Chapter 974
Even After Death
Willowâs eyes were extremely clear. It reminded Ethan of when he first met Olivia more than a decade.
Back then, he was wondering how a personâs eyes could be this clear.
The thought only stayed in his mind for a second, and it quickly disappeared.
Many people looked alike in this world. The woman who assassinated him looked quite similar to
Olivia, too.
Moreover, his Alicia must be five or six years old now. How could Olivia give birth to a child with green.
eyes?
He must have missed Olivia so much that he started seeing things.
Ethan knew that there were lines on his face. The girl was probably scared of it.
So, he put on a gentle expression as he said, âWillow, youâre the one who saved me, right? Thank you.â
Willow shook her head, but she didnât let go of his hand. She feared that if she let go, Ethan would fall.
âYou canât speak?â
Willow nodded.
For some reason, Ethan felt his heart ache for her.
Reaching out, he touched her face. âI can take you away from here. I can get you to the best hospital in
the world so that you can get treatment.â
Even though the people in the village were skilled in making antidotes, illnesses like being unable to
speak should be examined with medical equipment.
Seeing that Willow didnât respond, Ethan smiled again.
âDonât worry, I wonât hurt you. If youâre scared, you can tell your mom about it when sheâs back.
âMy offer always stands. Iâll make sure that even if I die, someone will still cure your illness.â
Willow felt sad, and she didnât know how to reply.
Perhaps this position was too tiring, so Ethan sat down and gasped heavily for breath.
Seeing how much pain he was in, Willow wished she could give him her blood again.
Reaching out, Ethan grabbed her hand, which was holding a knife.
He shook his head at her, saying, âItâs alright, kid. Thanks.
âYour blood only deals with the symptoms, but it wonât cure the root problem. It wonât be able to save
me in the end, so donât waste your blood on me.â
He knew that the blood he drank would extend his life by a day at most.
Even if Willowâs blood was all drained, it would only last him two weeks at most. He would still have to
die in the end.
Willow looked at him worriedly.
He smiled faintly. He knew that in his remaining time, he wouldnât be able to make it out of this village.
So, he wanted to leave some instructions while his mind was still clear. He didnât want to leave just like
that.
âWillow, do you have some food? Iâm hungry.â
Willow nodded. Then, she ran off quickly.
Ethan waved Brent and Kelvin over. Brent hastily asked, âWhat are your orders, Mr. Miller?â
Ethan had a calm look on his face. âGive me a pen and some paper. I want to write a will.â
When Kelvin heard the word âwillâ, he couldnât maintain his poker face anymore.
He had been keeping it in for the past two days. And that had gone to waste as his eyes instantly
reddened
âMr. Miller, you donât have to write a will. Youâre fine. Youâll be fine!â
Now that things had come to this point, Ethan was even calmer than before.
âI only have a little more than a day to live. After a lot of hard work, I finally arrived at this village.
âEven if I leave the village, I have to waste about a day to do it. If her mom comes back as soon as I
leave, thereâs not much point in leaving for me. I would rather stay here and wait.
âIf she doesnât come back in the end, Iâd like to leave behind some instructions. I canât die without
making things clear,â
âMr. Millerâ¦â
âGo get the things, Brent.â
Brentâs eyes were slightly red. âUnderstood.â
Joelâs eyes were red as he said, âSorry, kid. I couldnât help you this time.â
âUncle Tucker, Iâm very grateful to you. Youâre right. There will come a day when youâre unable to do
anything. I guess this is my fate, then.â
