chapter 25 (prt. 1)-Wedding? Today?
His Unwanted Desire
Lara's P.O V. :
"Do you, Lara Jones Adams, take your already wedded husband, as your husband once again in front of the whole mass of fellow members of your life?" The minister asked in his boring tone with a hint of sarcasm when he mentioned 'already wedded husband'
I looked into the eyes of my already wedded husband (note the sarcasm). He was looking at me in amusement. He was enjoying seeing me get nervous and uncomfortable by the whole situation.
I averted my eyes from him and turned my head towards the audience who were present in the church.
I could see that Mrs. Adams had the tears of joy in her eyes, senior Mr. Adams was having mixed expressions on his face. My two best friends and also my bridesmaids were seated in the front row along with Mr. Adams's best men; the Dorrmann brothers. They all looked excited and happy.
Cameron and Mr. Parker were holding each other's hands and were looking at us smiling.
Cara, Josh and Jonah were made to seat on the couch in front of the stage. I could see that Cara was enjoying the whole thing. She was waving at me showing her beautiful smile.
I turned my head to face Mr. Adams.
I closed my eyes tightly and exhaled the air that I was holding for a long time in order to relax myself.
I don't know what's written in my fate. Do something, Jesus!
I swallowed my saliva down my throat and opened my mouth.
"Yes...I do." Finally, I said in whispered.
"Say it louder, Ms. Jones." Mr. Adams whispered huskily into my ears.
You're making it difficult, Mr. Adams.
I glared at him and what I got in return was his devil smirk.
"Yes, I do." This time I said it loud and clear.
The minister then turned to Mr. Adams.
"Shane Adams, do you take Lara Jones Adams, to be your wife who is already your wife for the matter of fact, in front of the whole audiences?" He asked to Mr. Adams.
He looked into my eyes.
"Yes, I do." He answered almost immediately.
What? No nervousness? Nothing?
He seems totally chilled as if he's agreeing to go to the club with his friends.
For Jesus' sake, we're getting married.
I glared at him and he winked. I lowered my head to hide my blush.
Damn you blush!
"Now you may exchange the wedding rings and the groom may kiss the bride, thereafter, I'll pronounce you as husband and wife...again!" The minister said closing his book and chuckled at his own 'again'Â Â joke.
Confused? Let me rewind and tell you exactly what happened!
Flashback
I woke up as I started feeling cold. I opened my eyes steadily and found myself prisoned by Mr. Adams' hand. He had his hand around my waist.
Where are the pillows that I placed as the barriers?
I tried to remove his hand from around my waist but he was too stubborn to let go. His grip just got tighter.
I turned to face him.
He looked so handsome and sexy.
I mean...he looked good.
Oh just scratch that!
"Mr. Adams, leave me." I whispered.
"Uh..." he hummed.
"What uh? Let go of me." This time I said it a little louder.
"Stay. It's warm like this." He said huskily, his eyes closed still.
I rolled my eyes and tried to remove his hand again.
I pinched his arm which made him loosen his grip.
"Ouch! Can't you be civilized?" He asked rubbing the part where I pinched.
"Same to you!" I said, sarcastically and walked towards the large window.
I opened the curtains and the scenery in front of me was breathe taking.
The field was covered with snow. The snow-covered trees were shining because of the sun rays falling on them..
That explains why I suddenly started feeling cold.
The first snowfall of the year.
I turned to Mr. Adams who was stretching his arms and looked damn sexy while doing so.
You're a pervert, Lara.
I took my clothes from the wardrobe and walked inside the bathroom.
After finishing my bathroom business, I entered into the bedroom. Mr. Adams was doing push-ups and he was shirtless.
"Can't you wear your shirt and then do the push ups?" I asked closing my eyes with my palm.
I heard him chuckle.
"Can't you handle my naked body?" He asked, huskily.
Before I could say anything, I found him too close to me...like very very close to me.
I opened my eyes slowly.
He was looking at me in amusement.
"You look hot in wet hair." He winked.
I punched on his hard chest.
My hand was paining due to the collision with his rock chest and maintained a calm and composed expression on my face...only I knew how much I wanted to jump up and down out of this pain.
Damn his chest!
"Will I always have to suffer from your beatings, Ms. Jones?" He said, dramatically kissing my hand.
I rolled my eyes and walked from there.
I took his t shirt from the bedrest and threw at him.
He caught his t shirt and put it on.
He chuckled and walked into the bathroom.
He closed the bathroom door when I suddenly remembered something.
I ran towards the bathroom and knocked on the door.
"What? Already missed me?" Mr. Adams asked, teasingly.
I rolled my eyes.
"I just wanted to warn you not to exit the bathroom in towel." I said crossing my arms.
Don't want yesterday's incident to happen again.
"See, Ms. Jones, I am a very dignified man. I can't exit the bathroom naked." He chuckled and closed the door.
"Arghh...what'll I do of you?" I shouted, irritated.
"Adore me, Ms. Jones!" He said loudly from inside the bathroom.
"In your dreams!" I yelled back.
I was drying my hair when the bedroom's door opened.
I turned back.
"Oh...goodmorning, Mrs. Adams." I greeted.
"Call me mom, Lara dear." She walked inside the bedroom.
"Umm...yeah...mom." I said smiling.
Mom...it felt good to call her mom. It had been so long that I used this term.
My eyes filled with tears.
She took my hands into hers and caressed them.
"Lara, what happened? Why are you crying?" She asked, worried.
"Nothing...I just remembered my mother." I said, sadly.
She wiped my tears and hugged me.
"Don't ever think that you don't have a mom. You have me. I am your mom from today, Lara." She said.
I hugged her tightly.
It really felt warm hugging her. She is exactly like my mom. She used to hug me tightly whenever I used to get sad.
"Thank you...mom." I said, smiling.
She kissed on my forehead and smiled.
"Okay now no more tears. A bride doesn't shed tears on the day of her wedding." She said, smiling.
I smiled and wiped my tears completely.
Wait...what? Bride? Wedding?
I looked at her in confusion.
"Girls!" She turned towards the door.
A group of four girls in similar pink uniform entered the bedroom with bags in their hands. Cameron and Riley followed them. Riley had a large grin on her face while Cameron seemed to be confused weather to smile or grin or jump in excitement.
What's happening?
Shane's P.O.V. :
What is happening to me? Am I the same Shane Adams who was as cold as an ice, ruthless and emotionless?
She is making me feel things which I haven't felt before in my life.
Why do I behave so carefree and start teasing her like a teenage boy whenever I am with or around her?
"No, this is not good. I need to control my emotions. I can't let my myself get emotionally attached to her. I can't fall for her or for her charm. I'll have to be rigid like before or I'll end up being a love-struck romeo." I talked to my reflection in the bathroom mirror.
I did my bathroom business and took a shower. I could hear some kind of noise outside the bathroom in my bedroom.
I wrapped myself around the white towel. I went to the door and was about to open the door when I suddenly realized about Ms. Jones' warning. She sounded so cute when she was warning me not to exit the bathroom just in my towel. Suddenly a smiled formed on my face.
Stop it, Shane!
If I'll go out in my towel then...it'll be really fun to see what Ms. Jones will do...I smirked at that thought.
Am I mad if I say that I am getting addicted to her?
Finally, I opened the door maintaining the same smirk on my face. I had expected Ms. Jones to close her eyes and frown followed by the cute blush but instead I was welcomed by my mom, four blushing girls along with Cammy and Riley.
What's happening? Before I entered the bathroom it was my bedroom but now it has turned into a jewellery shop crowded with ladies. And where's my lady?
Seriously, Shane? Your Lady?
I mean my fake wife.
I walked past the four blushing girls who were literally drooling, towards my mom who was seated on the chair sipping a cup of tea.
"Mom what's all this? Why have you turned my bedroom into a jewellery shop? And where's Ms. Jon..I mean, where is Lara?" I asked roaming my eyes around the room.
"Looks like big brother is already missing his wife." Riley teased and I just rolled my eyes to that.
"Now would anyone care explaining me what's happening? And who are these girls?" I asked looking at those girls all in pink colored uniforms carrying bags in their hands.
"Shany, they are the make up artists and designers. They are here to get your bride to be ready for the wedding." Mom said standing up from the chair and pulling my cheek like she used to do when I was a kid.
"Bride? Wedding? " I asked and lifted my eye brows in confusion.
"Yup, wedding. You said that you didn't do a church wedding, right? So we have organised a church wedding today followed by a grand reception today." Mom said, grinning.
"You what?" I asked, shocked.
Cameron coughed and signaled me to calm down.
I inhaled and exhaled a long breathe to calm myself. I shut my eyes tightly and to process everything she said in my mind.
I opened my eyes and smiled curtly.
"And do you mind if I ask where my lovely wife is?" I asked faking a smile.
"Look..." she said and I turned behind to see to where she was looking.
And what I saw in front of me made my mouth open in awe. I couldn't take off my eyes from Ms. Jones who was wearing a beautiful bridal white gown. Her hair was made into a loose side braid. Few curly hair strands were let free on her beautiful face which was enhancing her beauty. The minimal makeup enhanced her beauty.
Sorry if I sound like a total Romeo but for a Juliet like her, I am ready to be the love-struck Romeo.
She walked slowly holding her long gown towards me looking everywhere but me. The gown had perfectly hugged her figure which gave me the opportunity of admiring her feminine structure. Everyone had their eyes on her and everyone looked totally mesmerized. Thank god that 'everyone' included only me and all the ladies and no men. If it had included men then I would poke every man eyes.
Ms. Jones walked and stood in front of me. I couldn't take my eyes off her.
"Close your mouth before the flies invade your mouth, big brother." Riley whispered into my ears and it was then when I realized that I had my mouth wide open.
"Uh..uh..You l..look....beautiful, Lara." I managed to speak.
Man! She's so beautiful.
Was she always this beautiful or it's just today that I have realized it?
"Thank you." She said, smiling. I could see that she was blushing like anything.
"My dear, you look stunning." Mom came from nowhere in between me and her. She took Ms. Jones into a bone crushing embrace and kissed on her forehead.
"Thank you, mom." She said, smiling.
The fact that she called my mom 'mom' , gave me an unknown satisfaction.
"I couldn't have searched a better wife for my son than you." Mom said making Ms. Jones stand beside me.
Her bare arms brushed my bare arms in the process which made me to crave for her touch.
"Smile!" Cameron came in front of us with her camera to take our photo.
I don't know what came into my mind, I encircled my hand around Ms. Jones' tiny waist and pulled her towards me.
She frowned and looked at me, warning.
"I told you not to come out of the bathroom just in your towel, but you being you, why would you even listen to me. Has Mr. Shane the great Adams listened to anyone in his life?" Ms. Jones taunted me which strangely, I found amusing and I smiled looking at her.
"What?" She asked, slightly irritated.
"Nothing. Just...admiring my hot cute little wife." I said and kissed her nose.
"Perfect!" Cam blurted looking at her mobile.
"Big bro, the photo is amazing! You both look so cute together." Riley said looking at the photo in Cam's mobile which she took while I was kissing Ms. Jones' nose.
What? How can I be like this? How can I kiss her as if she's my real wife?
Wife? Oh shit! I forgot that mom has organised our wedding today.
I'll have to stop this wedding. We are not real lovers or couple to get married.
"Mom, Riley, Cam and ladies, will you guys please give me sometime with Lara. We've something to discuss." I requested everyone to exit the room.
"But we've many preparations to do for the wedding." Mom complained.
"Mom, just 5 minutes." I said, looking at her hopefully.
"Okay. But only 5 minutes." Riley winked and everyone exited my bedroom.
As soon as everyone were out of my bedroom, I locked the door and turned towards Ms Jones who was now looking at her reflection in the mirror.
Is she getting used to this drama? Is she willing to marry me?
I can't let this happen. I'll have to get control before it's too late.
"Liking this drama a lot, aren't you?" I asked crossing my arms.
Lara's P.O.V. :
I was admiring the dress. I didn't know I could look this good. This dress is so beautiful that even an average girl like me is looking extremely beautiful and elegant in it.
What are you thinking, Lara? Focus on the main issue ? Wedding with Mr. Adams...and that too today itself. I need to talk to Mr. Adams and think something about how to get rid of this problem.
But the dress was so pretty that I couldn't avert my eyes from it. I was admiring it when Mr. Adams spoke.
"Liking this drama a lot, aren't you?" he asked crossing arms. He looked a bit frustrated.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confused.
"I mean this all husband-wife thing, the wedding and the gown?" he said, irritated.
Huh?
"So you are trying to say that I am enjoying these stuffs? " I asked him, furiously.
"Yup. You got that right, Ms. Jones." he said rolling his eyes.
Now it's too much to take. How can he think like that about me?
"I would love to remain unmarried and become a nun all my life than marrying a rich, heartless and spoiled egoistic man like you." I shouted at him and sat on the bed crossing my arms over my chest.
What does he think of himself? Here I am helping him and his mother and instead of being thankful, he's accusing me that I am dying to marry him and enjoying this stuff. Like...the hell!
"What did you say just now? Lady, watch your tongue. Don't get me ruin you and your life." He yelled back, frustrated.
I looked at him in disbelief. And I was thinking that maybe he is not as bad as I thought. But now I know he is worse. I really hate this man.
I don't want to argue to this creature anymore. I averted my eyes from him and started looking outside the window trying to control my anger when he suddenly walked and stood in front of me.
Now his perfectly structured rock like abs were clearly showcased in front of me. My heart missed a beat at that.
Stop it you silly heart!
I closed my eyes firmly and crossed my arms more tightly over my chest to calm my heart beat.
"Stop yelling at me!" I stood and walked away from him.
"You started it first." He accused.
"Oh really? " I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah. And why the hell are you making things difficult? Couldn't you have just said no for the wedding? Or are you planning to marry me in real?" he said crossing his arms narrowing his eyebrows.
"I can't believe you, Mr. Shane Adams..."
"You know what?...I am done...I am done with this drama. I am ending it." I turned back to hide my emotions. I walked towards and entered the bathroom. I closed the door forcefully producing a loud noise.
I changed the wedding gown and folded it properly not wanting to ruin such a pretty gown which might have cost a fortune.
"You are too pretty for me." I looked at the beautiful white gown ,sadly.
I exited the bathroom. He was no where to be seen. I kept the gown on the bed and started packing my stuffs in my suitcase.
I really want to help Mrs. Adams but if helping her would mean that I would have to deal with Mr. Adams and his insults for me then I don't think I can help. It's good that I leave this place and throw him out of my life right now.
