Chapter 875
Even After Death
Upon meeting again, Olivia seemed more cheerful than before. She would even crack a joke or two.
Everly patted her on the head. âYouâve finally put that relationship behind you Iâm so happy for you.â
âThatâs right. I used to feel like my life was a living hell. Every day was torture for me.
âEver since I was reunited with my child, it was like a fog had lifted. Life was worth living again.â
Everly stared at Olivia with envy in her eyes. âThatâs nice.â
âYouâre not getting any younger. Have you not met anyone you wanted to date?â
Olivia asked that question because she noticed that Everly seemed like she loved children.
She seemed to sense that Everly felt uneasy when she brought that up.
Everly would try to change the subject quickly every time.
âAlthough Iâm as beautiful as ever, and countless people want to be with me. But Iâm too busy. I have
no time for relationships.â
Olivia smiled. âSo, should I be honored that a busy person like yourself took the time to meet with me?â
âWeâre such good friends. Iâll make time to see you even if Iâm going to kill myself.â
âDonât say that. Youâre still as unhinged as ever. Donât you know these things might come true if you
keep saying them?â
âWhy have you become so superstitious after Iâve not seen you in a couple of years?
âI seem to remember you saying you never believed in things like that.â
Olivia picked up her cup of warm tea and took a couple of sips.
âThat was because I was young. I thought I would be able to change the world. Iâve succumbed to
reality time and again.
âIâve come to realize my insignificance. No matter how hard I try, I wonât be able to change my fate.â
âWeâre still so young. Why are we talking like old geezers?â Everly asked as she propped her face with
her hand.
âI guess this is the price of growing up.â
âTell me the truth. What are you planning to do next?â
Olivia said in a resigned tone, âI want to pay Keith back.â
âBut Ethan would know youâre alive if you do that.â
Everlyâs expression turned serious when the topic was brought up.
No. He should have already known that Olivia was still alive.
So many people witnessed Oliviaâs phone call to her.
Henry also knew she was coming to meet Olivia. If he knew, Ethan would also know.
âI donât care if he knows. If thatâs my fate, I accept it.â
Everly looked at Olivia with a pained expression. She knew how hard Oliviaâs life had been.
âLetâs not dwell on these unhappy memories on the day of our reunion. Come, letâs raise a toast to our
reunion!
Everly raised her cup of tea and said, âOkay. Letâs get wasted tonight!â
They smiled as they looked at each other. It was like they were back in their university days again.
But both of them knew those days were behind them.
Olivia asked, puzzled, âI thought you loved iced beverages. When did you start drinking warm ones?â
Everly scratched her head and said, âI let myself go too much in the past. I used to drink cold
beverages in the winter.
âIt would hurt very badly when my period comes
âIâm not getting any younger, so Iâm trying to take care of my health now. Look, I even carry a flask of
herbal tea around.â
âYou shouldâve made this change long ago. Iâve been telling you not to drink so many iced beverages.
âYouâve finally learned your lesson. I guess you have to learn from experience.â
Everly put a hand on her stomach subconsciously. A complicated glint flashed in her eyes.
âI wonât make this mistake again. Iâve learned my lesson.â
