Chapter 438
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 438 Taking Cameron In
âWhy donât you try to comfort Howard if heâs bothered by it?â Abigail suggested as she walked over to
Luna to console her. âYou could take a day off today, go on a date with him, and make it clear that itâs
not your fault.â
Luna responded with a hint of dissatisfaction, âHe also knows that I havenât known Josh for long. So,
can he blame me when Josh suddenly goes crazy?â
Abigail quickly rea*sured her. âHe canât blame you.â
âHeâs angry with me⦠Iâm really innocent in this,â Luna said and calmed down as she spoke.
Abigail patted her on the shoulder and said, âDonât be angry. It will work out in the end, and if it doesnât,
just let it go.â
Luna nodded immediately and said, âYouâre right.â Afterward, she called out to her a*sistant outside.
âLet Cameron in.â She suspected that Sean was jealous again because Eric sent Abigail back last
night.
Cameron was invited in, and he first glanced at Luna before pitifully looking at Abigail. âMs. Quinn. Iâm
begging you to hire me; Mr. Graham fired me.â
Luna burst into laughter. âYou must be kidding.â
âItâs true. Mr. Graham said I talk too much and Iâm not as obedient as before, so he fired me,â Cameron
said while looking quite aggrieved.
Abigail stared at him and pondered the authenticity of his words.
âGetting fired means you can find another employer. Why come to us? With your background of
working alongside Sean for so many years, there should be many people eager to hire you,â Luna said
with a smile.
Cameron looked at Abigail, and his eyes were filled with sincerity. âSo, I came here to apply for a job
with Ms. Quinn. Iâm used to being around familiar people. Ms. Quinn, I promise to be as obedient as a
dog if you choose to hire me.â
Abigailâs expression was somewhat difficult to read. âYouâre a person; you donât need to be as obedient
as a dog, and I donât need a b*dyguard.â He was indeed good, but she thought he was too heavy-
handed when it came to violence. He might have gotten away with it while working alongside Sean,
given Seanâs status and influence, but working for her was different.
âYou donât need a b*dyguard, but you do need a driver. I can work as a driver if you want. Please.â He
folded his hands together and even gave her a small bow.
âIs your task to work exclusively for Abigail?â Luna reclined on the couch, and her expression was
playful.
Cameron quickly tried to please her and said, âHow could it be? Iâve been working by Ms. Quinnâs side
for some time now. I know sheâs a great person, so I came here to apply for a job. Iâve been working
intensively by Mr. Grahamâs side. I also want to experience a more relaxed professional life.â
Although Luna had a suspicious expression, she asked Abigail, âWhat do you think? Should we hire
him?â
Abigail looked at him with a somewhat indifferent tone. If youâre telling the truth. Iâll let you work with
me, but if I find out youâre lying, you know the consequences. No matter if this was part of Seanâs plan
or not if she found out that Cameron had come here deliberately, she wouldnât forgive his deceit just
because they were familiar with each other
<
âIâm not lying; it was Mr. Graham who said that Iâve changed, and you know how strict he is with the
people around him.â Cameron quickly expressed his sincerity.
It didnât matter either way; if things went south, Sean would have his back. He was just an ordinary
hourly
worker.
Abigail nodded and said, âAll right. You can work as my a*sistant and part-time driver. I donât know how
much Sean is paying you, but I canât afford a high salary. Youâll have to work from 8.00AM to 5.00PM,
and meals are included but not accommodation. I can offer you 3,000 a month.â That was the most she
could offer.
Luna was surprised at how easily Abigail seemed to trust Cameronâs words.
âThank you, Miss Quinn!â Cameron immediately beamed and gave a respectful bow.
âJust find an empty seat outside and wait. Iâll call you if I need anything.â As Abigail spoke, she
intended to return to her workspace.
Once Cameron left, Luna followed Abigail into her office. âArenât you afraid that Sean is plotting
something again?â she asked Abigail.
Abigail sighed. âCameron worked with me for some time, and during that time, he really changed. You
know what kind of temperament Sean has.â
Luna clicked her tongue. âIâm still leaning toward the idea that heâs up to something.â
âEither way, I do need someone to be my a*sistant. My current a*sistant is limited in strength, and
sometimes I need help with heavy lifting,â Abigail said.
âIâve arranged for those three interns to work in Pendorf, but they said they still want to learn from
you,â Luna sat on the single couch in Abigailâs workspace, and her tone was tinged with some
helplessness.
âYou tell them that to become a designer, they must first learn how to make clothes; all kinds of them,
menâs, womenâs, childrenâs, and more. They not only need to know how to make them but also learn
how to read size charts. They should know how to address any unreasonable size chart issues and
handle clients. with unreasonable design requests,â Abigail said while standing by a sewing machine
and giving
instructions to Luna.
Luna asked, âWhat else, Miss Quinn?â
Abigail raised an eyebrow and glanced at her before saying, âYouâve become quite chatty as well. Also,
I need them to learn traditional craftsmanship as much as possible, especially embroidery. They should
learn from the master embroiderers.â
