Chapter 286
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 286 Do You Believe Yourself?
Analise used to make some for Sean as well.
However, he would no longer have his share.
Instead of asking for permission to visit Abigailâs home for dinner, he offered, âIâll send you back. You d
onât need to worry too much about Grandmaâs matters. She has her own affairs, and interfering too mu
ch may make her feel restricted.â
While Sean didnât know why Analise had to go to Capitalis, he believed that she wasnât foolish enough t
o go there just because of Chadâs threats.
She must have had her own reasons for going.
âI know,â Abigail replied softly.
âGrandma is an adult. She has way more experience in this world than you do. Itâs not wrong to be con
cerned, but you also need to trust her,â Sean added.
Analiseâs determination to take those routes daily in preparation for her task demonstrated her strong r
esolve.
Sean believed that Abigailâs personality was largely inherited from her grandmother.
Once Abigail decided to do something, she would see it through, even if it took a lot of time and effort.
âCameron, since you helped me deal with the trouble from Chad, Iâll share some pasta with you that my
grandmother made as a token of my appreciation. I know youâre not short on money, and my grandmot
herâs pasta isnât worth 300, but itâs still a token of my appreciation.â Abigail completely ignored Sean an
d continued to chat with Cameron.
Cameron shot Sean a sideâ
eye glance and agreed instantly. âKind gestures are priceless, and besides, it wasnât right for me to use
violence to hurt others. The fine was justified. We canât always resort to violence to solve problems.â
âDid you write a selfâreflect essay? Why are you so obedient?â Abigail teased.
âI was severely punished. Initially, I was supposed to stay a few more days in the lockâ
up, but Mr. Graham intervened and a*sured them I wouldnât repeat my mistakes, so they released
me,â Cameron explained, scratching his head and looking embarra*sed.
After saying that, he realized that he had revealed too much.
Abigail nodded, her expression turning serious. âThank you.â
Sean threw Cameron an indifferent glance before following Abigail to the parking lot.
Once they arrived at
Abigailâs home, Sean stayed in the car, watching Cameron and Abigail enter the apartment building tog
ether.
Shortly after, Cameron returned to the car with some pasta. Then, he handed it to Sean. âThese are me
ant for you, Mr. Graham. Mrs. Graham just couldnât bring herself to say it,â Cameron explained nervousl
y.
Sean glanced at him, his tone aloof as he muttered, âDo you believe yourself when you say that?â
Cameron found himself at a loss for words.
âIf itâs a token of gratitude meant for you, then keep it. Grandma makes good pasta,â Sean said before
averting his gaze.
âWell then, Iâll heat some for you at your place, and Iâll take the rest,â Cameron insisted, not wanting to
enjoy Abigailâs gift alone,
âIn that case, go ahead and heat it up at my place, and weâll eat together,â Sean replied coolly before cl
osing his eyes and resting against the car seat.
Cameron drove slowly and was unable to resist asking, âWhy didnât you tell Mrs. Graham the truth?â
Sean remained silent for a long time before answering, âIf Grandma doesnât want her to know, then we
should respect her wishes. Weâll just keep a close watch.â
On the first day of her grandmotherâs absence, Abigail had a restless night plagued by chaotic scenes i
n her dreams. As a result, she felt mentally exhausted throughout the following day.
At 6.30PM, Abigail arrived at the address sent to her by Anthony.
To her surprise, the gathering took place at the same prestigious restaurant they had visited before.
As soon as she got out of her car, she saw Anthony waiting for her at the restaurantâs entrance.
He instantly walked down the stairs upon noticing her.
She also noticed that he was wearing a white suit today, which was reminiscent of the one Sean had w
orn before. While Anthony looked stylish and handsome, Abigail thought Sean had a more commandin
g presence.
âYouâre here. Whatâs wrong? You donât look too good,â Anthony commented with concern as he approa
ched Abigail. He couldnât help but notice her tired appearance.
Abigail had even taken a nap in the afternoon, but, as she found out from Luna, she still looked as drai
ned as she did earlier. It was as if someone had sucked the life out of her.
âI didnât sleep well last night,â she replied while walking toward the restaurant.
Anthony followed her, a smile playing on his l*ps. âBecause of the alumni reunion?â
âNo, itâs personal. How many cla*smates are here today?â Abigail asked, glancing at him from the corn
er of her eye.
âAlmost everyone who is in Pendorf is here. Weâve reserved a large table for more than ten people,â A
nthony explained, showing a certain eagerness for the reunion.
âI didnât expect so many cla*smates to stay in Pendorf for work,â Abigail murmured.
As they entered the restaurant, a car pulled up at the entrance.
Cameron glanced at Sean and asked, âAre we still going in?â
âLetâs wait for the clients to arrive,â Sean replied calmly.
On the second floor of the venue, Abigail noticed that the dining tables were quite large, likely intended
for banquets.
Soon, she spotted her grayâhaired lecturer.
Upon seeing her, the mentor immediately wore a gentle smile and scholarly demeanor. âHello, Abigail. I
tâs good to see you, but why do you look so pale?â
âI didnât sleep well last night, Madam Mora. Itâs been a long time since we last met,â Abigail replied, feeli
ng somewhat reserved.
âYes. Youâve been quiet since you graduated, and you donât even participate in the alumni group chat.
Aside from your design job, what have you been doing over the years?â The woman looked at Abigail w
ith a concerned expression.
Hearing that, Anthony placed a hand on Abigailâs shoulder and sat her down beside their lecturer.
