âEvans, this is my best friend and confidant, Angela; we have been through a lot together, and Angela is Evans, my fiancée which I always told you about.â
gesticulated while watching the duo.
âNice to meet you, Evans; I have heard so much about you.â Angela spoke first she extended her hand towards him. He held her hand for a while and smiled back before releasing it back to her.
âItâs good to see you too; Iâm surprised youâve never said anything about your beautiful friend here.â
âMy father used to say, Never show your best friend the you want to be with.â I joked.
âYou look familiar looking at you up close think I have seen you somewhere.â Angela asked after she had spent the last minute starting at Evans.

âAre you sure you are not lying?â
âI said do not know you and clearly have not seen you before!â He yelled. That was the first time I had seen him in such a mood. Angela had clearly overstretched him, and I did not find it
âAngela, thatâs enough.â I turned towards Evans and continued, âIâm so sorry about that. I think she mistook you for someone else; it happens all the time.â I tried to force a sm
âYeah, I get that a lot. I think I need to go now. Nice meeting you, Angela Iâll call you later, dear.â He said that and headed to leave.
âOkay, Iâll be waiting for your call.â She said,
âWhat was that all about?â I asked soon as he left.
What was that all about?â
âThe drama you just pulled now?
âI will never forget Regina; I have never been wrong about a face before.â
âWhat do you mean?â
âCould it be him? I hope not â
âCould it be who? Which person do you think he is?
âYou know what? Never mind, it canât possibly be him.â
âYeah, it canât.â
Half asleep, I still heard the doorbell ring as I strolled towards it with sleep still clouding my sight.
âAsleep already? I brought us a bottle of wine and a lateânight snack.â He said this as soon as I opened the door.
âHey Evans, considering the fact that I worked overtime today, I am exhausted and overly sleepy at
the moment.â
âIâm sorry, maybe we can take the wine and snack tomorrow; you need your rest.â
âNo, I donât want to ruin the night for you.â
âHey, come here.â He put his arms around my as I led him upstairs towards the bedroom
âWe are still drinking that wine.â
âYou are stubborn.â
I retrieved two glasses, and he served us the wine. Both settled in the opposite direction of the couch in my bedroom. Just then, the phone rang again.

âItâs just 9.00, but you need to decline the call, you should rest.â
âItâs just o? It feels like I have been sleeping for hours. Donât worry, I will take the call; it could be important.â I watched the screen of the phone in uncertainty.
âWho is that?â
âI donât know if itâs a private number.â
âOkay, pick it up then.â
I did as he had said, and soon we were connected. It was maleâs voice speaking discreetly. The tech guy Jane had hired
âItâs the tech guy,â I whispered to Evans as he watched me.
He nodded as he heard me and began taking his drink again. After while I was done with the call.
âIt was the tech guy Jane had hired.â
âOh, any good news?â
âNot really, but there is progress. He could trace the server of the number that sent the text. He found
link between the text and the video; I think itâs the same person who leaked the video.â
âThatâs progress; at least we are looking out for just one person.
âBut one thing he said that I still donât get.â
âWhatâs that?â
âHe traced the server to a far away from here.â
âHow far?â
As far as another country.â
âHmmm. This is strange. Why someone far away want to hurt you?â
âI keep asking myself that. I never really left this town. I donât know; itâs all so confusing.â
Donât overwork yourself with that stress.â
âBut I canât help it; I keep getting worried anytime hear about this. I just want to know who is doing this and get it over with â
âI think you need to get more security, considering your present status.â

, my aches so bad.â
I slouched to the , nearly naked, with just a silkâmade robe just below her back. The wind had become cooler now nudged the inner chiffon curtains. I always preferred the natural breeze.

âLet me be your masseuse for tonight, just as I have promised.â He whispered softly in my ears, and my breathing suddenly slowed down.
Itâs like the rims of the curtains now moved in a sudden movement; every part of the room was calm, with just his soft voice resonating in my ears. The air was cooler, rushing into my nostrils like the crispness of the first snowflakes during the winter season.
My heart beat slowed, and he rolled off the remaining part of the silk robe that was over me as he
moved above me.
I did not move a bit; I didnât want to spoll whatever plans he had for me. I kept my eyes fixed on the shifting curtains, and then, like the warmest thing ever, he clasped my aching shoulders into his soft hands. His warm breath raises goose bumps on my neck.
âWhat are you doing?â I managed to ask between my nearly silent moans.
