Chapter 262
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 262 Thunderstorm Coming
Abigail leaned into the couch as she stared at Luna,
who was admiring the peacock overtone pearl excitedly.
âI planned on using those thousand pearls to design a gown. Weâre selling it for 8 hundred.â Abigail told
her.
1-
âThis is the second most expensive dress aside from the one for Lexie. But the color of this pearl is exp
ensive, let alone your design. You can draw the design first, and weâll work on the rest later.â Luna walk
ed to her side with anticipation on her face.
âI wanted to get some normal pearls to design a dress, but I discovered this surprise instead.â Abigail
miled, satisfied with the trip to Eastbay.
âThis is so beautiful.â Luna could not resist and touched the pearl Abigail gave her.
âTake your time admiring it. Iâm heading home.â Abigail stood up and told her while pinching her face lig
htly.
âOkay. Rest well. Donât worry about rushing the design.â Luna stood up with her. Then, she muttered, âIâ
ve got to find myself a jewelry designer now so I can wear this baby soon!â
Abigail could not help but laugh. Compared to the peace on her side, there was a thunderstorm on Ericâ
s side.
As soon as he posted his statement, Josh immediately called him. âWhy didnât you discuss this with me
before posting on Twitter? Even if you disagree with the marriage, we should discuss this. Youâve upse
t Kelly now,â Josh said and sighed.
âYou told me not to take the words of elders as edicts, but you keep meeting me for Kelly. Iâve always c
ome up with an excuse. You should know my feelings. I know you hope I can treat her like how I treate
d Abigail, but I just canât do it.â Eric did not deny that he hurt Kelly.
He simply harbored no feelings toward Kelly, nor could he transfer a part of his feelings for Abigail to he
r.
âYouâre too impulsive. Kellyâs just returned, and your statement embarra*sed her. My parents dote on h
er, and your actions will cause endless problems for Abigail, do you understand?â Joshâs voice went chi
lly.
He would not interfere if Eric wanted to pursue other things. However, Eric mentioned that he disagreed
with the engagement, which was akin to disrespecting the elders of both families just for Abigail.
At first, the elders of both families thought they had the wrong person and felt bad for intruding on Abig
ailâs family. So, they pretended not to know that Eric went to Eastbay to find her, but now,
Joshâs father was furious since Kelly was dragged into this.
Eric calmed down and frowned. After a long time, he said in a low voice, âIâll protect her. No matter wha
t they do, I wonât let them harm Abigail.â
Josh sighed. âYouâre so stubborn. If you want to pursue her, you should do it slowly. Iâll comfort Kelly. Yo
u should talk this out with your parents so they wonât find trouble with Abigail.â
Even if Abigail was not Joshâs sister or Ericâs
originally appointed fiance, their desire to protect her had never changed.
After hanging up the phone, Josh was still frowning with his phone in his hands.
âJosh.â Kellyâs voice rang from behind him.
When he turned around, he hid the worry on his face and replaced it with a doting smile. âWhatâs up?â
âDid my return make things difficult for Eric? I saw his post. Iâm impressed by him and envy Abigail. If p
ossible, Iâll tell her I just got to know Eric and hope sheâs not affected by the negative news.â Her big ey
es were filled with obedience.
Then, he walked toward her and patted her head. âItâs fine. Eric can handle his problems. Abigail doesn
ât wish for us to disturb her. Oh, sheâs the same age as you, so itâs not right to call her sis.â
âOh. Okay. I know now.â Kelly lowered her eyes like an obedient child.
Joshâs heart ached at her response as she had just returned to the family, yet behaved like she was wa
lking on eggshells even though the whole family treated her well. She was obedient
and looked like a puppet.
She was told about the marriage between the Davidsons and Pearsons by their parents. Josh had wan
ted to meet Eric to see if there was chemistry between the two. If there was not, then they would think
of a solution. Unexpectedly, Eric refused to meet him and went to Eastbay, leading to such a thing happ
ening.
âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâll return to my room, Josh.â Kellyâs voice once again brought Josh back from h
is thoughts.
âOkay. Rest well. You donât need to worry about this. Your return is the next best thing. Everything else
can be discussed. Weâll prioritize your feelings. Even Eric isnât as important as you.â He
nodded.
In other words, he was implying to her that the marriage promise between both families could be chang
ed. If Eric was not agreeable to the marriage, the Pearsons could always propose
terminating the marriage contract without considering the Davidsonsâ feelings.
