Chapter 733
Even After Death
Sharon was standing a short distance away. She noticed the conflict and quickly came over to bring
Olivia away.
Before she left, she glared at Ethan disappointedly. She didnât understand why he would do something
like that.
The tension had barely eased a little, and he managed to make things uncomfortable so quickly.
Brent approached Ethan and said, âMr. Miller, you canât rush things. The more you rush, the more likely
youâll get disappointing results.â
Ethan sighed. âIâm just afraid she doesnât have the will to live. I just want to give her a reason to live.
âI thought seeing Connor would trigger her maternal instinct, but things didnât go according to plan.â
âMr. Miller, you should stop trying. Mrs. Miller is already in a terrible state. You canât rile her up again. You
should tell her about Master Connor next time.â
âI guess thatâs my only option.â
Ethan crouched down and lifted Erina up. Although he hated Marina, Erina was the only baby Kurt left
behind.
Because of that, Ethan took good care of her.
Marina slowly approached Ethan in her wheelchair. She said tentatively, âEthan, Iâm just here to visit Ms.
Fordham. I donât have any ulterior motives.â
âDaddy, Mommy misses you a lot,â Erina said timidly.
âGood girl.â Ethan patted Erina on the head.
For some reason, Olivia suddenly turned around. She saw Ethan carrying Erina in his arms like a loving
father and smiling gently.
The four of them looked like a close family when they stood together. The sight of that was quite jarring
to Olivia.
So, this was how Ethan wanted to show his love for her. It was laughable.
Sharon quickly explained, âMrs. Miller, donât misunderstand. Mr. Miller only has eyes for you.â
âPlease stop saying that, Sharon.â
Olivia felt disgusted by those words.
Olivia was sent back to her room. Naturally, Ethan didnât allow Marina to visit her, but he was also shut
out.
Sharon stood at the door and said coldly, âItâs Mrs. Millerâs orders, sir. Please donât hold it against me.â
âLiv misunderstood. I want to explain to her â¦â
âDo you really think your explanations would work? In her eyes, youâd just be telling her more lies. I beg
of you. Stop doing things that would upset Mrs. Miller.â
Ethan was rendered speechless. He did a lot of things, and he did them in hopes of helping Olivia. In the
end, everything he did just made things worse.
Sharon felt bad for him when she saw how devastated he was..
âMr. Miller, youâve been here for days. You should go home and rest. Stop causing trouble for Mrs.
Miller.â
Ethan didnât want to add fuel to the flame, so he took Sharonâs advice and gave Olivia some space.
Sharon went back into the room. Olivia was lying in bed, deep in thought.
âMr. Miller has gone home, Mrs. Miller. He will be giving you some space for now.â
Olivia didnât respond. She just looked into the distance. Sharon felt bad for her when she looked at her
frail silhouette.
âSharon, I want to get discharged.â
Sharon quickly explained, âEven if the chemotherapy is done, your condition is still unstable. You need to
be kept under observation at the hospital.
âIf youâre missing home, we can go back after youâve recovered a little more.â
âHome?â
Olivia smiled bitterly. âThe Miller Residence isnât my home.â
She stared blankly at the ceiling. She said with a hollow voice, âNowhere is my home. I lost my home
long ago.â
