Chapter 772
Even After Death
Back in the Fordham residence, Averyâs life was finally no longer In danger. Troy heaved a sigh of
relief.
âAvery, you finally woke up. You donât know how worried I was that you might not regain
consciousness.â
Avery had just regained his consciousness, hence the pale complexion.
He gave Troy a comforting smile. âHow could I leave you behind? Look at your hair. Youâre like a
disheveled lion.â
Troy was a designer, so he dressed fashionably.
He didnât clean himself up during the days he was looking after Avery. Therefore, his golden hair was a
mess, and he looked like an ungroomed Husky.
âCanât believe youâre joking right now, Avery. Look at how unlucky you are.â
âHow am I unlucky? Iâm still alive, so I think Iâm lucky.â
Troy snorted. âIt wasnât easy to look for someone who was willing to donate a kidney that matches
yours.
âWho knew that such an accident would happen?â
âItâs not like he asked for it. We canât do anything about the car accident.â
âYouâre too kind, Avery. I contacted the donor half a year ago. You shouldnât have cared that it was from
the black market.
âIt doesnât matter as long as you can stay alive. Even if they didnât sell it to you, do you think those
people couldâve lived? Theyâll just be given to someone else.â
Troy was speechless when he brought that up.
*Avery, about that, our family has indeed been unlucky these years. Our younger brother is involved in
a car accident. Although he managed to survive it, his legs were paralyzed.â
Avery smiled helplessly.
âItâs alright. I believe that weâll be able to wait for someone whoâll do it out of their own will. Right, has
anything happened recently?â
Troy thought of something. âOh, Ms. Fordham contacted you before.â
âMs Fordhamn? Do you mean Olivia?â
âYeah.â
âIt must be something important. Donât forget that our family owes her a big one.â
âI know, Avery. I asked her, but she didnât say anything. I didnât ask much because you were in trouble
at that time.â
âThere must be something going on on her side.â
Avery called Bryce over, asking the latter to look into it to see if Olivia needed help.
Bryce was shocked after looking into it.
Avery was drinking water. âWhat? Is she in trouble?â
Looking at the deep frown on Bryceâs face, Troy urged, âWhatâs the matter? Speak.â
âMs. Fordham She⦠Bryce couldnât bring himself to say it aloud.
Avery became tense after noticing Bryceâs expression. âWhat happened? What happened to Ms.
Fordham?
âShe passed away a few days ago.â
The glass in Averyâs hand fell onto the floor. He couldnât believe his ears.
âWhat did you just say? She was doing fine. Why is she suddenly gone?â
Bryce recounted what he had found out.
âMs. Fordham passed away due to cancer. I think she contacted you to ask if you have a better idea.
âIn the end, she couldnât tolerate the agony and ended her life by jumping into the sea.â
Oliviaâs face appeared in Jeffâs head. He didnât expect that the rushed farewell would be the last time
they met.
He couldnât even bid goodbye to her for one last time.
âIs her funeral over?â asked Jeff gruffly. âI would like to send her off for the last time.â
âIt is over.â
Jeff sighed deeply, expressing his pity. âWhat a shame.â
