Chapter 213
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 213 Too Late
Sean hesitated to respond to Lynetteâs question.
Josh cast one final glance at Sean before departing.
Seeing as no response would be forthcoming, Lynette scoffed and sat on the side. She thought, Iâm
going to stay right here today. Iâll prove to Abby that she can rely on me!
Abigail and Eric briefly waited in the hospital lobby before Josh caught up with them.
âWhy are you guys here?â Abigail asked coolly as soon as Josh approached.
âWe were worried about you, so we came over to check on you,â Josh replied.
He wasnât great at communicating and didnât know how to interact with her. The thought of her possibly
being his sister made him nervous. He didnât know what to do with himself.
Noticing Joshâs anxiety, Eric spoke for him, saying, âWe were worried youâd get bullied if you were
alone. We know Seanâs grandma is the reason your grandmaâs in the hospital.â
Abigail nodded, appearing despondent. âIâm fine. I wonât let anyone bully me.â
âWhy donât we grab a bite to eat?â Josh suggested.
She agreed with a hum.
While eating, Abigail scarfed her food down. She was worried about leaving Analise in Lynetteâs
care.
Plus, Abigail agreed with what the others had said. She needed to keep herself in good shape,
thinking, If something happens to me, who will care for Grandma? Besides, the studio needs meâ¦
Also, Lexieâs gown hasnât been completed yet. I donât have time to wallow in sadness.
Eric and Josh expressed deep concern for her, who appeared noticeably thinner. She bore a heavy
burden, which was clear to both of them.
She finished her meal in less than ten minutes. âIâm done. Iâm heading back to the hospital. Youâve
seen what you came to see, so you should go back now. It wonât be good if Grandma sees you when
she wakes up.â She stood up and said to Eric and Josh.
âUnderstood,â Eric said with a nod.
especially at this time. Analise had an aversion to their company, especially to Josh. As a result, they
couldnât visit her,
âRemember that no matter what happens, weâre always on your side,â Josh said.
Abigail acknowledged with a hum, though she didnât take his words to heart. Their concern and
protectiveness felt more like a burden to her than a source of happiness.
Back in the hospital, she put in considerable effort to convince Lynette to leave.
Sean was still there. Now that he was finally alone with Abigail again, he couldnât help asking. âAbby,
can we have a proper talk?â
She had been agitated since his return but now looked calm, eyeing him coldly, showing no interest in
talking. âWhatâs there for us to talk about? Her tone conveyed her rejection.
He looked serious. âDo we have to get a divorce?â
In the past, whenever she brought up the topic of divorce, he had been confident it wouldnât ome to
pa*s. He used to be carefree, but not anymore. This time was different. It wasnât just a matter between
them now; their families were also in the picture. He couldnât make unilateral decisions about their
relationship.
âSean, my near-death experience is unresolved, and my grandma is injured now. Must your grandma
harm everyone in my family before you consider divorce? Whether itâs Joan or your grandma, they act
boldly because of you!â she accused, her gaze unwavering.
Abigail knew she could never reconcile with Lina. Just thinking of Lina reminded her of what happened
to her grandmother. Her resentment was permanent, and she could never forgive Lina for her actions.
âAbigail, Iâll make amends for your suffering and your grandmaâs,â Sean vowed, clenching his fists.
Even his jaw was tense. âAnd Joan and I were never in a relationship. Youâre the only woman Iâve ever
been involved with.â
It was true that he bore responsibility for the conflict between their families.
She scoffed and looked away. âWhatâs the use of saying these things now? Sean, from the very
beginning, I shouldnât have chosen to marry you. Itâs my fault. I forced you to marry me. It was wrong of
me. You donât love me. I deserve to suffer at your hands, but three years is enough. Please release me
from this. Iâm begging you to spare me. Iâm begging you to spare my grandma.â
He pursed his l*ps tightly. Finally, he said hoarsely, When Grandma wakes divorce proceedings.â With
those words, he felt his heart shatter.
As he left the hospital, the sunlight felt more piercing than ever.

is she doing? When Sean arrived at Graham Estate, Colby immediately asked about Analiseâs
condition. âHow
âSheâs not out of danger yet,â he replied grimly.
Colby held his shoulder and said, âI didnât know your grandma would head over to Abigailâs

grandmaâs place. I didnât think things would turn out this way.â
âItâs not your fault, Grandpa. Weâre just not meant to stay together,â Sean said evenly.
There was no point in saying anything more. Given the circumstances, the outcome was bound to
change, regardless of who was to blame.
