Chapter 117
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 117 So You Know How to Cajole
Sean couldnât help but notice
the change in Abigailâs eyes. It triggered the memory of something Kevin had confided in him earlierâ
that Abigail didnât like him. The thought knitted his brows in
concern.
The look in her eyes turned into that of apathy. âIf she wonât make a public apology online, weâre not de
signing anything for her, and weâll destroy the ones weâve made for her. Trust me.â
âDo you have to go to such lengths? I-â
She cut him off shrilly. âI donât want to hear any explanations. L.Moonâs success hinges on Alanaâs repu
tation. What Joanâs doing is tantamount to ruining someoneâs livelihood. Itâs almost like murder in
a way, do you get it?â
He asked, âAre you mad because Iâm defending her? Is that why youâre going after her?â
She replied coldly, âI couldnât care less if there were rumors of a scandal involving you and Joan
staying at any hotel.â
Sean took a deep breath, his eyes locked on Abigail. He asked, âAre you willing to say anything just
because she wonât apologize? Is L.Moon that important for you?â
âYou think sheâs innocent? Fine. Once I uncover the truth, letâs see how you can defend her.â She avoid
ed answering his question, turning her gaze toward the window. She didnât want to talk to him. anymore
, realizing he was just a flaming heap of disappointment.
âDo you still want to resolve this, Abigail?â he asked.
She turned around, her frustration evident as she snapped, âDonât threaten me. What else can you do b
esides threatening me? Why does the set have hidden cameras? Why is there a voice
recorder? Why can she edit the video and slander Alana?â
Abigailâs eyes blazed with anger as she walked closer to Sean. She enunciated sharply, âYou resorted t
o underhanded tactics just to get Alana on your show. So, you better protect her. She owes you nothing
, and you expect her to sit quietly when her reputation is on the line?â
He knew she was mad, and he pulled her into his embrace. âWeâre already looking into it. Why are
you so mad?â
She was still livid, so when he hugged her, she froze momentarily and shoved him away. âLet me
go!â
He gently patted her back and, for once, adopted a persuasive tone. âThis is the production teamâs over
sight. Iâve dispatched my team to locate the original video. Iâll prove your innocence.â He could understa
nd why she was so mad. She was Alana, after all. Of course, she was aggrieved after being slandered.
Abigail struggled to break free, but Sean held her close to his chest. âAlright, calm down. You have a
show to attend,â he continued.
She felt her throat tighten. She clutched his clothing and exhaled. âI donât care. Joan
canât be our model. Weâre replacing her with Nina.â
âI made a promise to her, so I canât change her out,â he said calmly. Still, she tried to break free again,
and he looked at her. âIn exchange for her being your model this time, you can name any
request.
âFine. Then make an apology video and post it online,â she said, reining in her anger. âFor both her slan
der attempts at Alana.â
Sean looked into Abigailâs eyes and nodded. âFine. Iâll talk to her.â
âAnd I want fairness this time. Anyone involved in the smear campaign must be removed from the
show,â she insisted.
âOf course,â he agreed.
She looked at him and thought, He can do anything just for Joanâs future. Then, she mocked, âJoan me
ans a lot to you, doesnât she?â She smiled sardonically as she pushed Sean away.
âWhy are you bringing that up again?â He frowned.
Abigail shoved him away and sneered. âStill playing dumb, I see. Forget it. Focus on your job. We have
nothing more to discuss.â
Sean was about to respond when a knock interrupted him. He frowned but opened the door nonetheles
s. It was Kevin, and Sean impatiently asked, âWhat do you want?â
âStill arguing, I see?â Kevin appeared curious, having heard the heated exchange from outside. He was
worried they might split up.
Sean responded coldly, âJust get to the point.â
Abigail approached from behind and pushed Sean out of the room, slamming the door shut. Kevin
stood there in shock, staring at the closed door. He turned to Sean, who was frowning with pursed
l*ps. Kevin asked. âIs she angry?â
âYes, she is. I failed to cajole her,â Sean admitted, thinking she might be jealous.
Kevin mumbled, âMaybe Joan shouldnât have led that crusade this morning. This has nothing to do
with the models or designers. Canât believe they were trying to call the shots on our behalf.â
Sean looked at him coolly and returned to his room, with Kevin quickly following.
âThe internet is suspecting Alana. If Abigail finds evidence of their innocence, this wonât be easy to
resolve. After all, Luna did impersonate Alana. How can we spin this narrative?â
