291 Girl’s Talk

CHAPTER 291

A soft smile formed on Jade’s lips as she gazed lovingly at her friend. A few days ago, they spoke about her meeting someone and now she had down that, she was conflicted.

“Babe,” Jade called out sweetly, “It’s going to be okay.”

“I know but I am not so sure. I know we moved at a fast pace but I really really do like him,” she added much emphasis on the real, so Jade could understand from her point.

“I get it, Asia. The heart knows what it wants and we may delay it but we can never deny what destiny has in store for us. Now tell me, what is the matter?”

She lowered her gaze briefly but when she lifted her head again, she had a more determined expression on her face.

Scooting over to where her friend sat, Asia managed a small smile before she opened her mouth and filled her friend in on her problems.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

“He claims to love me but, he also hesitated and holds a girl in his memories.”

“Are you sure?” Jade inquired.

She had seen how they behaved once and did not need a soothsayer to tell her Aramis was so much interested in her and one thing was sure, dragons did not cheat or do two women.

They love their mates and remain loyal.

There could be problems at times but most would stick to their lover. Just like Sky and Jenny. He had a slip-up but he regretted it so much and never let it occur again.

“You know me better than this, Jade, of course, I am sure. Once, on our first night, he called out her name when he slept and I heard it loud and clear.”

Jade’s eyes widened a fraction at the reveal but when she thought carefully about it, she passed. “Wait, you said your first night together?”

“Sure.”

A small smile spread on her lips again. “Babe, that I believe is too early to judge him.”

“Isn’t that too early to love me as well?”

“Well, you know how their dragons are? Primal creatures that, well, they know what they want. I was kissed by Xander the very first day we saw eye to eye and he saved me.”

“Oh wow. Against your consent?”

She nodded her head at her friend, “Yup. He saved me thrice that night and I escaped each time until the last.”

‘Whoa! I bet he never met a girl like you. Most would swoon at him and fall into his arms, feigning being hurt bit in your case, you fled.”

“Sure, as much. You know how u am with a guy. I never had that time and my father made sure of it. So,” she continued, shifting on the bed to get a more comfortable position.

“So, when he met me, he must have gotten mesmerized or something and he kissed me out of the blue.”

“Umm, not really forceful,” Asia tried to correct but within her, she knew it was a close case.

“Well, I never gave consent.”

Her eyes lit up as a thought came to mind and she lifted her index finger, “Ah! I am betting you did something to him. What was it? A slap, or a kick?”

“Neither.”

“What! You mean to tell me you let him go scot-free?”

‘Nope. Much worse in fact. I kneed him in the groin.”

Asia’s eyelids blinked a thousand times that minute at her friend.

Whoa her friend was feisty, she knew but not to that extent. “Whoa! Babe, you did it. Wow, no wonder he never let you go.”

“Hahhaa,” she laughed heartedly. “I ran away but that was the beginning of our love. He knew what he wanted right from time and he went for it. I can say the same for Aramis.”

“Hmm, maybe not. Turns out you are his mate. So Xander followed his deep instincts.”

“Who knows,” Jade shrugged. “You could be his mate too,” she pointed out.

“I doubt that,” Asia quipped. “Things are different. He has another girl in his mind and heart.”

“And how can you be sure when you do not know? Or did Aramis tell you that himself?”

“No, he did not.”

“So?” Jade scooted closer to her and lifted her chin up so Asia could look at her. “Hey, look at me, learn from me and do not make the same mistakes I made. I am in this sexual frustration because of what I made him promise.”

“It is different for Aramis and me. I can feel the pull, the energy, want and need between us. The chemistry is on a whole different level but I cannot shake off the fact that I am second in his heart.”

“Are you?”

“What?” she dimmed her eyes at her friend, trying to figure out what she meant. “I do not understand you, Jade. Explain.”

“Did you hear him mention a girl’s name? Have you inquired about her from him? Or even ask Astoria if she knew her and they were related. Just calm down babe and trust your instincts. Your heart wants this boy, now all you can do is follow that heart and be clean to know your stand.”

Asia lowered her head as she closed her eyes. This was taking on more toll on her than she had planned.

“Fine. I will.”

“Good. Because you, my friend, you deserve to know.”

“Okay.”

“Oh and yes, when would you be telling him or I mean confronting him in your case?”

“Umm, I can ask you the same. When would you tell Xander you love him and although it hurts you about the past, you want him in your life and cannot do without him?”

“I will, right after I sort out this major attack. I do not want anything causing problems between us.”

“How?”

She released Asia’s hands and relaxed on the bed, “I know him. Xander would very much become overly protective and would not let me go for the fight.”

“No. I believe he has seen it that you are not a baby nor a weakling.”

“He knows but his primal instincts to protect his mate above all else would kick in. I can become a danger to him.”

“Duh, he would protect you whether you tell him how you feel or not,” Asia reminded her.

“Yes, but way worse when I let him know. You, on the other hand, Aramis is perfect in that accord I think. He knows you are strong.”

“Sigh, what are we, twelve? Aramis knows I am strong but he almost lost me the first time when he found me and he felt it. Now that he has met me again, he would be more protective of my person.”

“Gosh, why did we get involved with such overprotective guys like this?” Jade wondered. “For mine, it is like I never left my father’s shell. Now I just have Xander’s own to fight with once more.”

“You would be fine. Do not worry. I would let him know because boy, is he finding it hard to control himself and me... I do not know, with his charm, I might give in but not until I know his heart is mine.”

“Fiesty,” Jade grinned. “That’s my girl. After this attack, and we defeated the Anders I would be the first to let him know. It is for the best. I am no child in need of protection and I need him to concentrate. His people need him.”
