Chapter 6
REGINA MILES- A BILLIONAIRE STORY ( Thomas Miles )
Chapter Six: A Hospital Session
âEdinburgh Private Hospital, where is it?â I echoed to the GPS installed in my car. âAt the T road. A few miles down to the left. You would arrive there in a few minutes if the road is clear.â
My Mercedes C63 Sedan came to a halt in front of the building as soon as I arrived at the popular hospital. Ever since Thomas showed me those photos, I needed to be more private with everything now felt health falling. Before taking the keys from the ignition, I took a quick glance at myself through the rear mirror for a while smacking my lips against each other so that the chanel
allure lipstick I had earlier put on would spread evenly across my . Then I ready to face the world again pushing the doors open. Tiny droplets of water marked dark small circles on my green coat I got down from the car.
Take care of my baby, I do not want any scratches now,â I tossed the keys to the valet, handing him a cup of coffee and a brown paper bag of snacks, a good morning to show such a kind gesture.
He was such a character as his bigâsized fixed dentition was shown as he grinned even from a distance.
The weight of the droplets increased so I walked quickly going through the glass door which was at the entrance of the building. I certainly did not forget smile at the few people I passed by hallway, charming them was a good way to start the morning, I thought.
I strode confidently into the reception vicinity_ a wellâdecorated area along the hallway, having all the features of a modern office with its sleek marble floor. The dancing lady orchids in their flower pots filled the with their sweet fragrance that had a way of grasping in everybodyâs nostrils that walked in, drawing customers towards the list of services offered the desk.
âGrace,â I read out the name as I got to the front desk.
it was clearly written on the plastic ID card that was clipped to the upper left part of her ; where the breast pocket would have been located if
she had had a shirt on.
The lady behind the desk did seem to notice that I was there. The ginger redâ
lady kept her eyes on the screen of the phone in her hand, letting out soft giggles, obviously from what she was
seeing on her phone.
âWhatâs ?â I asked and placed my leather bag on the desk. The lady slowly raised her head placing the device on the desk. She blew out the bubble gum from her mouth before her suddenly elevated and just immediately, it popped on her face spreading across her lips. We at each other for a while with our different thoughts before she her eyes to her phone that lay in front of her and then back at me.
âItâs you,â She said.
âWhat do you mean?â
âMrs Miles, the Mrs Miles. Oh my God!â She gasped.
âIâm sorry maâam, I didnât see you there. She took out the gum off her mouth and into the kerchief on

her desk.
âWelcome, I love your work. All youâve done for those helpless families. Mr Miles has my vote.â
âWhat vote?â
âThe Mayor. Iâm a huge fan and my daughter canât stop talking about you.â
âThomas was going for the Mayorâs position? That explains a lot, he is such a joker.â
1 froze at her words as rage boiled in me.
âAre you okay ?â
âOh yeah,
âYou seemed lost.â
âI just snapped out for a bit. Is Dr Blythe around? I have an appointment with him.â
273
âYes .â She said hysterically out the record sheet meant for patients for appointments to sign in their names as a means to show that they were present. She jumped off her seat as I took my bag from the desk as a means to go in, âLet me help you with your bag and coat maâam,â She offered.
âNo, you donât have to do that, I can carry my stuff.â
âI insist Mrs Miles, I want to help you with them.â I smiled moving closer to her, âIf this is just a means to make me tell the doctor of your behavior on duty or popping bubble gum to my face then you really donât have to, because I am no snitch and I donât really think I will like the doctor that much. I returned her stare with a smile trying to move again but the lady appeared persistent and I had to let her have her way with the bag but decided to hold on to my coat.
âKindly toss that Kerchief into the trash itâs unhygienic. And itâs Regina.â
The lady walked I followed behind. I have always heard about the famous Edinburgh Hospital and its exquisite edifice and worldâ
doctors. I looked around looking at different wards and Labs in the hospital. It was just as it was said. I had passed by a few times on trips but promised myself a tour around during the week if it didnât seem weird.
Gradually, the distance between us almost ten steps now, the lady must have been in a racing club or something. How she could walk that fast in a fourâinch louboutins was marveling. I tried keeping up with the speed and for that, I was grateful that had worn my tennis shoes as I would have not. been able to keep up with the pace of the lady. But I did not let that stop my sightseeing I kept on looking around even if I on my heels and so I did not see that the lady had suddenly stopped walking I nearly jammed my face on the ladyâs back.
I wanted to call out to her to ask her why she had stopped so suddenly but could not find , it occurred to me that I had not asked her for her if I did find the tag on her clothes had a name written on it, I still wasnât sure.
âHey Lady, whatâs ?â I held her she nearly tripped.

âItâs Dr Blythe I know itâs wrong to drool over a staff but he is dreamy.â The lady pointed towards a direction with pink checks and a wide grin. It was obvious she was in love with whoever she had seen. Oh, I see why she nearly tripped now,â I thought to myself, mentally rolling my eyes as I got curious.
to see this man.
Just then, as if being awoken from the longest dream, I saw him dressed like a doctor as he walked out from the other end of the hallway.
