold suppressed the rage in his heart. âDo whatever you like. Iâve already agreed to your
requests, so show me more of Ethanâs videos. Itâs best if you can let him video call me.â
âEthan has just undergone an operation, so he hasnât woken up yet. I canât arrange for a video call,
but videos should be fine. Iâll ask someone to send more later.
âYou donât look too well, Grandpa. Should I help you back to your room to rest?â
âNo need!â
âFine. Iâm busy with loads of stuff, after all. I donât have time to spend with you. Edmund, get someone
to prepare three rooms,â Darrell said in a commanding tone.
Edmund glanced at Harold. Then, he said in exasperation, âAlright.â
âI hope that when you talk to me next time, youâll call me Mr. Darrell.â
