Chapter 561
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 561 A Marriage Proposal
The next morning, Abigail was abruptly awakened by her ringing phone. She frowned and impatiently
answered, âHello?â
âMiss Quinn, itâs me! Ronaldo!â the cheerful voice on the other end exclaimed.
Abigail took a deep breath and sighed in frustration. âItâs so early⦠Canât you let me sleep at little
longer?â
âThe sun is already high in the sky! Let me tell you, Ericâs grandmother called him back and said they
were coming to Eastbay to get him. I told his grandmother that I was taking Eric out to sea and that we
wouldnât be back for six months. She was furious. Do you think I did the right thing?â Ronaldo asked.
âHow is Eric feeling?â Abigail gradually felt herself becoming more awake.
âHeâs fine, I guess,â Ronaldo replied uncertainly. âHeâs really pitiful. Not only did he fail to win your
heart, but he also ended up sleeping with a woman. Heâs a big star. Youâd think he would have better
self-awareness. Yet, he ended up in bed with some random woman!â
âCould you please lower your voice?â Abigail sat up and brushed her hair away from her face.
âOh, itâs fine. Heâs busy collecting seashells far away from me. I brought him to the sea early in the
morning. Honestly, he seems to be enjoying himself,â Ronaldo replied carefreely.
âIf only he could be as carefree as you, he wouldnât have so many troubles,â Abigail murmured.
Eric had always supported her unconditionally through all her ups and downs. Even though. his
emotions eventually got the best of him, causing her some trouble, she still couldnât deny that he had
always been there for her. Regardless, this was just a minor test of their friendship, and she genuinely
hoped he could find happiness in his life.
Ronaldo took in the sea breeze and shared, âMiss Quinn, do you know why Iâm always so happy? Itâs
because I live by the seaside. The sea is boundless, just like my heart. If Iâm ever unhappy, Iâll just sit
by the sea and listen to the ocean breeze, watch the waves, or step on the sand. Then, all my troubles
would disappear.â
âI truly envy your outlook on life,â Abigail said with a smile.
She wasnât lying; she genuinely envied Ronaldo.
âPeople should learn to be more open-minded. Every problem can be resolved, and cherishing the
present is vital because we donât have much time to live. You should follow your heart and live life to
the fullest. Be kind to yourself,â Ronaldo warmly advised.
Abigail fell into silence.
âIâll hang up now,â Ronaldo said, knowing that she needed some time to process his words.
âThank you,â Abigail replied with a smile.
After the call ended, Abigail gazed at the sunlight outside and lost herself in thought. Event though
Ronaldo had comforted her, she still couldnât shake off these emotional obstacles that had been
troubling her. She was supposed to accept her birth parents because it wasnât their fault that she had
gotten lost. Still, she couldnât muster any genuine feelings for them. She couldnât just break down in
tears and accept them with open arms like in those dramas she had seen.
After Abigail got out of bed, Analise made her breakfast.
âHow did you sleep last night?â Analise asked with concern.
âIt was okay,â Abigail replied.
Analise was worried that the Pearson Family would affect her.
âGrandma, I donât think I can accept them. It might be because Iâve never had any contact. with them,
nor have I ever expected them to barge into my life. When I face them, I feel like Iâm facing strangers. I
still have an urge to flee whenever weâre in the same room.â Abigail shared her feelings with Analise
while eating breakfast.
Analise understood her. After all, Abigail had never longed for her parents because she had. always
been loved and cared for by her grandparents. She had always considered her life happy enough. So,
suddenly having parents made her feel like something extra was forcefully added to her life.
âItâs okay. Take your time. You donât have to accept them right away. Besides, itâs also nice to know that
theyâre around,â Analise comforted her.
âI just canât help but feel like theyâre unnecessary.â Abigail said softly. Perhaps she had been
momentarily moved by Scarlettâs tears. Regardless, after that brief moment of empathy, she only felt
awkward and distant.
âItâs okay, Abigail. You will always have me.â Analise gently ruffled her head.
âOkay.â Abigail nodded.
After breakfast, Cameron and Sean arrived at L.Moon. Abigail promptly handed Cameron the clothes
she had prepared and asked, âDid you ask the girl out?â
âYes, but I didnât tell her about delivering clothes. Is that okay?â Cameron seemed nervous.
III
Analise was quite surprised by their exchange. âWhat girl?â
âI want to set him up with someone special. Letâs see how heâll perform.â Abigail grinned. brightly.
âReally?â Analiseâs eyes widened. Then, she quickly grabbed Cameron and asked, âWhat does she
look like? Is she your type?â
Sean walked up to Abigail quietly and whispered, âDid you sleep well last night? You seem at bit off.â
âI was woken up early by a phone call,â Abigail replied softly.
Cameron answered Analise honestly, âSheâs a very pretty girl. She looks gentle and delicate, which is
my type. But⦠Weâre still getting to know each other at this point. After all, Iâm not all that outstanding,
and I donât know if Iâm the right one for her.â Cameron didnât feel confident in front of Isla, whom he
viewed as delicate.
Analise smiled and said, âOh, donât overthink things. With me and Abigail by your side, you donât have
to worry about this.â
âDonât let him be late for his date, Grandma,â Sean reminded her.
Analise nodded seriously and said, âAlright. By the way, donât forget to buy her some flowers. When
youâre on the date, ask if she likes bubble tea or prefers other drinks. Nowadays, girls. tend to like
bubble tea, but itâs better to double-check just in case. If she says sheâs worried about gaining weight,
tell her itâs okay and that you like her not because of how she looks. Still, itâs best that you donât
mention anything about her weight; sensitive girls donât like that.â
