Chapter 314
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 314 Cameron Listens to You
Luna had been furious, but after hearing that, she deflated like a balloon.
âWhy do you think that Lacey woman was so hostile toward you?â Luna held Abigailâs hand and asked
with a frown.
Abigailâs brows creased as she thought about it. Moments later, she commented, âIt probably has
something to do with Anthony. He was all dressed up. Doesnât that signify theyâre on a date?â
Luna rolled her eyes. âIâm speechless.â
She finally understood the situation. If Anthony had been on a date with Lacey, the latter would have
been hostile toward Abigail because of how well Anthony treated her.
While they were studying, Anthony took very good care of Abigail. All their cla*smates said he liked her.
Lacey wouldnât have had to dig very deep to find out about that.
Meanwhile, Abigail paid no mind to this.
The next day, soon after Abigail came into the office, her a*sistant came to say there was a visitor.
As soon as Abigailâs a*sistant finished speaking, the door to the office flew open.
âMiss, you canât enter-
âItâs fine, Abigail cut her a*sistant off
Abigailâs a*sistant glanced at Lacey. She quelled her dissatisfaction and exited the office in silence.
âAre you here for a visit, or do you wish to place an order, Miss Fernandez?â Abigail stood up with a
polite smile on her face.
Lacey sat on the couch and studied the office before looking at Abigail. âYou should know that I donât
like you.â
âYeah. I picked up on that last night,â Abigail calmly responded. She was startled by Laceyâs
bluntness.
âI figured you werenât stupid. Do you know why I hate you?â Lacey crossed her legs and tilted her head
upward as if she owned the place.
Iâm guessing itâs because of Anthony,â Abigail deduced.
Lacey cocked her eyebrows and declared domineeringly, âI know you two have had a good relationship
ever since your schooling days. Even though youâre both working now, heâs still very protective of you
and keeps helping you. I donât like that. But, when it comes to work, you canât be
of any help to him. He needs my family more, so thatâs why he chose me. Iâm sure you know when to
give up. Since youâre busy creating rumors about you and Sean, just focus on that. Stop contacting
Anthony.â
Abigail realized Lacey had come to mark her territory.
âAnthony and I have always been nothing more than business partners. Donât overthink it, Miss
Fernandez. If something could have happened between us, it would have happened by now, donât you
think?â Abigail responded with a nonchalant smile.
âYouâre not in a relationship with him because you like being surrounded by men. Be it my cousin, or
him, or even others like Sean Graham and Eric Davidson, arenât they all your knights in shining armor?
Truth be told, I despise women like you. Iâve seen more than my fair share of two- faced b*tches like
you in college.â Lacey had a look of scorn and derision on her face.
Abigail was about to speak when the door to the office opened again.
Sean stood in the doorway. An icy aura emanated from him.
Abigailâs a*sistant stood by the door. She was a little worried that Abigail would chide her for not
stopping Sean.
When Lacey looked at Sean, she sensed the terrifying look in his eyes and swiftly got to her feet. She
was a lot less domineering now. âI said what I came to say. Iâm leaving now.â
âWho said you could leave?â Sean asked as he fixed his ice-cold gaze on Lacey.
âLet her leave,â Abigail said.
Sean pursed his l*ps and eyed Lacey.
Laceyâs knees turned to jelly. She held the couch for support as she stepped back.
âIf you leave without apologizing, Iâm not sure whether your tongue will remain in your possession for
much longer,â Sean remarked before entering the office.
Cameron, who was behind Sean, started walking toward Lacey with a threatening air.
Abigail frowned. âCameron!â
Cameron reined in his intimidating air. He looked at Abigail and said, âSince youâre so kind, Ms. Quinn,
I wonât be too hard on her.â
âLeave Abigail said to Lacey.
Lacey had waltzed into the office with her nose in the air, but she was leaving with her tail between her
legs now.
â
Cameron wisely left the office and closed the door behind him. Abigail looked at Sean. âWhy did you
come here?â
âI was in the area, so I came to see you,â Sean said. He stared at her and asked, âAre you really not
going to clarify what happened on Twitter? Youâre not going to say you misclicked?â
âWhy did you like the tweet anyway?â
Abigail was pissed about that. She did it by accident. Did he?
âI can do whatever I want with my Twitter account,â Sean said breezily as he sat down.
He was like an old geezer who barely knew what social media was back then, but now, heâs even
picking on internet slang.
âWhoâs the guy whoâs the reason why that womanâs picking on you?â Sean asked.
âSheâs unimportant. If you have nothing else, you should get back to work. Iâm busy.â Abigail didnât want
to talk to Sean.
She wasnât going to take Laceyâs words to heart anyway.
âHow do I know whether or not I should let her off the hook if you donât clarify the situation?â Sean
leaned into the couch and said while toying with his tablet.
Abigail instinctively glanced at him. âHas Cameron gone off to deal with her?â
âCameron still listens to you. At least, before I give him the order, he wonât go against your wishes.â
Sean was smiling faintly.
Abigail didnât know what to say.
When did Cameron switch his loyalties from Sean to her?
âDonât keep getting Cameron to do these things. Heâs your a*sistant. Heâs not a b*dyguard hired to get
physical with people. Why do you keep making him do your dirty work?â Abigail questioned with a look
of displeasure.
