Healing Touch

Chasing Kiarra: The Finale

Kiarra

I was in his arms when I woke up.

I was groggy, but I found Aidan’s eyes fixed on me. “Hey, Kitten,” he smiled.

I snuggled into his chest. “Where am I?”

“Pack hospital. They got you all fixed up once we arrived.”

Suddenly, the memories of what had just happened flooded my mind. “Where’s James?”

Instantly, I was hit with a wave of anxiety.

All the worries I had run from were still here, still waiting patiently.

The beeps of the machines distracted me from my thoughts. “What’s all this?”

“Ah, ah, hands off, Kitten. This is booster juice,” he laughed but realized I had no idea what he was talking about.

“You’ll heal up nice. It’s a bonus of being a wolf,” he smirked.

The lines around his eyes perfectly framed the gleam in them.

“This stuff is like a cocktail and will speed up the process.”

“And James? Did you send them away?”

He breathed heavily, but he wasn’t pissed off. “They’re here,” he nodded but left it at that.

“Kitten,” he sighed, “I don’t need to ask why you ran.”

“Aidan, I—“

“No, no,” he said gently, “hear me out. I want to do whatever I can to make you happy, Kiarra. I love you more than words can describe.”

I smiled, but there was something bittersweet about the moment.

“I love you too, Aidan,” I said, snuggling deeper into his chest. I hadn’t felt this comfortable with him in way too long.

I missed his smell, the musky, earthy scent that drove me crazy in the best way.

I missed the strength in his arms when he held me.

I missed the bass in his deep voice that seemed to travel up my spine and gave me tingles in all the right spots.

“Can I ask you something? Where did the rogues come from?”

He looked surprised. “I didn’t think you knew.”

I scoffed. “I was in an accident. My ears work just fine; I heard the fighting.”

He stayed silent, so I continued, “Where did they come from, Aidan? Was that a setup?”

The anger on his face couldn’t be hidden, “What are you saying, Kiarra? I set you up?”

“Seems like someone did,” I replied, pulling away from him now, “call me crazy, but the timing was a little too perfect. I leave, you show up, and boom! Opportunity to be the hero?”

I couldn’t believe the words that flew out. I almost wanted to cover my mouth.

“Kiarra, all I’ve done is try to protect you, and you have the goddamn nerve to say this shit to me?”

“Nerve? Fucking right, I do. On the matter of protecting me, I guess that didn’t work out, did it?”

Aidan flew off the bed. I supposed cuddle time had finished. “What the fuck are you talking about!” he shouted.

“You weren’t there! When I needed you, Aidan, you were nowhere to be found!”

“If you hadn’t run away for the millionth time, Kiarra, we wouldn’t be here right now!” he returned.

The pressure between us had gone from simmer to boil real quick.

“Okay, I’ll bite. You think the accident was set up?” he nodded, “the first person I’d look at would be that bastard James!”

“James?” I scoffed, “You mean the one who saved me?”

I didn’t know where this was headed, but I hadn’t expected to see my mate deflate as quickly as he did.

He sat on the bed, turned, and took my hand, “I thought I lost you.”

I didn’t know what to say.

“I thought that was the end of us, Kitten,” he continued. Aidan wasn’t about to cry soon, but I knew his heart was broken in more ways than one.

“It was a chance to be your hero, you’re right, but it’s not what you think.”

~Here we go again~ I thought to myself.

“James left me to fight off the rogues. The only other person I saw was Melody. James just disappeared.”

I stayed silent, but not because I was annoyed. Because I could see how much he was hurting.

In some insane way, it was good James had gotten to me, but that didn’t mean he was taking Aidan’s place.

No one could ever do that.

“That’s why I left,” I blurted out, “I’m so tired of seeing you hurt because of me, Aidan.”

He held my face in his hand, wiping away the tears running down my bruised cheek.

“I need to know that you’re on my side. I need to know that you'd support me no matter what I did or where I went.”

“I don’t want to lose you. You’re the only thing that makes me happy, Kitten.”

I smiled. It was the sweetest thing he’d ever told me, “You’re the only one for me. Ever. In this life or any other one, Aidan. I’d never give that up!”

He maneuvered to lay beside me again. His lips found mine.

As usual, the chain reaction I had become accustomed to started up. All at once, I was consumed with want of my mate.

His hands traveled under the gown they’d put me in, “Mmm, you smell so sweet,” he moaned in my ear as I felt the strength of his finger push deep inside me.

I gasped, but I pushed down on him. I wanted everything he was willing to provide.

“I need you so bad,” I whispered breathlessly.

I felt him hesitate, “No!” I demanded, ”kissing him harder, “I’m okay,” I grabbed his face in my hands, “Please baby, give it to me.”

“I love it when you beg,” he teased as he pulled on top of his perfectly stiff cock. I felt it pulsate as it entered me.

I rocked furiously back and forth, eager to take every inch of him inside of me.

He ripped the gown from the front, grabbing my bare breasts and bringing them to his mouth.

Between each sultry suck of my nipple, he moaned, “Mmm, that’s a good girl. Take all that cock, take it all, Kitten.”

The bass in my voice drove me insane. I couldn’t hold back. I had to explode.

We both did.

I rolled to his side, but he moved with me, his cock still inside.

I felt the peace I’d been craving and the space I needed to speak freely again.

“Are we good now?” I asked with as much hope.

He breathed out and laughed, “Keep doing that, and you’re gonna kill me.”

I laughed with him, but he knew the answer I was looking for.

“Apex Pack?” he shook his head and laid back on a bent arm, “You’re not gonna let me go, are you?”

“Never?” I teased.

“Okay.”

He said exactly what I needed and wanted, but I still couldn’t understand why I was so shocked.

“Really?”

“As soon as you can shift on command, then yes. Okay.”
