Chapter 899
Even After Death
Noticing Oliviaâs silence, Ethan continued, âI did do a lot of things that hurt you in the past, and I canât
do anything if you insist on leaving me
âBut other than being your ex-husband, I am also the father of your children. Even in court, I can have
custody of them or even visitation rights
âDo you think itâs fair to strip me of all those rights just like that?â
When Ethan said that, Oliviaâs expression shifted. âYouâre trying to snatch the children from me now?â
If they truly took it to court, she couldnât win against Ethan in terms of qualification. Oliviaâs calm
expression began to waver.
âDonât be upset, Liv. It was just an example. I didnât mean to snatch the custody rights of the children
from you Ethan hastily coaxed Olivia.
âI just want to tell you my obligations I also have the responsibility of protecting you and the children.
âOn the island, you can relax and focus on healing, and the children can grow freely as well. Youâll all
be safe
Olivia lowered her gaze, thinking for a long while. âAlright, I agree. But I have one condition.â
âGo ahead.â
âEverly was also emotionally hurt. I want to bring her with me for a change of pace. We can look out for
each other, too.â
âSure. Iâll have it arranged.â
Ethan didnât see the victorious look flashing across Oliviaâs lowered gaze.
It wasnât a bad thing to be overly familiar with him. She could guess Ethanâs plans right away.
âOne more thing. I want to see Logan.â
Ethan had an upset look on his face. âLiv, if it werenât for the special circumstances that night, do you
think Iâd let him live?
âYou want to see someone like that, but have you ever considered my feelings?â
âI just want to make sure that heâs still alive.âFine. Iâll send you there.â
After paying the bill, Ethan walked out. It was already completely dark outside.
Snow dufted below the streetlights, and it looked extra romantic.
Ethan sent Olivia to the hospital. Joshua was keeping watch in the corridor. Youâre here, Ms. Fordham.â
Olivia hastily asked. âHowâs Logan now?â
âHe had dialysis last night, and heâs still in the ICU right now. But donât worry, his life is not at risk
anymore.
Olivia couldnât get close, so she could only peer through the glass. She could see the silhouette of a
man lying on the bed a distance away.
Olivia transferred some money into Joshuaâs account. She also told him to take good care of Logan.
Olivia didnât have any feelings for this man, only gratitude.
After that, she walked out of the hospital. Ethan was standing by the car, smoking.
The fiery red flickered at his fingertips.
The white smoke covered his face, hiding it from view.
He probably didnât expect Olivia to be out so soon. He put out the cigarette right away.
Disregarding the snow piling up on him, he held an umbrella and walked over to Olivia.
âHe has already passed the life-threatening stage, and heâll get better after he rests for some time. I
told you I wonât hurt him.â
Olivia had confirmed it with her own eyes, so she was reassured.
Nodding, she said, âAlright. Please take me back, then.â
âLiv, can I see our son?â Ethan had a pleading look on his face.
When they were on the ship, he played with their daughter every day. But Zack was a mischievous boy
who got separated from him after a fleeting look.
Olivia looked at the time. âItâs too late. Heâs already asleep.â I'll just take one look at him, Liv-*
âNo need for that.â
Clivia declined coldly. Since she had decided to walk that path, she would not soften her heart. She
wouldnât look back, and she wouldnât hesitate.
