Chapter 872
Even After Death
The bodyguard rushed toward Everly and was able to grab her hand in time.
âMs. Hilton, please donât do this. We wonât be able to answer to Mr. Synder if you die.â
âFuck off. I donât care about that. Iâll never be his match when Iâm alive. Iâll definitely haunt him and all of
you after I die.â
Everlyâs voice was very loud. It didnât sound like she was a dying person at all. Iâm even wearing pure
white clothes. Iâll turn into the scariest ghost there is. Boy, you better not wake up at night, or Iâll scare
you to death.
The bodyguard was rendered speechless.
âIt was supposed to be a serious situation, but he almost burst out in laughter. Why was Everly so
funny even when she was trying to die?
âLaugh if you want to. You donât have to hold it in.â
âStop joking, Ms. Hilton. I will not let you die.â
âYoung man, do you know whatâs one thing you can never control?â
âDeath?â
Everly said with a composed expression, âNo. Stocks.â
âMs. Hilton, thatâs not a very funny joke.â
âWhat about this? Let go of me at the count of three.â
âIâm not going to do that.â
âI have a little bit of cash stowed away in my bag. Let me go, and you have half of it. Use the other half
to buy me flowers at my funeral.â
The bodyguard shook his head.
âI canât do that, Ms. Hilton. If Mr. Synder finds out that I did that, he will kill me as well.â
âDo you have a big appetite?â
I guess I have a normal appetite?â
âThen I donât mind. You can be my bodyguard in the afterlife as well. At least we wonât be lonely that
way.â
The group of people that were standing behind them didnât know how to react to the conversation.
Suddenly, a phone rang, and it ended the conversation.
âMs. Hilton, itâs your phone.â
âIt must be that bastard Henry. Iâm not taking that call. Just tell him Iâm dead. Iâll talk to him at night.â
âNo, no. Itâs not Mr. Synder. Itâs an unknown caller.â
âThen it must be an insurance salesperson. Tell him itâs too late. Iâm dying soon. Insurance wonât be of
any use.
âWhy would anyone try to sell you insurance at this hour? It must be someone important.â
Everly yelled at him, âWhy would I not record an important personâs number? If itâs not an insurance
salesperson, it must be my landlord asking for rent.
âI wonât be paying rent. Iâm dying soon, anyway. Ask him to get the money at my grave.â
The bodyguard was getting desperate because Everly wasnât listening to him at all. He had no idea
how
Henry was able to keep her under control.
The bodyguard took the call and put it on speaker.
A womanâs voice rang out. âEve, are you there?â
Everlyâs eyes widened when she heard the voice.
âSay, do you guys think Iâm hallucinating? Why am I hearing the voices from the afterlife when Iâm still
alive?â
âWhat afterlife? Eve, where are you? Itâs me. Iâm not dead,â Olivia said anxiously.
Everly looked at the bodyguard and asked, âDid you hear what she said?â
The bodyguard didnât care who was on the other end of the phone.
He noticed that Everly got very excited, so he quickly answered, âShe said she isnât dead. She asked
you where you are. And, what afterlife?â
