Chapter 183
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 183 Youâre Slapping Her Face
âI will compensate her the most for this matter,â Sean replied.
âSean, have you always been like this? You donât understand at all what it feels like when something
you love is replaced by something you dislike. You only care about your own feelings and donât care
about how others might feel.â The manâs voice was filled with sarcasm.
âSo, are you saying that Joan has always been like this?â Sean questioned him.
âWhat do you mean?â The manâs tone suddenly became displeased.
Sean asked him coldly. âYou know very well what I mean. Why hasnât she been willing to apologize to
the people she caused trouble with on the show until now?â
âIs that her fault?â The man retorted. âYou clearly knew that my sister liked you, but you intentionally
flirted with another woman on the show. She posted on Instagram, and you deliberately embarra*sed
her.â
Sean leaned back in his chair and asked him indifferently, âI never said she could flirt with me.â
âWhen my sister opposed your marriage back then, why didnât you consider how she would feel? Sheâs
a girl too, and she can have feelings for someone. Is that her fault?â The man questioned sharply.
âDid your sister tell you about her first love?â Sean sneered.
âFrom what youâre saying, youâre disavowing her first love, arenât you? You promised me to treat her
well just to use her, and once youâre done, you can throw her away like trash. Sean, can you justify
everything Iâve done for you?â the man asked with disappointment.
âDonât you know how I treat your sister? Do I need to use her?â Sean countered coldly.
Without Joan, he and Abigail wouldnât have reached this point.
For Joanâs future, he never revealed everything, even if Abigail misunderstood him.
âSean, my sister has told me that sheâs fallen for you a long time ago. This is all your fault. Arenât you
going to take the responsibility?â The manâs voice was icy and stubborn.
âAre you suggesting that I promised to take care of her and then made a mistake in taking care of her?â
Seanâs bitter voice carried a hint of sarcasm.
âWho is responsible for this situation? You know better than I do.â The man hung up the phone directly
after saying that.
Sean-held his phone and squinted at the computer screen.
It seemed like there was no way to resolve this matter amicably.
Sean sent a message to Cameron, who was out on business. âThereâs no need to find variety shows
for her.â
When Cameron returned, Sean handed him a card. âTell Joan that there is 4.5 million in this card. Her
affairs are no longer my concern.â
âOkayâ¦â Cameron accepted the card without understanding the reason behind it.
Not long after this incident, Abigail received a gossip call from Luna.
âAfter Joan came and caused us trouble, Sean completely ignored her! How strange is that!â Lunaâs
voice was filled with curiosity.
Abigail was a bit surprised. âHow did you know?â
âKevin told me⦠Ahem!â Luna said somewhat awkwardly.
Youâre on good terms with him.â Abigail continued embroidering without stopping her
movements.
âUghh⦠Thatâs because he didnât ask for too much in breach of contract fees. Itâs all part of the
business. You know, we have to keep in touch.â Luna firmly decided not to tell Abigail that she kept
contact with Kevin, mainly for Abigailâs sake.
After all, Abigail and Sean had not divorced yet, so when she couldnât find her, she could still ask Kevin
for information.
âMm⦠Do you know the reason?â Abigail asked in a soft voice.
âI donât know the reason, but itâs a good thing for you, isnât it? Sean doesnât want to divorce, and itâs
complicated with Joan, which is off-putting. Heâs-â
âAre you suggesting that heâs having a change of heart?â Abigail interrupted Luna.
Luna unintentionally became more serious. âUm⦠I respect all your decisions.â
âAlthough I donât know the reason, I donât think he would easily abandon Joan like that,â Abigail said
calmly.
Based on her understanding of Sean, she felt that what happened between him and Joan seemed
more like a temporary conflict
âAlas⦠I donât know whatâs so good about Joan. Sheâs like a haunting spirit,â Luna mumbled.
After hanging up the phone, Abigail lowered her gaze to the embroidery pattern she was working on,
shook her head, and cleared her mind of all the cluttered thoughts.
In the evening, as she was leaving the embroidery studio, a person blocked her path.
The person wore a duckbill cap and a black mask. He was dressed in casual military green and exuded
an unsettling aura.
âWho are you?â Abigail instinctively took a step back.
attire
âI heard you were looking for artisans for your boss, Alana, right?â the man asked Abigail while
intentionally keeping his head down, as if afraid of being recognized.
âYes.â Abigail nodded.
She indeed needed artisans to help with some accessories for the clothes she was making, but the
manâs words didnât put her at ease.
âCome with me. Our boss wants to see you, the man said, then turned to walk away.
Abigail didnât follow him but returned to the embroidery studio instead.
She glanced at the man standing in the shadow under the tree through the gla*s door.
She couldnât see his expression clearly, but she couldnât shake off the feeling of uneasiness.
