25 - Thought it'd be a nice surprise

When green met blue || Clexa AU COMPLETED

"Girls, need your help out here!" Abby shouted from the kitchen. Lexa and Clarke looked at each other, and fastly ran there. "Lexa, could you take the chicken out of the oven. Clarke, I need you to put the pasta under the cold water."

Lexa with one firm move opened the oven and white smoke flew off. Lexa bent down shocked, coughing as the smoke got into her lumps. "Gosh!" she mumbled. She put gloves on and took the chicken out, closing the oven with her ass. The chicken went right on the table.

"Clarke, thanks. You can go now, I don't want you to mess up anything," Abby said, starting cutting the vegetables very fastly.

Clarke spat in disbelief, but nodded as she knew how bad  she was in the kitchen. "What's the rush for?"

"I invited someone," she answered, smirking.

"Who?" Lexa and Clarke looked shocked at Abby.

"His name is Marcus. We've been seeing each other for a month now."

Clarke's jaw dropped. "And you thought the best way for us to meet each other was at Christmas?"

"Well, yes. And I hope you'll behave, because I actually like him," she answered. And then she looked at Lexa from under her knife. "I'm obviously not talking to you. I'm sure you'll behave, you know, Clarke's the one I'm worried about." Lexa nodded understandingly.

"Umm, hello? I'm still here," Clarke waved at them. She was sitting at the counter, that was right behind Abby and Lexa. They both just laughed from her.

"Alright, now, let's mix up salad with pasta," Abby told Lexa. The brunette nodded and did as told. They all heard then door ring calling. "Clarke, could you open? Please, be nice."

Clarke sighed, but nodded, and then walked to the door. As she opened them, she did not see a man, as she thought she would, but a woman.

"Umm, good afternoon?" she said out of a slight shock.

"Good afternoon," the woman answered with some kind of grace in her voice. She looked Clarke up and down, for a second staying at the stain on her shirt. Clarke noticed the stare, blushed, and tried to cover the stain with her hand.

"Can I help you, miss?" Clarke asked. She eyed the woman more closely. She weared some fancy dress, overally looked very fancy.

"Your name is Clarke Griffin?" she asked, Clarke just nodded. "I bet you can. I'm Lexa's..."

"Mum..." Clarke heard from behind her. She looked at Lexa, that was staring in shock at the woman. Clarke's nice smile slipped off in a second she realized. She turned to the woman again.

"You... oh..." she stared from her to Lexa and from Lexa to her.

Lexa seemed to only slightly notice Clarke's presence as she was more focused on her mother. All of those feelings that's been hid for these few months without her came striking. Pain, hurt, heartbreak, but also slight of relief and love, that every daughter holds toward their mothers no mather how hard mother hurts daughter..

"What... are you doing here?" Lexa only managed to say.

"Thought it'd be a nice surprise! I haven't seen you in months!" She's suddenly done something, she'd never done before, perhaps because Clarke and now also Abby were watching her. She pulled Lexa into hug. Lexa was totally shocked, as the only love she's ever experienced was from Clarke and Costia. Her mother was never showing off any emotions toward Lexa.

"Well, it'd be nicer if I'd know there's gonna be one more person, but it's still nice to meet you, miss Woods," Abby said, and stepped into the already very awkward situation with her half jokingly smile. She exchanged her hand to other woman, as Lexa stepped from the hug.

"Pleasure to meet you, too, miss Griffin," Lexa's mum shook the hand, with a very proffesional smile on. "Please, come in. We're about to have a dinner. We're just waiting for another... person!" Her face lightened up as a car pulled up on their driveway.

Clarke and Lexa's eyebrows went up and they tried to peak behind Lexa's mother to see the guy. He seemed around 40 maybe 45 years old. His long, black hairs with trails of grey jumped as he walked to them in a very energatic way. He tried to carry three bouqets of flowers and one big present, but it was hard so his full focus stayed on things. He noticed everyone standing around the front door as he almost bumped onto Lexa's mother.

"Oh, so sorry," he said, smiling politely. Sonya looked him up and down, and then slightly nodded, tho her face was not so impressed.

"Marcus, hey," Abby greeted him with a nervous smile. He hugged her fastly and then handed her flowers. And then he travelled to Lexa and Clarke. "You must be Clarke," he stepped to the blonde and gave her flowers, too. "You look just like Abby," then he looked at Lexa. "And you must be Lexa, Clarke's..."

"Friend," Clarke immediately said, before he could even said this damned word. Lexa looked terrified at Clarke for a slight second. But Sonja only frowned slightly, she didn't realize what was going on.

"Friend...?" He looked at Abby, but as she nodded, knowing how important the lie was right now, he just shrugged. "Well, here," he gave flowers to Lexa too. She smiled and thanked him. Then, as a gentleman he was, he turned also to Lexa's mother. "I'm so sorry, but I wasn't informed there was to be another woman." Though, he took Sonja's hand and gently kissed her knuckles. She frowned.

"It's fine, I guess," she only said.

"Alright! Shall we?" Clarke pointed at the rest of their house, as they were standing in the hall, with doors still opened, for a last few minutes.

"Yes," Abby nodded and closed the door. Let's begin the party...

"So, Lexa, how's it going at school, huh? I haven't been hearing from your teachers for a long time now." Sonja looked at Lexa. Anyone who doesn't know her would think that this stare was nice, but well, Lexa knew it too well. It wasn't nice, it was how Lexa used to call it "a bitch stare", simply it was just very straight calling out for answers. Lexa was always floding under this stare. But not this time.

"It's good, very intresting actually," she nodded. She stopped learning too much about a month ago. She saw other teenagers learning in just good amount and still getting good grades, she decided to lose up a little bit. She still thought it was a very good decision. Teachers aren't calling, because Lexa said to them that her mom told her to tell them to simply stop. And it worked.

"Well, that's just great, isn't it?" Sonja smiled at Abby. Very confused, Abby just smiled back and nodded. Lexa's mother turned out to be very specific person, to say the least. All four of them sat there awkwardly, trying to not ruin the Christmas. The chaos was very close. Lexa from all four of them was the one who was handling the woman the best, as she had seventeen years of practise.

When they finally ate the dinner and cleaned up from the table. They decided to just watch tv. Sonja wasn't obviously the type of person that would just sit and watch tv on the couch. She looked at her watch and then at everyone that already took their seats on the cocuh - Clarke and Lexa uncomfortably too far away from each other, both of them just prayed for the woman to go away so that they could get any contact.

"It's getting late. I think I want to go sleep, if ya'll do not mind me," she announced.

"Oh, of course not," Abby nodded, smiling very relieved. "I think you'll need to sleep in Lexa's room, because we don't have more free rooms."

"Well, where Lexa will sleep then?"

"She can sleep with me, I don't mind," Clarke immediately stepped in. She shrugged, like she didn't care. It obviously was not true.

"Well, that would be highly inappropriate," she smiled, very nicely and very fakingly.

"I think we can survive a few nights, right Lexa?" Clarke looked at Lexa, pretending to be curious and very careless at the same time.

Lexa chuckled, also fakingly. "Of course not, Clarke." And then she stood up. "Come on, I'll show you the right direction."

They both walked upside, Lexa took her mom's suitcase. She showed her the room around. Sonja obviously only scanned it with her critical look on her face. Lexa decided to just ignore it. She showed her bathroom and left her there.

Then with a big satisfied smile she fastly walked downstairs, and there she threw herself on Clarke. The blonde already opened her arms for her, and Lexa snuggled herself to her.

"I missed you," she said, quietly.

Clarke chuckled and kissed the top of Lexa's head. "I missed you, too."

"I knew you said that they weren't just friends," they both heard Marcus saying on their rigth. Abby laughed. Clarke and Lexa looked at them, smiling. "Your mom doesn't know?"

"No, and it has to stay this way," Lexa answered, saddening a bit. Clarke just pulled her closer.

"If you want it to stay this way, you can't just cuddle on the couch, what if she'd come down here, huh?" Abby said to them. And she did have a point, tho none of them pulled away.

"I'm tired, are we going upstairs?" Lexa looked at Clarke.

Clarke nodded. They stood up, said their goodnights and walked away. Clarke wondered if Marcus was to come back at his or stay here for a night. She definitely wasn't ready for the second one.

They changed into pajamas, fortunately Lexa left hers in Clarke's room, so she didn't have to walk to where her mom probably already slept.

They made sure no one would walk on them sleeping together by closing the door and laid together.

"It's gonna be a hard week," Lexa siad quietly, still looking at Clarke.

"I know, but we'll go through it," Clarke answered and kissed the tip of Lexa's nose, which made Lexa smile cutely.
