Chapter 441
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 441 Pressure From the Pearson Family
At that, Analise realized she might have been demanding too much. She let go of Cameronâs hand and
looked dejected. âPlease do your best, then. I donât want Abigail to suffer.â
He looked at her, and after a while, he asked, âYou seem to harbor some resentment toward Madam
Harper. Is it related to Ms. Quinnâs disappearance?â
She looked around to ensure no one was listening, then spoke in a low voice, âIt might not be related to
her, but itâs definitely related to her twin sister. I feel itâs the responsibility of the entire Pearson Family
for what happened to Abigail, and they canât escape that.â
âYouâre right.â He immediately agreed. âBut do you know exactly how Ms. Quinn went missing?â
She fell silent at his question.
Cameron did not press for details but opted instead to console Analise. âItâs okay if you donât want to
talk about it. Let me take you for a walk.â
âAbigail didnât go missing. She was thrown into the sea and suffered a head injury. Now, she canât
remember her biological parents.â Analise walked slowly and began recounting the past to him.
He looked at her with surprise. âSo, it was done by Mr. Pearsonâs second wife?â
âYes. I thought she was her birth mother because they looked so much alike, but Mr. Pearsonâs first
wife also has a twin sister. It doesnât matter now; Abigail has me doting on her, and her grandfather
loves her very much.â She sighed.
Her words made Cameron feel a deep sense of appreciation. Many parents could not treat their
biological children as kindly as Analise and Theodore treated Abigail, let alone an adopted girl.
âMs. Quinn is truly fortunate to have met all of you,â he whispered with a smile.
âWe two old folks donât have any children. Her arrival is our blessing.â Analiseâs voice carried an
unprecedented softness. âI only hope I can live a little longer to spend more time with her.â
He patted her shoulder. âYou will.â
The streets of Capitalis were bustling as it was not long after the New Year.
Cameron and Analise returned at nearly 10.00PM. Upon seeing that Abigail was still working in the
workspace, he could not help but murmur, âSheâs working so hard.â
In the foliowing days, he had a close-up view of her work routine.
She would never leave the office before 11.00PM. Even on Groundhog Day, she remained hunkered
down in her workspace, busy with her work.
âSheâs working very hard. From the time she returned until now, sheâs been busy working late into the
night in just half a month,â Cameron said as he prepared a gla*s of milk for Abigail, all while discreetly
making a phone call to Sean.
At that stage, Sean could only get some information about her from Cameron. âYou donât know how to
persuade her? Youâre with her, but you canât do anything? His voice conveyed his unhappiness,
âI canât persuade her he doesnât listen to me at all I have to go deliver the mill now, Cameron said as he
was about to hang up the phone.
His words made Sean incredibly jealous. âGo ahead and deliver the milk. Why do you need to tell
me?!â With that, he hung up the phone.
Cameron knew he was jealous. He put the gla*s of milk by Abigailâs side and reminded her, âDrink this
before continuing.â
She looked at the ivory gla*s and thanked him. âThank you.â
He smiled carefreely. âYouâre my boss; I should do this. By the way, why are you in such a rush? Why
canât you do it slowly?â
âFairy Meadow is having a new product launch in early March, and itâs crucial for the brand,â she said.
before sipping the milk.
He nodded. âI see why youâre in a hurry. Keep working, then. I wonât disturb you.â
Fairy Meadowâs new product launch this year would determine whether the brand could make a
comeback.
Early the next morning, Cameron was intercepted by Sean when he came out of the hotel. He handed
Cameron a box. âThis is a ma*sager I bought. Itâs perfect for someone like her who sits for long hours.
âAll right. Iâll say I bought it.â Cameron deliberately teased him.
Sean stared at him coldly. âSay whatever you want.â
Cameron chuckled. How is he not angry about this?
Sean left after delivering the item.
He watched Seanâs back for a while and could not help but murmur, âBoth of them have changed quite
a bit. It made sense when he thought about it. After their divorce and the many events that followed,
Sean slowly learned how to truly love someone with all his heart.
Cameron, holding the ma*sager, prepared to enter the office when he overheard Abigail and Luna
talking inside. âScarlett came to see me last night. I knew something would happen. Do you think Fairy
Meadowâs tax is reliable?â Abigail whispered to Luna.
âHoward said itâs uncertain, but the people at Fairy Meadow received info saying that as long as they
end their partnership with us, the tax issue will be resolved Luna replied with a touch of coldness in her
voice.
âThey love these methods, donât they? Now, weâve involved Fairy Meadow. I hope it didnât anger
Howardâ Abigail was still considerate of the relationship between Luna and him. Although they had not
known each other for long, it was clear that they had developed feelings for each other.
She did not want her actions to harm her friendâs relationship.
