Chapter 197
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 197 No Longer Her Sole Focus
âThank Josh for me.â Abigail smiled.
âThis is a gift from Josh. Carry it with you for safety Lynette handed a square wooden box to Abigail.
Abigail thanked her again. It turned out that she had managed to form her own circle of friends
unbeknownst to her.
For the past three years, her life had revolved around Sean. However, now he was no longer her
sole focus.
Eric pulled Lynette behind him by the collar and stepped forward, asking concernedly, âWhat
happened? How are you feeling?â
âIâm fine, but things are a little complicated and hard to explain,â she replied.
heard that things like this happen a lot. Even some tourists who go to Cloudgrove for vacation would
get scammed by cab drivers and trafficked abroad. Anyway, you have to be careful when going out.â
Lynette chimed in.
Indeed, Abigail had seen such news while browsing through social media. Many people who went in
search of jobs were deceived to head abroad but couldnât return. Nonetheless, she had no intention of
revealing her own situation.
âStrangely, you were brought to Cloudgrove from Quisford,â Eric remarked with a frown.
âItâs still under investigation. Besides, Iâm fine now,â Abigail explained to Eric.
Eric looked at Abigail and asked, âActually, Josh found it strange when you didnât return to the hotel the
next day. He and Lynette went to the hotel you stayed at and discovered that you never returned. Did
the cab driver kidnap you?â
Lynette didnât expect that he would be so honest with Abigail, so she nudged him. âWhat happened to
keeping things on the down low?!â
Abigail looked at them with a puzzled expression.
âMiss Quinn, can you tell us in detail about what happened? Perhaps the Davidson and Pearson.
Families can help you.â Eric ignored Lynette and asked Abigail with a serious expression.
Lynette pursed her l*ps, silently reprimanding Eric for being unable to keep a secret.
âIf you put it that way⦠Do you still think Iâm the child the Pearson Family lost?â Abigail asked gently.
âFirst and foremost, we are also friends. You donât have the ability to find out the truth, but we do.â Eric
stared fixedly at Abigail, anticipating her answer.
âEven if I accept your help, I canât possibly be the Pearson Familyâs lost child. I know they might be
anxious⦠but Iâm not.â Abigail couldnât deny that her grandparents treated her well and. couldnât find it
in herself to accept the fact that she wasnât the Quinn Familyâs child.
Moreover, judging by how much they loved her, they would certainly tell her the truth if she were not
their grandchild.
âI understand. Iâm just trying to help you find the source of danger,â Eric replied hastily.
âThank you.â Then, Abigail told them what happened that day and repeated what happened next,
including the fact that Luna was being watched.
âAbout that, can you help me dig into someone?â Abigail whispered to Eric.
Lynette quickly leaned forward. âWho is it?â
Joan Palmer. I want to know about her backgroundâ
To tell the truth, Joan was the only person Abigail suspected. Since Sean couldnât find out who that
doctor was, it meant the other party was unwilling to reveal their identity. Besides that, she had an
intuition that this matter had to be connected to Joan.
âSure.â Eric immediately nodded in agreement.
Once the two came out from the ward, Lynette put on a stern expression and asked unhappily, âJoan
Palmer. Is she Abbyâs husbandâs mistress?â
âKeep your voice down⦠Abby still doesnât know that we already know everything about that woman,â
Eric softly reminded Lynette.
âJoan Palmer, right? How dare she steal Abbyâs husband? See that I donât rip her to shreds!â Lynetteâs
charming face was twisted with hatred.
âDonât rush to teach her a lesson yet. You have to follow up on Lexieâs side first,â Eric said before
leaving.
Once they left, Cameron appeared from the corner and watched them leave while calling Sean.
âWhatâs the matter?â Seanâs cold voice came from the phone.
âLynette Pearson from the Pearson Family and Eric Davidson came to visit Mrs. Graham. They say
they know everything about Mrs. Graham. Should I investigate them?â Cameron sounded very
respectful.
âIncluding the fact that she and I are married?â Seanâs tone became serious. If Eric had long since
known Abigail was married, why would he hate me so much? Is it because he wants to intervene in our
marriage?
âIt seems like it. Lynette said she wanted to teach Joan a lesson and stand up for Mrs. Graham,â
Cameron replied.
Sean pondered for a moment and asked, âWhy are the Pearsons getting involved in this?â
Cameron also found that strange. It would be normal for Eric to find out everything about Abigail
because he liked her. Still, the Pearsons wouldnât get involved in this matter because they supported
Ericâs decision to intervene in Abigailâs marriage, right?
âLook into the Pearson Family.â Sean hung up after giving that order.
That night, Sean returned to Ouisford to pack up the things Abigail left in the hotel and brought them
back.
He arrived at the hospital late at night.
She looked at him wearily as he brought in the luggage and a few wooden boxes.
âWhat did you buy?â Sean was curious but hadnât opened any of the boxes on the way.
Abigail held her hand out, looking at him playing with the box containing the antique puzzle ball. âGive
me the one youâre holding.â
Sean threw it to her. âCome clean. Who is this gift for? Some man you fancy?â
