Chapter Fifteen

The Sweet Escape

Guys, guess what? It's my birthday today. So because I wanted to be a nice 17-year old, I decided to update. Ya'll have waited long enough.

Chapter Fifteen

Skylar could say that she had never been really close to her sisters. Grace was the oldest, 28-years old, married, she even had a son named Liam. She was the type of woman that went to have afternoon tea with her friends, was always well-groomed, her blonde hair perfect. She was the perfect wife to her husband Jack Peters. They'd gotten married a year after meeting Ian. Even then, she hadn't really been involved in the wedding. So it was a big surprise when Heather called to inform her of her own wedding.

Heather looked more like Skylar's sister than Grace did. She had the same brown hair and their mother's eyes. She was 26 herself. A bit quieter than Grace, but just as beautiful. Heather and Grace has always been close to each other, they always did everything together. Skylar never minded, she always figured that because she was younger they probably found her boring and couldn't really connect.

Heather was getting married to a man named Luis Montero, a Spanish man she had met while in Europe. She was happy for her, of course she was. Skylar had always been a hopeless romantic.

"That's great to hear," Skylar said. "When is the wedding?"

"It's in November, so...in a little over two weeks," she explained. "I called to ask if you could be a bridesmaid."

Grace had not wanted Skylar to be her bridesmaid, which she had been okay with. She just never figured Heather would want her to. The only thing that made her thoughtful was how soon the wedding was. According to Heather, they'd only just met a few months ago.

"Of course." She wasn't about to say no to her sister. Plus, it would make her parents happy to see that she was getting more involved in family affairs.

"Great!" Heather sounded honestly happy. Maybe it was the fact that she was in love and a future wife. That would surely make anyone happy. "I'll send you the invitation, you  get a plus one, of course. The wedding is exactly on November 2nd, so try to get here by the 1st so that everything goes smoothly."

She quickly agreed, promising her that she would get there in time.

"I'm really glad you're coming," Heather said. "So I'll see you in two weeks! Oh my gosh, it's so soon. Anyway, I have to go now. I'm going with Grace to pick out the food for the wedding."

When the call ended, Skylar was pretty happy. Sure, she was really enjoying California, but she did miss Chicago was happy to go back even if just for a while. She'd even get to see Kyle, which was really great.

It was Friday, which meant she was the firm, in Ian's office. He'd gone out to speak to a few of the other lawyers, leaving her alone while she worked on the tasks he had assigned her. There was a little beige couch by the window in his office that looked out onto the city of San Francisco. Her heels were off, and she lounged back, a laptop on top of her legs.

She decided to take a break from her work and go online to reserve her tickets, just to make sure that everything went smoothly.

Ian entered the office again, and went over to sit down next to her, pulling her legs on top of his as he watched her scrunch her nose as she did whatever she was doing.

"What's up?" he asked.

"My sister Heather called," she explained, not taking her eyes off the screen. "She's getting married in two weeks and wants me to be her bridesmaid."

A small frown formed on his face. The idea of her being gone kind of bothered him, but he wasn't about to stop her from attending an important family event.

"Two weeks is very short notice, no?"

"She got proposed to two days ago by a guy she met a few months ago in Spain," she said. "I guess they're moving pretty fast, but I'm in no position to say anything about it. It's her life."

"When are you leaving?"

"I'm leaving the 1st very  early in the morning." Three in the morning would be good.

"I'll miss you," he said, running a hand up and down her leg.

"I do get a plus one," she pointed out. "Maybe you could, you know, go with me. If you want to, I mean."

Ian wouldn't mind going with her. He'd feel more at ease being with her, and it wasn't like he hadn't met her family before. After all, he had originally gone to Chicago to see if Grace or Heather Grant would be his future wife. But...

"Do you think your family will take it well?" he asked. "You and I being together, I mean."

She really couldn't give a damn what anyone thought about them being together. Skylar was happy, and that was all that mattered to her, really.

"I don't know," she confessed. "But they can't really do anything about it."

She quickly reserved two tickets and closed her laptop, climbing on top of him to give him a peck on the lips. "I'm excited."

"As am I," he muttered against her lips, thrusting his hips a little bit to nudge hers, his little buddy poking her thigh. Ian couldn't lie, he enjoyed having her on top of him. It was a big turn on.

They'd started off wanting to take things slow at first, but they were finding out that they couldn't really do that. They both liked being intimate with each other a bit too much to hold off it. At least they hadn't had s.ex on the first day, they were still waiting on that. But they sure as hell weren't that shy with each other anymore, they were becoming more open and playful and teasing with each other, and that was good for both of them.

Skylar giggled. "Ian!" She playfully hit his chest and tried to get off him, just to have his arms tighten around her.

"Skylar!" he mimicked.

"Let me go," she said. "I have a lot of work to do and I'll get in trouble with my boss if I don't."

Ian ran his nose up and down her neck causing her to shiver. "I think he'll be okay with a few late assignments."

"But we also have to leave early if we want to get to the concert in time. You know, the one you bought tickets for in the first place."

Ian sighed. "Fine." He let her get off him. "Did you bring clothes to change into or do you wanna stop at your apartment first?"

"I brought extra clothes," Skylar replied, motioning towards the messenger bag she'd brought with her outfit. "I need to change into it."

"Go ahead," Ian said crossing his arms across his chest. "I'm right here." He winked.

Skylar shook her head and smiled, amused. Flirty Ian was a s.exy Ian. She really liked that. "I'm not going to change in front of you,  you perv!"

"Says the girl that already saw me naked," he replied, referring to the night Skylar had "returned the favor."

She blushed. "You don't need to be such a d.ick," she retorted.

He chuckled and got up. "You can change in my office. I need to go talk to Peter anyway." And then he left, closing the door behind him.

Ian was taking her to go see one of her favorite bands, Real Friends, at an underground venue. Of course she was ecstatic! But she couldn't go in her work clothes and heels. So she changed into black skinny jeans, a Real Friends band tee, a red flannel, and black Chuck Taylor's. She liked that look, she looked more like herself than she did in pencil skirts and heels.

Ian didn't change. He just took off his jacket and tie, rolled up the sleeves of his navy blue button down and tousles his hair - well, she tousled his hair while they kissed before leaving his office.

The employees that they encountered gave them both weird looks as they passed. Maybe it was due to the fact that Skylar was dressed more casual than she had in a while, or the fact that Ian couldn't keep a smile off his face. And according to all his employees, Ian rarely smiled.

They got to the venue a few minutes before the show was supposed to start. They didn't bother with the crowd and instead headed towards the bar area where there were tables around the show floor. It was already full, everyone on the floor crowded in together. Rude fans were pushing those in front of them to try to get closer to the stage. Skylar was glad she wasn't down there, she'd been in the crowd at concerts too many times before which lead to bruises and soreness the day after. She could do without that for tonight.

While the opening act performed, Skylar was struggling. She really was. Images of Gregg kept popping up in her mind, and she didn't want them to. She couldn't let Gregg ruin her night with Ian. Concerts were a thing that she had to go to, and just because she'd been to a few with Gregg didn't mean that she couldn't go anymore. He was an asshole that didn't deserve a minute of her thoughts.

Ian hand on her arm snapped her out of it. He looked concerned. "You okay?"

She nodded. "Yes." She offered him a smile to reassure him.

The concert had been great, it really had. Skylar had so much fun, and Ian had fun seeing her have fun. He'd probably been the oldest at the concert, but he didn't give a crap. He just wanted her to be happy.

Ian and Skylar had come to an agreement that she would stay at his house, it was too late to drive to her place and they were both tired. It was for a good reason.

It was eleven when they got  home. As soon as they entered the house small feet padded on the floor as Emily ran towards them. Wasn't it a bit late for her to be up?

"Skylar!" she enthused, wrapping her arms around her legs. "I missed you. Daddy said he would bring you over!"

"Hi, Em." Skylar bent down to give her a proper hug and kiss her on the cheek. "I've missed you too, hun."

"No hug for me, princess?" Ian asked his daughter.

Emily smiled widely and jumped into her father's arms. "Hi, Daddy!"

Ian went off to dismiss the babysitter leaving Skylar and Emily alone.

"You know my mommy called me today?" Emily said innocently.

"What?" Was her mother even supposed to be talking to her? Ian hadn't mentioned anything, and he would have told her, wouldn't he.

"She told me not to tell daddy," Emily went on explaining. "But I had to tell someone. My mommy called me! My mommy, Skylar!" The way her eyes brightened up at the thought of her mom broke Skylar's heart. Emily really did need a mom in her life. "Don't tell daddy, okay? Mommy says I'll get in trouble if he knows."

Skylar nodded. "When did she call you, sweetie?"

"When I got home from school."

Ian joined them once more and smiled, oblivious to what Emily was hiding.

"Honey, go to your room and I'll be there soon to tuck you in, okay?" Ian said.

"Okay!" Emily agreed, climbing up the stairs.

When she was gone Skylar spoke again. She had to tell him.

"What's wrong, dolcezza?" Ian asked with a smile on his lips, wrapping his arms around her waist. Well, he wouldn't be that happy once she told him.

"Emily said Christina called her today," she confessed. "She told me that you weren't supposed to know."

Ian froze. "Are you sure she said that?"

She nodded.

His eyes darkened. "My room is upstairs to the left," he said. "Go. I'll meet you up there soon."

"Ian-"

"I need to get this settled, Skylar," he said. "I'll be up soon."

He was mad. With a frown she went up the stairs. She knew that the best thing was not argue with him. He was Emily's father and had every right to be mad. But someone as young as Emily shouldn't have all that drama in her life.

Christina answered on the third ring with an overly-happy tone to her voice. "Hi, Ian!"

He didn't waste any time. "You called Emily today."

She sighed through the other line. "I thought I told her not to tell you."

"Why shouldn't I know?" he snapped.

"Because I knew you'd overreact, Ian," she explained. "Look, she's my daughter. I don't just want to show up there out of nowhere. I want her to know that I care for her and that mommy is going to be there soon."

"You should have let me known first," he said through gritted teeth. "You may be her mother but I've been with her throughout her entire life. I think I have a bit more of a say on who she can and can't talk to."

"Ian," Christina said calmly. "Don't be mad."

"I don't want to be mad. But your actions are pissing me off. You couldn't have let me know you were calling her?"

"Look, I'll be there next week, okay?" she said. "We'll talk more about Emily then." And she hung up.

Skylar was in the middle of looking for a shirt to wear to bed when Ian walked inside the room finding her half-naked.

"I already put Emily to bed," he said, his eyes roaming over her body clad in only a burgundy lace bra and panties.

"Have you come to tuck me into bed too?" she teased.

His eyes darkened, but not the same way they had earlier when he was angry, now his eyes were filled with lust. "I've come to take you to bed."

Skylar bit her lip as she walked over to Ian, feeling s.exy and powerful. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his jaw line, feeling his light stubble. "Mmm."

Ian groaned. "You don't want to tease me," he warned her. "I won't be able to control myself." Especially not while her half-naked body was pressed against his.

"I've already seen you naked," Skylar reminded him. "Now you can see me." She unclasped her bra and let it fall to the floor, standing in only her panties. "Wanna help me with the rest?" She was surprised at how confident she sounded. Usually she was very insecure, but with Ian, well, she wanted him to see her, all of her.

Ian automatically fell to his knees at the sight in front of him. He placed a kiss at the top of her belly button and slowly pulled down her panties then helped her step out of them. She was a goddess really, a sinful goddess sent down to lead him to temptation.

Skylar was no virgin.  She'd regretfully given her virtue to the a.sshole called Gregg, and after him she'd only had s.ex with two other guys in college. And now she was starting to regret all of it. Saving herself for Ian would have been perfect. But then again, the way Ian was making her feel might as well make her an inexperienced virgin.

He led her over to his bed so that she could lay down, her legs hanging off. When his lips met her most private part, she gasped. No one had ever done that to her. And it felt great. Ian kissed her with hunger, knowing exactly which spot would lead her to combustion. She cried out as waves of ecstasy hit her.

"Take off your clothes," she breathed out.

"My pleasure," he said, already shrugging off his shirt, quickly getting to work on pulling off the rest.

Ian was not a bodybuilder. He didn't spend countless hours in the gym. But his body was still beautiful, toned, and s.exy. Skylar wanted to feel all of him.

Before getting into bed with her, he ripped open a foil packet and slid on the c.ondom.

They kissed with passion, their two naked bodies pressing against each other. It was perfect, really. They were both exactly where they wanted to be. Five years. They'd waited five years for this moment.

"You know I love you, right?" Ian said when they'd paused for breath. There was no other better time to let her know than in that moment. "I love you so much."

It was exactly what she wanted to hear. "I love you, Ian."

And then he entered her.

She gasped at the intrusion, her body adjusting to his size. She was no virgin, but it had been a while, and Ian was bigger than the others.

"Mmm," he moaned against her ear. "So tight."

After a few seconds he started going faster. Skylar couldn't lie, it was amazing. She'd heard that Italians did it better, and now she was getting first-hand experience with one. Italians did do it better.

With every thrust she got closer to her release, her nails digging into his back. She really couldn't control the sounds that came out of her mouth, but she tried her hardest to keep it down. But Ian loved hearing her, he loved knowing how he made her feel.

"Faster, Ian," she pleaded.

He did just that, increasing his speed. And soon enough they were both laying by each other's side breathless.

"You are a goddess," Ian said, running his hand down her naked thigh.

She gave him a peck on the lips before going to sleep. They'd professed their love towards each other. It made her feel some type of way!

*Giggles* They did the dirty deed!
