4- Babysitting
Triplets (girlxgirl)
Today was the day we would meet with the triplets. It had been a week since we met and now Ren, Zoe and I were on our way to their house and show them around. Ren and Zoe were my two best friends and were in the same level as me which means we pretty much did everything together. Ren was a six foot one muscular werewolf and Zoe was a tiny barely five foot book worm fairy.
I took a deep breath when we drove up to the two story house. It was a normal white house with a porch and a swing. It was in the country, surrounded by forests and a field in their back yard that ran for miles. We got out of the van and walked to the door.
âMan, this is going to be so much fun, hanging out with three gorgeous chicks all dayâ Ren said with a smirk. Letâs not have the wrong impression here; this werewolf was all bark and no bite. He is the perfect gentleman, waiting for his mate to arrive in his life. It was needless to say that every girl in school was running after him hoping to be the one.
We laughed at his remark as I knocked on the door.
âIâll get it!â someone inside the house shouted. The door opened and revealed the black haired sister.
âHi, welcome to our- wow-âshe said as she stared at Ren. And that was the beginning of a staring contest.
âWhoâs at the door Jess?â a similar voice spoke.
âUhhhhâ was all that she could reply never taking her eyes off Ren. Red arrived behind her with a welcoming smile.
âHey, whatâs going on?â Zoe and I pointed back and forth to Ren and her sister. âOh, well Jess I guess you found your mateâ
âJess?â No reply. âJessâ Red said snapping her fingers in front of her sistersâ face and there was still no reply. âJESSâ
Jess head snapped to the side. âWhat?â We all burst laughing at their shocked faces.
âWhy donât you all come in? Jamie is finishing getting ready and then you can show us around townâ Red said as we went into the house.
âThis town is too small, there is nothing much to see here. We are going into the cityâ I told them. âAnd if you know where to look, there are some awesome places where the magical beings hang around: bars, shops and all.
âWeâre going to Annwn a magical city hidden from humansâ Zoe said.
We were waiting in their lovely living room when I heard a sarcastic voice behind me. âGreat, the babysitters are hereâ Jimmy said. Today she had a green unzipped hoodie with a yellow shirt, black cotton pants, blue socks and a red scarf around her neck. Man this girl had absolutely no sense of fashion. She then looked at Ren and then at his entwined hand with Jessicaâsâ.
âUgh, youâre one of thoseâ she made a face as she came into the room and went beside Red.
âYou have a problem with that sis?â Jess asked with hatred.
âNope, but I would love to see his face when you tell him what youâve done. You think heâll stick around?â Jimmy mocked.
âYou bitchâ Jess lunged at her sister but was stop by Red who put herself between them.
âStop it, Stop it! You promisedâ She looked at both of them âYou both promised me that you will stop this quarrel when we arrived here. New town, new beginning. Thatâs what we agreed on.â
âFineâ Jess angrily said pointing her finger at Jim, âyou shut her up or Iâll rip her tongue outâ and shoved her way out of the house dragging Ren with her.
âAs if you couldâ Jimmy muttered to herself. I donât think I was supposed to hear her say that so I pretended not to.
Red stared at Jimmy for a while longer. It seemed they were having yet another mental conversation. After what seemed like an understanding between them, Red looked at Zoe and me and smiled.
âShall we get going?â she asked as she led us to the door.
After this dramatic event, we all packed ourselves into the van. I was driving with Jasmine in the passenger seat, Jess, Ren and Zoe shared the middle and Jimmy was in the far back seat looking out the window. The city was half an hour away so we talked and laughed all the way there. We compared cities, talked about school and magic. It was quite nice; Jess was charismatic and hyper active. She had that bitchy popular attitude, but it was at a minimal. Red was more quiet but still funny. She and Zoe hit it off pretty fast; talking about god knows what since both of them had a passion for knowledge.
When we arrived into the city, I found a parking spot and got out. Once everyone was ready, we set out onto the street full of citizens going with their business. We found the entry to the magical city hidden from normal human eyes. It was in an alley behind a bar.
âReady?â I asked the sisters. Jess and Red nodded eager to finally see the city of magic we told them about on the way here. I put one hand on the stoned wall and chanted a few words. I looked back and smiled at them
âAlright, this is itâ I said. I pointed to the wall. âAll you have to do is walk inâ
âWhere?â Jess asked
âThrough the wallâ I replied.
âThrough the wall? Are you kidding me?â she said.
âItâs alright babe, Iâll walk with youâ Ren told her. He took her hand âOn Threeâ And they walk through the gate. Zoe followed shortly after. I looked at the remaining sisters and found that Jimmy did not look very comfortable with the situation. Good, I felt like teasing her a bit.
âWhatâs wrong Jim? Too afraid to walk through a wall?â I smirked at her. She looked at me with her dead eyes but her face told me otherwise: She did not look impressed by my question. I stepped towards her still with the smirk on my face. When I came close enough l leaned down since I towered over her with my five foot nine figure.
âAfraid of the unknown, little hybrid?â I whispered into her ear. She backed up a little and stared me up and down. I knew what she saw, I am beautiful beyond normal. I was a tall woman with perfect pale skin that shined in the sun. My white braided hair fell to my mid back and my eyes were a deep forest green. I had a small button nose with high cheekbones and a gentle pointy chin. I was muscular because of my years of training and my legs, as people would say, ran down forever. My chest was not huge but it was big enough and my body was perfectly curved.
When Jimmy looked back into my eyes, I was not as unsettled as before, for I was getting used to her intense stare. âYou wish to play this game little albino?â She whispered back to me. My smirk turned into a full grin as I tilted my head to the side.
âI will play whatever game you want me to sweet heartâ I told her in a seductive voice. She raised an eyebrow for that last comment, and then bit her lip. My eyes lingered to her motion; I didnât think she knew what she was doing.
âWell, shall we go girls?â Red said, breaking our little moment. She had a knowing smile on her face as she looped arms with her sister. Together they walked through the wall and I followed after them.
The magical city was called Annwn. It means âotherworldâ in Welsh mythology. As every Saturday, the city was full of different species roaming around the roads. There were cars, flying carpets and many different steeds. The architecture was more old fashion and most of the buildings were made out of brick and wood. There were shops everywhere. Magic shops, restaurant, bars, clothing shops but every one of them was specifically made for magical creatures. We spent all day going into the shops, buying things and visiting monuments.
It was now the afternoon and we stopped at a small café for a break. Jess, Ren and Zoe were off buying some more clothes. I donât know how they still had energy from walking all day, but I was toasted. Now it was only me, Red and Jim, sitting at a table watching pedestrians walk along the street.
âSo, Jimmy, are you enjoying your day?â I asked but I got no answer as she ignored me. I was so sick and tired of her attitude all day that I had no more patience towards her.
âOk, what is your problem?â I snapped shutting her phone with my hands. She looked at me, clearly not impressed by my outburst but I was too angry to back down.
âIâm ignoring youâ she said as if it was obvious.
âWhy?â
âBecause I donât appreciate having a babysitterâ
âSo basically your sulking?â I asked. Jimmy seemed to think for a moment then answered in a bored tone âYepâ and picked her phone back up started to play on it again. It was true; the principal has sent me here to keep an eye on them.
âWell you obviously need one.â I grumpily said âWhat with the performance you had last weekâ
âI didnât do anything last weekâ
âYou killed a man without bashing an eyelashâ
âSo?â she asked me. âHe didnât die did he?â I let out an exasperated sigh.
âYou are emotionally deranged you know that right?â I told her. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
âWhat do you know about emotions?â she asked. âHow many girls did you sleep with again?â Now how did she know about my sex life? But she was right, was I better than her?
âWell, Iâve hit a nerveâ she smiled at me. âSo?â
âI lost countâ I replied. She burst laughing and went back to her phone as if sheâd won the argument.
âYou are so full of yourself arenât you?â I asked angrily
âNo, I just donât careâ
âYouâre full of bullshitâ
âI never ate nor rolled myself in shit. And I never seen a bull up closeâ Shocked, I looked at Redâs sympathetic face.
âIs she for real?â I asked her
âUnfortunatelyâ she said sadly. I took a deep the breath, deciding to change the subject before things got really bad. I looked back at Jim
âHow much of your supernatural being has awoken in you?â
âWhat are you?â she looked at me in curiosity.
âIâm an Angelâ
âReally?â Red said.
âHow fascinating.â Jimmy said sarcastically. âSo you are a guardian angel? Or maybe a dark angel?â
I shook my head; âNo, Iâm not. Â Iâm a being born of pure magic. Iâm neither good nor bad and all the stories about my kind are just crapâ.
âBummerâ Jimmy said. âI liked the baby oneâ.
âBreathe Siana, breathe. She is pushing you on purpose.â I thought.
âJamie, why donât you go get us some coffee, you know what I likeâ Red said to her sister sensing I was losing my control over my patience. Â I took out some money and gave it to Jimmy. I was not going to let her disturb me. âWhy donât you get me a large latte too?â
âAre you trying to get rid of me, albino?â Jimmy asked as she rose from her chair. Â If I was not so mad right now I wouldnât have replied the way I did. âI would pay much more to get rid of youâ I said.
Jimmy smiled and raised her hand, palm up. She bent down where our noses were almost touching.
âPay me double to get rid of me and Iâll even get you a cookieâ
When I looked into in her eyes I got lost. How was it possible to have eyes that showed no emotions? What happened with Jess that made them hate each other? I was so curious as to why she was different from her siblings that I totally forgot to stay mad at her. I took out another five bucks and gave it to her.
âTake as long as you canâ I told her with a wink.
After I watched her leave I turned my attention to Red. I was not expecting her face beaming with joy as she looked at me. She squealed and shot up from her seat and hugged the life out of me.
âThankyouthankyouthankyouâ she laughed as she kissed my cheeks over and over.
âRed, I canât breathe, canât breatheâ I choked out. Man, was I confused, and scared. She stopped hugging me, cupped my face and stared in my eyes.
âThis is the first time in six years that Jimhaya willingly talked to someone other than me and Jess.â Red told me with tears in her eyes.
âI thought Jimmy hated Jessâ I said
âHate is a strong word. But Jamie insults Jess; itâs kind of her guilty pleasure.â
âWhat about your parents?â
âOnly if sheâs obligatedâ She replied. âOh, this is going to be a great year. I hope you stick aroundâ
âShe hates meâ I told her. Had she just missed our fight two seconds ago?
âNo, she likes you. People she doesnât like, she doesnât talk to. Unless she wants to hurt someoneâ Red laughed. Well, if she did, she had a bad way of showing it. I looked behind her and saw the time.
âOh shit, weâre going to be late for the gameâ I told Red removing her hands from my face. I grabbed the bags of new clothes and objects we bought during the day and started to walk away when I remembered âWhat about your sister?â
âSheâll be okâ Red smiled. âSheâll catch up. Donât worry, she wonât be lost. She always knows where I amâ I frowned at her remark, but the way Red looked at me told me that she was not going to clarify her statement.
âIf youâre sureâ I shrugged and we started to talk about happier things.
