Chapter 212
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 212 Pushed to the Brink
Sean sat down beside Abigail.
Cameron came forward and said courteously to Luna, âLetâs give them room to talk.â
Without acknowledging him, Luna got up and headed toward the stairs.
Once they were out of earshot, Sean yanked at his tie and replied, âI want to talk to Grandma. myself.
Why does she want us to get a divorce? Doesnât she like me?â
âAre you implying that just because she likes you, she should forgive your grandmother for what she
said to her? Donât you think youâre being too self-centered?â Abigailâs voice was charged with fury, her
eyes welling up and her b*dy trembling.
âAfter all, she has taken care of me, and itâs only right that I see her and apologize,â Sean replied in a
deep, melancholy voice.
Abigail knew that Sean had treated Analise fairly well all this time, even though he didnât like fter.
Analise deserved an apology, but Abigail knew that an apology couldnât resolve this situation.
With hatred and disdain in her eyes, Abigail declared, âMy grandma has nothing to do with you.
anymore! I thought my compromise was for the benefit of both our elders, but it seems it only benefited
your grandma! My constant willingness to compromise was nothing but a joke! Nothing. you say or do
now will make a difference!â She pondered, I shouldâve gotten the divorce a long time ago. If I hadnât let
things drag out this long, nothing of this wouldâve happened today.
Seanâs mood was at an all-time low. He knew she wouldnât be receptive to anything he said now. After
a brief silence, he said hoarsely, âOnce Grandma wakes up, Iâll confirm things with her. Then, weâll get
a divorce.â
However, he didnât get a response from her.
Analiseâs surgery lasted three hours, but her condition remained unstable. She was wheeled to the
intensive care unit, but Abigail was denied entry.
âWe can only confirm the patientâs condition when she wakes up. Considering her age, her recovery
will depend on various factors,â the doctor in the ICU explained patiently.
Abigail nodded. She was still beside herself with concern.
The Pearsons and the Davidsons also learned about Analiseâs condition. When Eric brought Josh and
Lynette over, Abigail felt a headache coming on.
Analise would faint from anger once more if she woke up and saw them.
âHowâs your grandma?â Eric asked Abigail with concern etched on his face as soon as he saw her.
âSheâs in the ICU. The doctor said that even if she wakes up, it doesnât mean sheâs completely out of
danger,â Abigail answered..
Sean stood aside, eyeing Josh coldly.
Josh had been standing behind Eric the whole time. Compared to the panicked Lynette and concerned
Eric, Josh seemed calmer.
âEverything will be fine,â Eric comforted Abigail. âYouâre her only granddaughter. Iâm sure she wonât
leave you behind like that.
She felt a bit better hearing his comforting words. Thank you.â
In the meantime, Sean was irritated to see Eric and Abigail engaged in conversation.
âYouâve been here for many hours, Abby. I heard you havenât eaten since you came to the hospital.
Why not have lunch with Josh and Eric? Iâll stay here and help you keep an eye on things,â Lynette
offered caringly after squeezing in beside Abigail.
âIâll just order some food later.â Abigail didnât feel good about leaving Lynette alone here. Moreover, she
would be even more anxious if Lynette stayed with Analise. After all, she didnât understand Lynette
enough to know whether or not she could be trusted.
âAbby, I think a walk would be good for you. Donât put too much pressure on yourself. Who will take
care of your grandma if you tire yourself out?â Lynette had a knack for saying the right things.
âItâs just lunch. Weâll come right back afterward,â Eric added.
Sean was about to speak when he heard Josh say, âLetâs have a chat, Mr. Graham.â
This caught Abigailâs attention, and she glanced at them.
Sean replied coldly, âI have nothing to say to you. Iâve asked Cameron to buy lunch for her, so you
need not be concerned about that.â
Based on Cameronâs information, Sean did not think Josh was worthy of Abigailâs trust.
In an amused tone, Eric asked, âWhatâs the matter? Canât her friends express their concern for
her?â
Abigail suddenly turned to Eric, saying, âLetâs go eat.â
Eric lit up with joy and nodded swiftly. âSure. Letâs go.â
A frown appeared on Seanâs face, but before he could voice his thoughts, Abigail told him. âYou
and Cameron can have a meal together, Sean.â With that, she turned and left.
After a glance at Sean, Eric followed her.
Josh eyed Sean coldly. Once Abigail and Eric were out of earshot, Josh said curtly, âPreviously, all
Abby had was her grandma, but that wonât be the case anymore.â
Sean didnât respond. He continued to stare in the direction where Abigail had gone.
When Josh thought Sean wouldnât respond, Sean abruptly asked, âDoes Eric have feelings for Abby?â
Lynette looked at Sean with detest in her eyes and grumbled, âDoes Abby not deserve to be liked by
someone? Does she only deserve to suffer at your hands?â
