Chapter 563
I Want a Divorce
Chapter 563 Pleasing Her
Abigail and Sean changed into fresh clothes before entering the ICU at the hospital. Old Mr. Pearson
looked frail and sickly. After observing Abigail for a while, he closed his eyes.
âHeâs glad to see you,â Josh whispered to Abigail.
Abigail hummed in response. They left the ICU after spending a little more time there.
âDo you want to visit Mom?â Josh couldnât help asking again.
Abigailâs expression remained aloof. âSure.â
Josh felt devastated when he heard her tone. He knew she still saw them as strangers. In Scarlettâs
room, Lawrence immediately brought a bag of snacks for her and sat down beside her. He then
updated Abigail on Scarlettâs condition.-
âSheâs doing better now. She just needs to stay in the hospital for about two weeks,â Lawrence
informed Abigail.
Abigail looked at Scarlett, who was eagerly watching her.
âHave you had breakfast?â she asked.
âAbigail, Iâve eaten. However, I canât seem to eat much, and I donât know why,â Scarlett said. pitifully,
trying to make Abigail feel sorry for her.
âIn that case, itâs better to consult with a doctor,â Abigail replied coldly.
Scarlettâs eyes dimmed.
âYour b*dy is your own. Only when youâve figured things out for yourself will everything get better.â
Abigail remained calm and distant, treating herself as an outsider.
Scarlett felt relieved upon hearing Abigailâs words. At least Abigail had shown a bit of concern. for her
health.
At that moment, Lawrence chimed in, âAbigail is right. We have to figure things out ourselves. Iâll have
someone send over some breakfast. You can have some soup.â
Scarlett nodded and stared at Abigail attentively. Her eyes were filled with hope.
Abigail declined bluntly, saying, âI just had breakfast and a drink. Itâs fine.â
Lawrence appeared disappointed but still nodded with a smile. âDo you want to eat something else?â

âI donât want to eat anything I still have some business to attend to, so Iâll be leaving Abigail said calmly.
She felt there was no need to stay any longer since the hadnât come here
willingly
Scarlett felt disappointed but nodded when she caught sight of Lawrenceâs gaze. âAlrightâ
When they left the hospital room. Lawrence called Sean, who had been silent throughout the endre
interaction. He then explained to Abigail, Td like to ask him some questions about Vincent

After Abigail left, Sean and Lawrence found a secluded place. âHow much evidence do you have
against Vincent Lawrence had been investigating the matter but had yet to find any useful information.
âI donât have much. They have been conspiring for over 20 years for their own interests. Hoping to
catch them red-handed within a day or two is just wishful thinking.â Sean replied calmly. The only lead
at the moment was Lilyâs financial records. Her spending had exceeded the allowance provided by the
Pearson Family. Unfortunately, this wasnât enough to prove that there was something wrong with
Vincent and his family.
Lawrence frowned. Resentment filled his face as he growled, âIsnât there any other

Lawrence looked at him. âAre you sure he has money
âIm sure Iâve checked the financial records of everyone in the Pearson Family. Lily has received funds
through foreign accounts. Unfortunately, its almost impossible to trace il back to Vincent, Sean said in a
low voice. Foreign accounts were difficult to trace, expecially when the account was closed after the
money was transferred.
Lawrence furrowed his brow at his words. Even you canât trace it. He had httle confidence in his own
abilites. Nevertheless, he realized that this wasnât about confidence, he had to unicover what Vincent

âIn this world, there are no secrets that canât be uncovered. As long as youâre determined to
investigate, youâll find the truth,â Sean rea*sured him before glancing at his watch. âI have to
go now.â
Lawrence nodded and watched as Sean left. What he wanted most was to bring Abigail back into the
Pearson Family rather than having her treat the company as her home.
âDadâ¦â Joshâs voice interrupted Lawrenceâs thoughts.
Josh said seriously, âIâll take care of Uncle Vincentâs case. You should spend more time with Mom and
Abigail. She canât treat the company as her home forever. She needs to come. home eventually.â
âOkay.â Lawrence thought what Josh said made sense. âYou can ask Uncle Terry for a*sistance.
However, make sure to keep it quiet. Donât let the elders find out.â
Josh hummed and said nothing more.
âYour grandmother has always favored him. Even if he causes a huge scandal, sheâll still stand up for
him. So, when you investigate your uncleâs affairs, make sure she doesnât find out. about it.â Lawrence
had lost all respect for Patricia.
